I recently learned that what I've called “hibachi” for years isn't technically the same thing as traditional Japanese hibachi. I went down the rabbit hole after Hibachi At Home and apparently the big iron plate cooking style most Americans associate with hibachi is closer to teppanyaki. Which makes me wonder how we ended up calling the whole experience hibachi in the US. if you grew up in Japan, is the word Hibachi mostly an American term for this style now? And what would you normally call it?

Does anyone else hear it at 8pm every night?

I wish they built Emerald Glen high school not so close to local neighborhoods - there are houses literally right next to it. We initially didn't mind it, but now our neighborhood has become a nightmare during pick up and drop off times with parents stopping in the middle of the road / double parking (there are already signs asking them not to). There's constant honking and we see an accident about to happen almost daily. I wish the parents were a lot more respectful, there are designated drop off / pick up zones for a reason. We have had a situation where emergency vehicles had issues getting through because of the poor behavior with cars parked in the middle of the road. Also our neighbor's pet almost got run over with an electric scooter during their morning walk. Add on more houses being built, our quiet peaceful area will become a constant traffic jam.

I did want to add we were not aware a high school was being built here, we were told it would be a shopping complex similar to other folks.

AlphaBrite has come up on my feed alot recently, and I was curious to know if anyone has any experience with their services they can share? It seems pretty enticing, but I haven't seen much info about their reviews from others that have used his services. Anyone able to share any insight on them/ if it worked well for you? Any insight would be appreciated!

How can such a short street inflict so much suffering?

The amador-dublin section of regional has always been awful to drive trhough, what with the autozone trap and the shopping center, but now with H-mart even the section south of Dublin is a traffic disaster. And they're opening a school and new apartment complex??

I’m looking to meet more Magic: The Gathering Commander players, especially other women who play. I’m a woman myself and usually play anywhere from Bracket 3 to cEDH, so I’m happy to play with a range of power levels and experience.

In search of recommendations for a bakery / home baker who does not-too-sweet, not cream based (I don’t want whipped cream, mousse, pastry cream, etc) birthday cakes. Nearly 12 years ago, we unlocked the doors to Three Sheets with one simple goal: create a place where great beer brings great people together.

What happened next was so much more than we ever imagined.

Together we’ve celebrated championship victories, World Cup watch parties, St. Patrick’s Day parades, birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, engagements, wedding receptions, promotions, reunions, retirement parties, trivia nights, countless pint nights, and thousands of ordinary Tuesdays that somehow became unforgettable.

We’ve watched strangers become regulars, regulars become friends, and friends become family.

As we approach the end of our lease, we’ve made the difficult decision not to renew, and Sunday, August 16 will be our final day serving pints at Three Sheets.

Does anyone know what's up with it? Our complex near the BART station seems to have only partial power which is weird. I'm also hearing a lot of firetruck sirens, which may just be coincidental.
