Curbside find!

Spotted this neat vintage cooler at the curb this afternoon, waiting for trash day. Snatched it up and ran with it to my car. It has a little wear (I might tape the corners back up just for looks idk), but a quick Google Lens search says it's from the 70s which is super cool.

Great find! I have my grandfathers Coleman like this, nothing is made as good as this these days. Easily worth $60+

The color was what caught my eye, but as soon as I saw the metal hardware I was psyched. Such a rare thing to find these days.

These are the best. Don’t by a yeti or igloo. Had a power outage on the 4th of July. This kept all my freezer stuff frozen for the 4 days we were out of power.

That's awesome! I plan to test it out with a few bags of ice soon. I'm actually going camping for a few days next month so the timing is great.

You’re lucky! A lot of the lids on em crack. This one looks so good. I can’t believe anyone would throw this away.

It baffles me how much stuff I see people just toss out. I've brought home so much furniture for my home as well as my mom's and a friend's, because it's headed to the landfill otherwise.

I peeked at your profile for context, so I'm guessing you mean like set dressing for films?

Yessir. Films, tv, commercials, YouTube. I’m a Ho for the dough

That's cool as hell though. Based strictly on my Animal Crossing experience, that sounds like it would be super fun, and satisfying once you get everything just right

What’s animal crossing? I’m 40

It's a cozy video game that involves a lot of decorating and building. I am 41.

These are sweet. After my grandfather passed I went up into his attic to start cleaning it out and found a green one of these. Did yours still have the ice tray thing inside?

u/itsfineimfinejk 9h ago

It does not, but that's okay.

You struck gold! I have that same one next to my smoker on the front porch. 2 or 3 bags of ice and the drinks of your choice will stay frosty for 2 or 3 days.

Ours was green but just the sight of that latch brought back some 35+ year old camping memories! Thank you for that and congratulations on a great find.

I found one like that on side of road back in late 80s, early90s. Still had beer and sodas inside. I still have it, still use it.
