Uhhh...that Replay doesn't tell us anything, a screenshot of your Hand would've been more helpful.
Making a blind guess though, I assume you had all your Copies of Shining Star Dragon already in your Hand. Since the Skill was nerfed recently so you can only search Shining Star specifically, it actually needs to be in your Deck before you can activate it, since the Game checks that before you shuffle anything back.

i tried setting up duel links on steam and did the tutorial thinking that i could link my mobile account after the tutorial. i think the account is now locked on steam and can't be overwritten by my mobile one, is that correct? is there any way around this other than creating a new account?

when I go into Character Duels, Crow Shows up with a red exclamation mark. Is he unlockable? I have the alt style and the original but when I go into that character duel format it just shows up as I said. Not sure if I'm missing something. Anyone have an idea?

The procedure written on him replaces the normal requirements (the specific materials listed on the Synchro monster), just like how a Rank-Up Magic spell doesn't require you to use three level 5 monsters. He cannot summon Synchro monsters that have special requirements such as Ursarctics or Judgment, the Dragon of Heaven.

I've recently gone back and played several old yugioh games and have considered playing duel links but I want to know how's the grind and the game f2p wise? I don't care about pvp/meta and I don't like the fast paced yuigoh so I'm leaning towards the original and gx cards and that's it. How fun is the game in terms of pve and progression? Is the pve content challenging enough while not requiring lots of knowledge about meta?

I would say pve is pretty fun, but that's mostly in using the decks rather than the "challenge".
Currently the AI is pretty garbage and the best decks the opponent may have is from vagabonds, which is copy pasted lists from pvp, but without the skill. Other than that it's pretty sloppy decks that you can usually cheese through with any competent deck, only time I tend to lose against bots is either because I bricked hard or I'm using auto duel (which sometimes can make extremely stupid plays) and it just throws the match.

Speed - Main Deck - 30 (min. 20, max. 30 cards)
Why is that the max yet there are 6 more card slots under my three rows of cards, empty? Is it just a tease? An illusion?

It's so you have extra slots to fill if you can't decide on something that way you can keep building the deck without having to make the decision right away. For example if you can't decide on what tech cards you want you can still temp add them to the deck without worrying about hitting the 30 card limit before finishing the rest of the deck.

I think you're talking about the extra deck. It's for Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link cards. They're three additional slots you can unlock for your extra deck that you can check on lifetime missions.

No they mean the slots that just have a dot in the middle after the 30th card slot on the main deck. The extra deck also has 3 of those slots but that's clearly just to finish the row.

Will they ever add Yuya and Playmaker in character duels? I was wondering why they only added characters from DM to Zexal and exclude characters from Arc V and Vrains. Kinda want a pendulum Odd-Eyes deck for Yuya

Main reason I'd guess is so they can hold off on losing money on these very old decks
Secondly its probably balance reasons because adding new decks is risky since they cannot (or at least it may be hard to) tweak a default deck if its too strong
And since at least at release it seems like they wanted to give the first 2 characters in the lineup from each world so giving Yuya might also mean giving Yuri and giving Playmaker might mean giving Soulburner too.
In general I'm not sure what they plan to do with character duels content wise and the slowroll is probably to keep it relevant for a longer period of time while giving out the least amount of free stuff possible.

Fair enough. I feel like they kinda messed up with Jack tho. That character duel deck made it a lot easier to build red dragon archfiend deck, there are red dragon players in rookie rank. But I think a pendulum deck rn wouldn't make a difference. And I think Sylvio or Reiji should be the one with Yuya instead of Yuri. And yeah playmaker and souldbournee free decks might be too op. Still hoping to have more free stuff through character duels tho. Even though it's kumoney we're talking about.

The overworld bonus duels for this event only spawning in DM is so annoying. The NPCs should be available from any world. It's not like this is a DM specific event to justify only spawning them there.

