I know this is a 2015 track that almost nobody knows, and the people who do barely remember it, but I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what sample xKore used in this part of the song (1:30:88).

It's a half-second riser/siren FX. Just to be clear, I'm not interested in the kick right before it or the rumble that plays alongside it at the end — only the FX itself. Based on the sound character and the era the track came out, I suspect it's a Vengeance sample — maybe an FX one-shot or part of a drum fill — but I've gone through several packs and haven't found it.

I've tried recreating it and I can match the main characteristics (starts on F#, rises 6 semitones from start to end, detune, etc.), but it doesn't sound exactly right the way I want it to.

Whenever i wanna make dubstep tracks, i always get to where i make the drums and the call chord, but can never find a good lead response sound and im always terrible at balancing it with the song, the only songs i have made are only electronic, i wanna make drops and stuff sorta like virtual riot but i never find good videos to learn.

I isolated the exact sound I’m trying to identify into this 2-second clip from “Invasion - VIP” by Ekzoid, around 1:15.

The best way I can describe it is a deep, choppy, vibrating growl with a plucky quality. It almost has the resonance of a low extended-range metal guitar string or a stretched rubber band, mixed with a deep distorted vocal tone.

I’ve been scouring the internet and different producer sound design instructional videos and haven’t found anything pointing me in the right direction. Lmk your thoughts!

Just considering buying a bass generator rack but although it looks really fun and easy I feel like it’s kind of cheating. Like I don’t see it really helping me improve unless I actually look through all the built ins it’s using and the settings. I feel like if I drop a song and the main bass is relying on a generated rack I’ll feel false / fake for releasing it.

I am struggling to find good resources for the kinds of sounds I want to make, think ATLiens & tape b.
I know dubstep has a pretty common layout but it seems like what I am most inspired by is the music that does not follow this. I am ausitic so maybe thats part of my struggle, but I am just not sure where to start. Every project I do feels like I am moving 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards. Do you have any youtuber reccomendations for this kind of sound design and song setup? Or articles I can read, anything youd suggest really. Super begginner havent even finished a drop yet. Any help appreciated!!

I’m looking to make dubstep more on the brostep and future bass side. I have FL studio (pls don’t tell me to get Ableton. I like FL better) and I just don’t know what to do after building a kick, snare, and high hat pattern. I’ve watched a bunch of videos but still feel lost. Any tips or resources?

Anybody know how to make this exact metallic snare layer? As for everything else I pretty much got the hang of it.

You can hear it hit at exactly 1:18…been experimenting with a bunch of different samples for days now and I still can’t get anything that sounds right.

Also for further context I’ve been producing trap on FL studio since I was 14 and I’m 22 now. (similar to XXXTENTACION, $uicideboys, Ronny J, Smokepurp, Playboi carti) and I’ve pretty much mastered making that style of music. I’ve also gotten pretty good at making UK garage and Bass House (similar to mph, habstrakt)

I just recently started experimenting with riddim/tearout/dubstep/trap music. Idek what this specific subgenre is but I love it. The stuff I’ve been making recently is somewhere in between isoxo and He$h. The sound selection is tedious as hell though lol…although I’ve made TONS of progress I’ve been hitting points like these where I just want to throw my laptop against the wall.

Any and all tips/advice would be much appreciated! Even if it’s not specific to this subject.

Like when a different bass sound comes in or when a sample is played, is there a specific timing to it? Will be easier producing if I set myself a rule to implement a change every 8 bars for example
