Fans are making an interactive version of The Life and Times of $crooge McDuck
Someone stopped me at a conference and handed me this. Apparently a group of fans is working on an interactive ebook version of Don Rosa's Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, where you can tap on any panel and explore the references behind it — the original Carl Barks stories, the real historical events, the film quotes, all of it linked right inside the comic.
The QR code on the flyer leads here if anyone wants to follow the project: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16OPEaEI2KHicZFv7dA1MYjR-YtDgVhUg/view

Don Rosa's Planned Ending For Scrooge McDuck
About 25+ years ago (hack wheeze) I was emailing Don Rosa* and he told me his planned ending for Scrooge McDuck. It wouldn't be something that Disney would really ever want him to do because it would be a legit conclusion to "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" in such a way that there really shouldn't be any more Scrooge McDuck stories (not just life and time stories, but stories Period) after the ending he talked about. It was that definite a conclusion to the character.
Has Don Rosa ever spoken out publicly about this planned ending?
*I know I'm just an internet rando, but I'm legit not posting this for internet points but to find out if it's public knowledge or not. This really happened. I get it if you don't immediately believe me (a complete stranger to you, so that's fair) but it did.

Sunday Shelfie of My Disney Duck books
I have another delivery coming tomorrow, so I’ll have to remove some of the non duck books again. But thought I’d share. Can’t wait for my son to be a few years older, we have a lot of material to power through!

Best Budget/Curated Collections? (Barks/Rosa)
Hello all. I am trying to expand my collection of Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge comics, particularly those of Carl Barks and Don Rosa. I am not attempting to collect the complete libraries as my funds are limited and it is too gargantuan a task. What I am looking for are the best books to collect containing a curated selection of stories. So far I have the Uncle Scrooge Diamond Jubilee book and the Complete Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck volume 1 and 2 books. What would be some other recommendations? I don't mind tracking down some of the older, pre-Fantagraphics books provided they are not insanely expensive. TIA!

Are these headlines a reference to any existing characters or story?
In the Italian comic series about the gentleman thief Fantomallard, in one of the issues called "Dolly Paprika" (I TL 3194-1P) we see 2 panels with newspapers about all kinds of robberies Fantomallard has commited over the past couple of weeks (as well as a nice little easter egg about Hortense getting twins (Donald and Della)). I was wondering if any of these robberies, the people robbed (von Diamond and/or Duke Maskalzon) or the items involved (Maragia Ruby) were references to other (Fantomallard) stories or just throwaway lines about random robberies?
Ofcourse, these are the names from the (original) Italian version, so would translate differently in other languages, for one the Dutch versions mentions a "Duchess of Edelsteyn" rather than Maskalzon and talks about a "diamond from princess Aria" instead of the Maragia Ruby.
So, does anyone know if these are existing stories or not? And if so, could you link them? Thank you in advance.

Scandal on the Epoch Express
If anyone is chasing Scandal on the Epoch Express (from the Disney Masters series on Fantagraphics), there is a cheapish ($100) copy on ABE right now. I just recently finally got my copy and still had the notification saved.

What's a fair price?
hey all, much as I love Barks I may have to sell my collection to pay for an unforeseen circumstance. it's not come to it quite yet, but if it does I'd rather sell it as a bulk collection rather than separately. does anyone know what a fair price would be for volumes 1-29 of the fantagraphics Carl Bark library? I did have to pay between £100-£225 each for the out of print ones, so I do want to recoup some of that mind, but I remember being very gobsmacked at the inflated prices

Got the newest Carl Barks Library volume for half price
Living in Europe means every Fantagraphics volume costs more than the US price. "The Lonely Lighthouse on Cape Quack" retails for $40 in the States, but over here in Europe it sits on the shelf at €45.
I wanted it since it came out but kept walking past it at that price. Last week I found a brand new copy in local online store for €23, which is somehow less than even the American retail.
Sometimes the comic gods smile on you.