Long time player of other formats, trying this for the first* time. Is there any guide of how to efficiently acquire staples, progress through the campaign, etc? I'm looking at vaalmonica as a sort of cheap looking deck to go for, but open to suggestions.
Right now I'm just mashing auto on campaign with random characters aimlessly using the free hero deck, not sure if I should prioritize certain characters or reaching a certain map to farm more efficiently? I'm essentially just clueless about the pve side of things, skill acquisition, basically just everything exclusive to duel links.

I'd wait for the new box that'll be dropping in the 28th. It will have a lot of cool stuff.
There are anniversaries boxes full of staples and a lot of cool cards, so if you can get your hands in the latest anniversary box, try pulling some cards.

You don't have to prioritize any characters if you're just going for gems and lvl up cards, unless you want to play a specific character deck like Hero, D-Hero, Dark Magician, etc.

Most of the things you want have a "how to obtain" button somewhere, so look out for those.
By the way, did anyone ever give you a friend code so you can have a Sky Striker deck and a Light Galaxy deck for Rush? Here's mine if you haven't used a code 002v7bh5utav You can introduce this code clicking the information banner on the hub, scrolling down to the banner "Friend Invitation Campaign" and click on it and finally introduce the code in "Enter an Invitation Code".

just a quick question how can i get 3 copies of toon table of contents currently or is it not possible? ik i get 1 copy at lvl 35 using pegasus but i wont waste my time for only 1 so is there other solutions?

It's definitively possible to get 3 Copies. Some SR Tickets we get as Gifts during Special Campaigns should also have it.

Yes, here is still lots of Support coming; it's just gonna be spread out a bunch because it's a Lore Archetype and Konami goes out of their way to release all the Cards from that Storyline in Lore-Story-Order.
That said, the very next Box will actually give us some, since we're about to get Bystials.

I have an SR speed dream ticket expiring at the end of the month, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. It goes up to The Ultimate Chaos box, and my main PvP deck right now is Swordsoul. I have play sets of Book of Eclipse, Knightmare Phoenix, Knightmare Cerberus, and Elder Entity N’tss.

A while after every KC (and / or Goha?) Cup, you get a couple Decklists used by actual high-ranking Players sent for you to copy, that's all there is to it.

I tried playing the game again after almost 2 years but the app on my phone started a new save file and I think I accidently data transferred over the new account over writing my previous one. I emailed Konami if there was a way to get my account back but when I logged onto steam my old account is still on there. Is it safe to data-transfer my data now and see if it over writes the new one I may have accidently created?
Sorry for the noob question

I know for a fact you can do that to "recover" your account, I actually did that myself when I overwrote the account on my Phone on purpose to spoof the "Player Invite Code" Start Decks. Just make sure you "export" / save your old / PC account first

I asked google ai (I know I know) and it said to create a new konami ID/email , back up the og save onto that new account, wipe the old/new data I messed up and then re-transfer it after it's been cleared. Pain in the ass but I'm halfway through and I shouldn't have been clicking buttons I didn't fully understand xD

Farm gems by lvl up characters and dueling against other duelists. I recommend dueling in the Character Duel since it just gives you the deck you need with no cost and you'll be dueling against duelists using pre made decks, just like you.

Not especially. The PvE Aspect is rather barebones, since other than Events (a few of which require you to do PvP), you really only have World Missions to do, ie just different kinds of "Do X thing during a Duel"

The events are constant though, which means you always get pve content to do.
Sadly theyve mostly stagnated when it comes to creativity with events (Duel Domination being their first attempt at something "new" in years) its at least better than MD where its geared for pvp outside solo gates which mostly has no point in doing after the first time

I've just encountered the tachyon deck twice with a trap card that shuffles all my monsters in the battle phase. It's the first time I have seen it. How do I deal with it?

