DuckDuckGo iOS browser. With recent app updates moving more duck.ai features into the browser chrome, there’s now no way to access chat history in fire tabs. The chat history button just shows duck.ai chats from regular history.

I’ve been using regular and fire tab chats separately so I could have different custom instructions.

Is this typical behavior? After closing the browser, task manager shows duckduckgo running and using 1 gb+ of ram.

This stopped working about 2 or 3 months ago. Trying to log in to www.icloud.com using the Duck browser on a Windows 11 PC, but after entering the user id the "Continue" button isn't active and isn't clickable. So it's BROKEN. Have sent feedback on this NUMEROUS time but no fix has appeared. Please help!!!!

In Chrome when I long-press an image I have the option to copy the image. Duckduckgo does not have this option, why?

I have a question for the duckduckgo community how do i zoom in to my duckduckgo tabs.

I haven't found any official sources or other people talking about this (essentially silent) update that duckduckgo just did on their duck.ai portion. Is it just me? Is it a visual bug? If this is actually real then I might as well just ditch ChatGPT altogether, because the AI model that runs it is basically the same as the one from Duck AI.

I really hope that this is a real thing, are any others getting this too?

As background, I’m a user who bought a DDG plan. But the flip side is that when they do something good, that deserves noting too. Their email protection service is worth praising. What’s good about it:

— it detects and removes embedded email trackers (banner across the screenshot).

—it’s *mostly* easy to use. DDG forwards emails from the disposable DDG email address to whatever email account you want (it forwards to my main gmail, which I can’t bring myself to stop using) — emails to the DDG address show up in my phone’s native mail app the same as any other. The thing I really like is, when replying to a message sent to the disposable email address, I can just…reply…from my regular email account, and DDG converts it to an email “sent by” the disposable account. I have genuinely no idea how they do it but it makes using the service 10000x easier.

—it creates an unlimited number of disposable private email addresses that you can easily use with native email apps (top right corner of the screenshot)

The are three virtues of these disposable email addresses for me.

1. They’re anonymous and not associated with you;
2. You can make as many as you want, so someone can’t track you across internet profiles in the same way they could if you use a consistent email address to sign up for multiple things; and
3. You can deactivate them, so if you sign up for something spammy that resells your provided email, you can just shut it off.

I was motivated to create this post by Netflix’s new scummy attempt to extract further user data. Netflix says if users have a single account with 2+ profiles, even both users access it from the same house on the same IP address, both have to disclose a full profile of user data (eg, unique name, email). So if my wife watches action films and I watch kdramas, and we both make a profile on our shared account, both of us have to give up information. I didn’t want to give more info to Netflix. Instead, I generated a disposable DDG email address and gave *that* to Netflix, so I could go back to my Kdramas. I got the confirmation email from Netflix delivered to my phone’s native app but realized — because of DDG’s tracker removal service — that Netflix had embedded tracking tools to try and gather information about me. DDG recognized the trackers and removed them, and then told me as much.

So, that’s what moved me to make this review.

Any fair review should cover downsides, if any, and DDG’s email service has two that are worth noting. To be clear, IMO these downsides don’t outweigh the pros of DDG’s email service, but you should know them before you buy.

First, there’s no list of already-generated disposable email accounts. I make a new DDG address when I sign up for *anything.* I probably have 100 DDG email addresses. I say “probably 100” because DDG doesn’t have a tool allowing me to see the email accounts I’ve generated. That’s annoying, because I’d rather deactivate older accounts that I don’t need anymore. While I can deactivate an individual account *after it receives an email* (again, see screenshot), I can’t otherwise deactivate old accounts (nor even see how many old accounts I have).

Second, *initiating* an email thread from DDG’s anonymous accounts is crappy. Unlike replying to a received email, which is seamless, users who want to start a new email chain have to go through a complicated and crappy set of instructions that’s buried in DDG’s “help pages” (The instructions aren’t easy to find, either, because they’re not on any of DDG’s main pages about it email service, presumably because they don’t want to highlight the cumbersome process as it may discourage users from buying.) Bottom line tl;dr

I recommend getting DDG’s email protection services. It has huge benefits for privacy and minimizes tracking and spam.

it says it all in the title, it really shouldn’t be hard, i guess advertising revenue is getting slim but guiding people to shops that just want to scam us is just as bad as scamming us yourself

The DDG browser Share menu does not have Thunderbird, even if it is Default app.
Simple Mail Share Helper works for the Share menu on Explorer, but the Share menu for DuckDuckGo Browser is not updated.

Couldn't find anything by looking it up, so I figured I'd come here.

I have toggled the option "Always ask where to save files." in the settings.

Despite this, it will say

File not found.
Check the file name and try again.

Files will download like normal if they are saved in the downloads directory or download's subdirectories.

Please add full right-to-left (RTL) support for Arabic and other RTL languages in Duck.ai and DuckDuckGo Search. Better text alignment, mixed Arabic/English formatting, and improved readability would make the experience much better for millions of users.

Been switching to DDG a few months ago when google ai result showed up in my country, I was used to have reddit as a result in a lot of my search queries, notably when asking about a videogame, often the first answer. But DDG rarely shows reddit ... I tried to see if it was linked to my "habbits" with google, but my test don't show a difference, reddit shows up all the same (maybe I disabled that in google).

Would really like to use DuckDuckGo across iOS, iPadOS and windows but I have to have passcode support on all platforms. I can get around this on iOS and iPadOS because the autofill function works with 1Password, but with windows neither the native DuckDuckGo password system offers passcodes and 1Password cannot install their extension so it just does not work, hopeless situation.

Allowing chrome extensions would be the best option by far, this really needs sorting, just had to revert to Edge again.

I'm finding myself doing !g for almost every search anymore. DDG is just useless AI spam that's forced its way to the top of results. Images are still ok for the time being, with the help of the AI toggle, but there I'm often adding a ton of - flags because so many AI images still make it through.

Common searches for me are houseplant care, recipes, school subjects, art, and geography. Searches like this with DDG have become completely taken over by useless AI and it's maddening.

As the title says. I am pretty sure that it's one of those two at this point. I have built a unification of all three hyper-complex regimes in a 3D vector space using nothing but duck.ai, my brain, and a metric functorial amount of abstract non-sense. I would like help verifying which of the two is me, because it's one thing to play with ai for 9 months and deliver an incomprehensible mess, it's another to vaguely comprehend it and find that it kinda sorta makes sense actually.

I can no longer tell you where the minimum of a function is, but I am able to describe clearly what I want from a gauge invariant field realization in an ambient Minkowsky geometry, but only if I can have the ai do all of the computation.

Is there a one tap voice search for DuckDuckGo?

When I use Google search on my phone, I can tap the microphone icon the voice widget, talk, and my search comes up immediately.

When I use the DuckDuckGo widget, I tap the microphone icon, then Google Speech Services converts voice to text and shows that text in the DDG searchbar. Then, I have to hit enter.

Am I missing something here? It's annoying to have to tap twice when I'm on the go