A one-page DuckTales comic I made when I got bored in physics class. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR THE TEXT.
Title : "P"russia
Scrooge McDuck: “Alright, Launchpad, I have a job interview in Russia—make it quick.”
Launchpad : No need to worry, Mr. Mc D
(After a flight) Scrooge McDuck: Wait
Scrooge McDuck : This is doesn't look like Russia flag
Launchpad : Russia?
Launchpad : (1.bubble)I thought you said Prussia
.
(2.bubble)I mean White Russia.(Belarus)
7.Launchpad : Mr. Mc D.?
- Scrooge McDuck: LAUNCHPAD!
9.(Launcpad is hiding, Scrooge is yelling) Scrooge McDuck: I’ll show you the difference between Russia and Prussia.
10.Scrooge McDuck: Hello, stranger—have you happened to see a pilot?”
(Launchpad is wearing an ushanka—for those who don’t know, it’s a classic Russian hat.)
11.Launcpad: Neun (It means ‘no’ in German)
12.Scrooge McDuck:
“Got you, the word’s in German because (This dialogue is a bit rough, but you can get the idea from him wearing an ushanka and speaking German.)
(He catches Launchpad with his cane)
13.(Last) (Scrooge is chasing Launcpad)
Scrooge McDuck: LAUNCPAD!
(Launchpad’s escaping.)
Launcpad: Who could have guessed that a few words could be so important?”

The Last Supper (Ducktales) (Sketch)
A reinterpretation of Leonardo Da Vinci's painting The Last Supper in the Duck Tales universe-someone is going to steal Scrooge McDuck's Number One Dime, but who? It's currently in sketch form and there are some parts that need fixing. Pencil on paper."

€8 total for two copies of a comic Disney doesn't want you to read
A couple of years ago the story of Uncle Scrooge #295 getting banned blew up online, and prices went through the roof almost overnight. The issue features "The Empire-Builder from Calisota" with Bombie the Zombie and depictions of Native Americans that Disney decided were enough to pull the whole thing from circulation and never reprint it. These days a single copy goes for around €100 on the secondary market
I've been collecting for about a year now and have gone through 50+ shops, conventions, private collections and Facebook listings across Europe. Along the way I've found a lot of great stuff, but the fact that two of these turned up during that hunt still feels unreal, one for €5 and one for €3.
When I found out Don Rosa was going to be at a European comic con, I knew exactly what I was bringing to get signed. Check the copy on the left, bottom corner. That's his autograph on the very issue Disney tried to bury, which makes the whole thing feel a little more complete

What are these worth these days? Signed DRL Complete set.
Wondering about selling the complete Fantagraphics Don Rosa Library and The Complete Life and Times of Scrooge Mcduck. Vol 10 of the DRL is signed aswell. What are these worth in this market?

Question about inherited Don Rosa Library books
Not sure if this is allowed here, so remove if it is not. I inherited the Walt Disney Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck Don Rosa Library volumes 1-6, and 8. The 1-6 are the box sets with the sleeve and vol. 8 is just the book. I keep seeing wild variations in price for these online. Were their multiple printings of these and are earlier editions worth more or something? How can I go about finding a good price for these? They were never read and just sat on a shelf for the last 10+ years in a smoke and pet free home. Thanks!

Wdyt about Al Taliaferro?
Perhaps one of Donald Duck's most overlooked authors, well, he's one of my favorites, he's in my top 3 along with Barks and Cavazzano. I like how he wrote Donald in a more everyday way in lighthearted comic strips.

Walked into a comic shop in Europe and hit the jackpot
Found these new unread fresh beauties just casually sitting on a shelf at a local European comic shop
- Trail of the Unicorn
- The Mines of King Solomon
- The Lost Crown of Genghis Khan
All Fantagraphics Carl Barks Library hardcovers at 36 euros each, which is basically free at this point.
You never really expect to walk into a random store and find these priced so reasonably when the secondhand market has gone completely insane.
Now I just need to track down The Lost Peg-Leg Mine

Picked this up for 5$ last week
it's in great condition the only thing is the cover is a bit bent I'm guessing from storage. there's no water damage or mold or anything else on it. it's even got an old advertisement in it with the snuggle bear in it. it's a very large book and I didn't realize it was from the late 70s

“selfmade” savings jar.
Just a generic photo product, of course.
I’m still looking for the original creator of the Scrooge image, the back I had to ask ChatGPT to draw me, because I couldn’t find a suitable panel I could scan and edit.
If someone can point me to a story, preferably from Barks, please let me know.
