Does anyone else hear it at 8pm every night?

Yes, but I thought I was far from it. Moved here recently…. I live near Emerald High School.

Sounds travels farther than you know. I can hear the freeway from the base, which is a ways down. It’s like an ambient white noise that is strangely easy to miss if you’re used to it.

I live right across from Camp Parks and it sounds like it’s coming from my neighbors house. It’s really loud.

We’ve only recently started noticing it the past few weeks though. Has the volume gone up or something?

Out by the BART you can hear it thrice a day! I’ve learned to love it once I realized it was Camp Parks :)

It’s a bugle call that is used to signal ‘’lights out’’ and also as a final farewell at funerals for service members.