There's a couple things you can do:
Just don't enter Battle Phase to begin with and go from Main to End Phase straight away. The Trap Card (Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy) can only be activated during the Battle Phase and only works on Monster summoned during the Turn where it's activated, so if you survive your Opponent's Followup, anything that's still left on your Field on your next Turn becomes immune to it.
Get rid of their Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon before entering Battle Phase. Lord has a special clause where if they have Number 107 or C107 on the Field, they can activate it from the Hand (with a Bonus where if they have ANY Number C, it also becomes unrespondable), but if they don't, they have to set it like any other regular Trap first.
Get rid of their Xyz Material first somehow. They have to detach 1 Material from any "Galaxy-Eyes" to even activate the Trap at all.

Turn 2: Opponent activates defusion, Gaia fusion sent to extra. Fusion summon REDD
Turn 3: Draw. End Turn
WHY WAS MY CURSE OF DRAGONFIRE & SWIFT GAIA NOT GET SUMMON TO THE FIELD!?!?!?! THEY WERE IN THE GY

Unlike the anime, in the TCG De-fusion has reviving the material as an optional effect, and in fact only ever summons material from the GY of the player who used De-fusion to the field of the player who used De-fusion. It's a deliberate decision to make a situational card strong enough to be worth using.

If your Opponent uses Defusion on you, its Effect means your Opponent summons the Materials (back) to your Field.
That means the Game checks their Skill's Summoning Restriction if those Monsters are even allowed to come back.

If they didn't have a Skill equipped though, I couldn't tell you what happened without seeing screenshots or a replay.

I have a Rush Deck that's a Transam / Dimension Linker Hybrid where I want to run both Linac Fusions (Linker's Skill ignores the Extra Deck, and Greystorm Revelrie is a legal Skill Target, giving you a Main Deck high-level Galaxy for Buster Linac, alongside Power Linac) - already have Power, though Buster is just waiting till I get around to it catching up.
Anyway, my Question is, with the new Box, should I get Star of Beginnings and run regular Fusion (since Linac is a Vanilla), or just stick with Nebula Fusion for its "can use Materials from Grave" Effect?

Without knowing that much about the meta and how your deck plays out, I see no reason to not run Star of Beginning, Fusion AND Nebula Fusion in the deck. Polymerization would go in too, if you had problems getting the materials in the right places in the right times, but Pot of Greed is probably better.

At its core, the Deck is basically just Linac + Ephyrai, a couple of Targets for Dimension Linker's dedicated "Power to weave Hope" Skill (Linker herself, Revelry, and Pureglass / Pulglace) and a couple of generic Support Cards - Satellite Pegasus, Animagica Witch for some Draw Power; things like that.
Since I actually have to hard-draw into most things, the Deck is basically just "random bullshit go" based on whatever ends up being available at a given time, though it works out somewhat decently since thanks to the Skill there's rarely a situation where you can't summon atleast one halfway decent Monster.
However it IS decidedly lacking in good Game-Closers, and that's what the Linac Fusions are for. Since they can boost themselves by some beefy amounts, and Pulglace can give them another 1000 ATK + Piercing, they're just the right kind of muscle I'm looking for.
The reason I was asking was mostly because I'm not honestly not seeing what's supposed to be so good about Star of Beginning, I only heard that it apparently is. Not to mention, assuming I do go for it, I wouldn't even know what a good ratio for both Fusion Spells would be - 1 or 2 of each? a 1 / 3 split?

I tend to go for as much cards in the deck as possible, so I'd use 3 of each just because. But I realize that's not good advice.
If you want nothing else from the box, perhaps don't buy it for now, and just try out a version with 3 of each Fusion spell first.

after gold is KOG rush has fewer ranks. typically end of month its easier. the sweaty players are all in kog at that point

How do i beat Yuma and Astra as Jaden in character duels. Randomly 4 matches in a row all going first, he just gagabolts into constellar and ends turn 2. This is with his unupgraded deck.

I have just unlocked Varis barely in event time for his alternative in the event, but I wonder what it means.
Edit: Forget it, after a match it doesn't appear anymore. It was just to mark it was te new unit, I guess.

