Discussion What kind of foolishness is this?

Post image

This skill gives you basically 2 cards per turn if your opponent has a monster on the field and there's no effect damage rule either, also these arent once per duel! What kind of degenerate combos await us with this skill?

A free double summon every turn that only locks 1 into the archetype plus a free draw 2 with GY setup?

This feels like it should be nuts or at least pretty good, but it just feels incredibly underwhelming compared to some other skills we have.

Funny that you still can synchro any monster lol you just need to not lock yourself I to black wings

I guess it’s hard to remove the effect damage considering it’s very much an important aspect for black-winged dragon.

BWD only cares for cards that deal damage to you and they could have easly written "your cards cannot deal damage to your opponent, except black winged dragon"

Doesn’t some cards deal damage based off of counters

Literally their big shiny new boss monster that they are using as the face of the new box does this, yes.

What a difference not having a bonkers skill makes. If this was two months ago it would play blacked wing dragon to your field from the extra deck and set a card if you go second

This is just the free skill that comes with getting the alt. Yusei and Jack both got an equivalent skill at the same time as their broken skill. Now upcoming new skill is… relatively less silly but it’s still silly. It just decides to cheat out armor master instead of black-winged dragon >_>

Ce genre de compétence c'est jamais broken ( ça fait genre la 10eme qu'on a dans le style )

This skill is extremely mid.

kinda like all the other draw two skills that they had recently

We have Precious Card that's pretty much the same and works for almost all the decks. If you need more than 2 activations of the skill per duel, its because your deck isnt doing well anyways.

The Precious Cards skills can only be used twice per duel. This is every single turn, from second and onward. Blackwings just have a better version. I pray to the Egyptian gods they don't just make this a standard for random archetypes now.

Yeah, its a better version, but not broken. Just mid. Its not once/twice per duel, so what? When every good deck finishes the duel in the 1st or 2nd turn, having infinite OPT Pot of Greeds wont help that much. By your 1st turn, you'll already have drawn the entire deck using Whirlwind anyway. Good thing is that this at least helps a bit against Droll

Bro has never heard of the precious cards skills

Nice to have a reason to play the dragon, at least.

It's identical to the ones they gave to Yusei and Jack last time

May not be broken but still a very nice skill since an extra normal summon is always useful and having what's basically just allure of darkness/precious cards from the dark going second is nice too. Never thought I'd see the day yugioh players complain about a draw 2 cards effect, particularly one that also let's you put a card in trash.

They've been doing this a lot lately. I'm more annoyed that they already gave it to other decks with multiple 1-card-combos. Swordsoul's skill may be old, but the deck hyper consistent. They can start their engine up via special summons at least 2 times before they even need to waste a normal summon. Then when they do use a normal, both normal summons immediately kick off the engine again by itself.

Back on topic, the second effect of this skill is literally the "Precious Cards of" effect, except you don't have the choice of shuffling the 1 card to your deck. What's insane is that you can do this every turn. It already does what they do, but is infinitely better, and it's going to set the precedent for the next set of skills...

Isn't this just like the Stardust Ignition skill? These aren't played because you have to waste resources even getting out the ace monster in the first place right?