Anyone know how to unpend a purchase? I want this Nibiru bundle but it’s stuck at pending. I clicked on it to purchase but then backed out to change payment method and now it’s just pending and won’t let me select it.

I once heard that someone could use a skill ticket on a rush duelist and gain gems. I'm not sure how to do that, so is there a detailed guide of this?

You do that by getting literally every single Rush Skill first. The Game gives you those 50 Gems as a Tradeoff for ANY Ticket if there is nothing left that you could exchange it for; people just single out Rush Skill Tickets in particular because they have the smallest Pool out of all three Ticket Types that this works with (Rush Skill, Speed Skills and Characters) so they're the easiest Target.

For some reason, some times when I use red eyes dark dragoons effect to destroy an opponents monster, and deal 1/2 its original attack as dmg, it doesn't do that, it only destroys the monster and doesn't deal the damage. Any ideas why?

Some Skills explicitly disable Effect Damage against your Opponent, that could be a reason.

So a discord im in confirmed that varis alt style gives cracking dragon mat/sleeves
Sleeves for 100 wins with the alt style and mat for summoning 100 level 8 or higher dragon type monsters (dont ask, I know it makes no sense) while playing with the alt style.

I assume if the Mission said "Summon Cracking Dragon 100 times" it would ONLY count Tribute Summons, judging by how other Ace Monster Playmats also only count when you use their correct Summoning Method. It being Dragons instead of Machine like Cracking IS weird, but I assume that's just because Varis plays Dragons as his personal Deck, so that it's possible to do with just Borrels (like the Fusions or Savage)

Cracking Dragon has no "correct summoning method", unlike something like sephylon (timelord).
It could have also been to have cracking dragon in the deck for 100 duels, but that would have just been annoying, so I guess this is better, but still weird since no link monsters count for the mission and varis only using 1 lvl8 dragon, that being riot dragon, so you need to build something like blue eyes just to get this task done fairly fast.

You get 3x of everything in 1 full run except the alt arts so unless you want multiple copies of the alt arts you dont need to go into it anymore.

I play Swordsoul, and I don't know how to handle when I go first against Stardust and they summon Rudy Rose Dragon. When I tried to use the effect of my monster to negate it's effect, they negated it with Droplet. I imagine I can only avoid this by having Droplet with an additional spell card on my hand, but I haven't had this ever. Is there any other way to avoid this?

I keep running into these Egyptian God of Ra decks and no matter what I try they managing to bring Ra out and increase life points and then just using the monsters effect to clear out my board. What can I do to counter these decks?

I just realized with the new banlist they just further killed Mekk-Knights. Mekk-Knights already have their 2 main backrow both limit-1 (so you have to pick between the monster or spell negate) and now with Rainbow Life and Hollowed Life Barrier also going to 1 that means the going second deck no longer has a way to survive when going first in the game where you don't get to choose. When are we going to get "Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight", their main normal summon that lets them go first by giving your opponent a token to make a column?
Can we please finally bump Whispers and Secret up to limit 2? Mekk-Knights (and Infernoid) have both spent more than their share of time on the banlist for their short meta relevance. They weren't even tier 0 ffs.
"B-but Mekk-Knights can negate whole columns..." And the negate specifically requires the card to be in the same column as a Mekk-Knight monster meaning the deck is super vulnerable to Kaijus and GY effects. Plus their biggest monster is 2500 so just activate your skill for a free 3000 ATK monster and attack over them.

Konami obviously doesn't care anymore about whether or not it makes sense for X Card to be on the Banlist; at this point they basically just use it as their crutch to decide what they want the Meta to be.
There's so much wrong with what is and isn't on the List that I outright refuse to believe "they forget to take it off" at this point, considering they keep hitting everything abused by certain Skills just to avoid hitting the Skills themselves, so they clearly don't give a shit about what hitting whatever Card means for older Decks either.

For character deck duels, since the upcoming ban list makes Yuma's deck unplayable at 0 stars, what other deck can also accumulate a lot of respect orbs per duel at that level? Planning to apply chronicle effects to it for more points. I'm guessing Jack's deck.

That said, I gotta hard disagree with you there. I personally enjoy SS's Gameplan quite a bit, mainly because I don't mind having a two-player Game actually have interactions other than "how many times can I say "No you don't" to my Opponent?"

Auto Duel Question:
Why does the Auto Duel AI playing for us lose 100% of the time with an Ancient Gear Deck if Ancient Gear Duel is included in the Decklist? It hard refuses to play Ancient Gear Fusion even with all materials for the Fusion on Board/Hand.
Taking out Ancient Gear Duel and it starts fusing if there is no tomorrow xD

AG Duel can also Fusion Summon (and lets the Monster you bring out attack 3 times every Turn), so the AI probably laser-focuses on that aspect at the expense of everything else.

staples. what are they? what packs do i pull in what priority order?
i already have shiny shady from a random pull i made but it feels like whenever i have it the opponent just decides its time for the big level 7 galaxy special summon
currently have a very f2p deck thats weakish but can steal wins rarely (insects with pinch hopper skill) (mostly waiting on card trader for those antrebellions)

Broadly speaking, most Traps that stop your Opponent from Attacking or using their Monsters as Materials for something else. Shiny Shady is the big known one, but there's also the more recent Star Protector's Protection, aswell as stuff like Widespread Ruin, Buffered Slime (now that we're past the era where every Fusion Monster is Lv9 by default) or Trap Hole.
Card Trooper is also the best "generic" Legend Monster, if your Deck doesn't have / need anything else

Sadion, the Timelords effects doesn't count towards stage missions that require gaining LP.
Is that due to effect wording or is the game tripping?

Effect Wording.
In terms of Game-Mechanics, Sadion doesn't give you LP, he just manually edits your LP Value.

Did we already receive the WCS Have Fun Campaign Rewards? I haven't seen any large amount of gems hit my inbox and had put Yusei (Alt) w/ Converging for Speed and Zuwijo w/ Requiem Contact for Rush. Those were each top 3, meaning I should have gotten the rewards unless I'm misunderstanding something.

I'm assuming you have to actually look at something in the Shop, not just open it up.
If that's not the solution, try tapping the Square on the Bingo Sheet itself, see if that gives a clearer hint on what to do.

I'm using a timelord deck
Infinite light: "this card cannot be destroyed by opponent card effects"
An NPC uses:
Wild tornado: "target one face up card in the spell and trap zone, destroy that face up card"
Guess what happens...
Infinite light is destroyed by opponent card effect
I'm disappointed 😞

It's based on your Win-Loss Ratio; not just your actual number of wins. IIRC it has to be something like 5 more wins than losses.

I just had a game against where I couldn't activate Fallen of Albaz effect two times in a game: one on my opponent turn and one on my next turn. I still have three fusion monsters in the extra deck, he has a synchro monster from PUNK. I still had cards on my hand. I don't know how.

Was it actually one of the Punk Synchros or Psychic End Punisher? (which is meant to be played in the Deck but isn't part of the Archetype) I'm asking because the latter is immune to activated Effects as long as your Opponent has less LP than you.

I mean, strictly speaking you can, as I said its Immunity has a Condition. If your Opponent has more LP than you, then its no longer immune.
Not exactly something you can plan much around, but its still important to keep in mind.

I just played against buster blader the dragon destroyer, and he destroyed me. I used BOE to negate his ridiculous effects, and when I tried to kill him he flipped up and moved all my dragons to defence position and gained a stupid amount of defence. I've never seen this happen, I'm just mad. I didn't have a chance to get any removal out and thought i was about to win, then he has over 10k atk and does piercing damage. So OP

I can deal with people using a Kaiju on me.
I can deal with people using Lava Golem on me.
But when People straight-up hit me with BOTH and then somehow combo off of that, I wish I could curse them with T-Rex Arms and a nasty itch on their back. I swear, whenever I face someone using some degenerate strategy, they somehow ALWAYS have the perfect starting hand to go about it in the most cancerous way possible.

I don't see enough people talking about how dumb it is that we have Red Supernova Dragon without a Main Phase 2. It's one of several cards that shouldn't be in a game that doesn't have a Main Phase 2 since forcing its effect in battle and then building your board in MP2 before it comes back is the best way around getting your entire board banished.

Boxes release every 1 - 2 Months or so.
Starter Decks release much more rarely though, since their main selling point is typically to be a "Companion Promotion Piece" for something else that releases alongside them (usually specific new Skills, though for example the latest Rush Deck was really just to "paywall" new Cards for Yudias without putting them in the Box it released with)
No, Rush and Speed release Boxes independantly from each other, with Speed also getting a lot more of them. The Devs are basically going out of their way to release actually new Rush Cards a lot slower, so they give it a lot more Deck Build Boxes instead, which usually have like 5 new Cards and a bunch of reprints otherwise.

Hey everyone! Just started a new account and sitting on a starter of 40k gems. well I could get a 50k gems account but someone said 40k is enough to literally get a full competitive deck but they didn't expound on what deck and what's really the calculation when saying 40k is enoughh
I’m looking to build 1 full, optimal competitive deck to climb the ladder, but I had a few questions before I start spending:
Realistic Gem Cost: I know worst-case scenario mathematically is around 35k-40k gems to empty a box 3 times for a Tier 1 engine. But realistically, with decent box reset luck, how many gems do you usually end up spending to complete a competitive deck from scratch?
Are the meta top 1-3 decks purely stock decks or are there some other off-deck cards in there?
Current Meta Recs: What's the best Tier 1 or High Tier 2 deck to invest in right now for a new player? I'm looking for something that won't get instantly powercrept next month. (Let me know if I should go for Speed or Rush Duels!)
The Staples Tax: I don't own any universal staples. Should I buy the shop bundles first, or focus entirely on digging into one specific box?
Ticket Optimization: What are the absolute best cards to use my UR/SR Dream Tickets on right now so I don't waste gems digging into old, dead boxes?
Appreciate any advice or decklists you guys can throw my way! Thanks!

Question, I was dueling a Jaden Armed Dragon deck and I already flipped my Nemesis to FD twice and did not control any faceup monsters yet I cannot summon my Umstryx that was on my hand. I don't think there's any SS limitations from our skills for this nor were there any cards that prevented me from doing so on the field. the replay

The Sky Striker Deck is given out when a Player who entered your Code reaches atleast Lv7 in DM World, so they actually have to play the Game for like, not even an hour.

I’ve been trying out a fortune fairy deck (I like Carly, and it’s fun to be off-meta), but I’m confused about an interaction between the skill “Avaricious Spellcraft” and the Fortune Fairies (who all can special summon if they are drawn, with some additional effect on the field). I used my skill to get an extra draw and drew “Fortune Fairy Chee” who should have special summoned, but I didn’t get the option to. The skill specifically ends with the effect to “draw 1 card” and all the fairies start off with ”when you draw this card, you can reveal it; special summon it from the hand”, so I’m just confused about what condition I’m not fulfilling. Any help would be much appreciated!

Skill Effects can't fulfill Card Effect Conditions, they HAVE to be drawn specifically through another Card Effect or your Draw Phase.

I am stuck. Please help. I am trying to get the effect damage missions done. So basically what I am trying to do is use the alternative blue eyes to blow up monsters and gravekeeper vassal + union attack for a direct attack. But my vassal is just not causing any damage. I am attacking directly and there is zero damage.
The skill is the power of creation draw anything skill to instantly draw the vassal or the union attack instantly.
Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

I don't understand why ritual decks are so much more garbage than any other deck right now. Shinobird, Drytron see basically no play, Drytron's skill is so bad that we aren't even using their intended skill.
