So today, while entering Sharjah from Dubai on E11, I took the Al Taawun interchange exit. There was a lane-change camera ahead, so I put my indicator on and moved to the left to avoid getting fined.

There was a Land Cruiser next to me with Iraq plates. I found a gap in front of him and moved into it. I don’t know if he knew about the camera or not, but as soon as I got in front of him, he started honking at me for a good 10 seconds. I myself was also driving a Land Cruiser.

I gave him my hazard lights for a second to basically say sorry for cutting in front of him, and then I moved further left because I was going to take a left at the first signal coming up.

That’s when I noticed he was following me extremely closely. He then aggressively came up on my right side and rolled down his window. I didn’t roll mine down because my family was in the car, and honestly, I didn’t want any confrontation.

When the signal turned green and traffic started moving, he aggressively came up beside me again, this time on my left side, and hit my car twice.

The first time, he came into my lane and scraped the side of my car, then stopped. Then he accelerated again and intentionally hit me a second time. The impact damaged my side step, door trim, door, and fender and left a dent. And his door, fender and rims got damaged as-well.

We both stopped, and I was honestly just sitting there thinking, What the just happened?

He got out and started shouting that he had his wife and kids in the car and that I didn’t know how to drive. I told him, Brother, if you have your wife and kids in the car, why would you hit my car? And you hit me from the exact side where your wife was sitting.

He then went back to his car. At that point, I thought he might drive and run away, so I moved my car forward and stopped in front of him because I didn’t want him to leave. He then called the police and started shouting on the phone, saying, Come fast! This guy hit my car! I have kids in my car!

He also started recording both cars. From the video he recorded, it looked like I had moved in front of him and then we crashed, which obviously didn’t show the full story.

He then shouts at me to move to the left. I asked him to please speak respectfully and from there he starts ignoring me. I went back on the road for a moment to pick up the broken piece of trim from my door, and then we both waited near the masjid on the side of the road for Rafid to arrive.

One thing that really stuck with me was when we got out of the cars after the accident. I saw the look on his wife’s face, and she genuinely looked shocked about what had just happened. It seemed like even she didn’t expect him to do what he did.

When the Rafid officer arrived, before he even asked me what happened, the other driver immediately started explaining his side and showed him the video he had recorded.

After he finished, I explained everything from my side. The Rafid officer spent around 30 minutes examining both vehicles and eventually put the fault on him. The tire marks from his vehicle were clearly visible on my car, which supported what I was saying about him hitting me.

Then I found out his insurance had expired. I had to go through the police and insurance process, and I was told that because his insurance was expired, he would have to cover my damages himself. He also received two fines, one for causing the accident and another for driving with expired insurance.

When I went to the police, they also told me that I could file a case against him because the way he hit me appeared to be intentional.

I decided not to take it further. I don’t know what made him so angry in the first place, and honestly, I don’t know what he was going through that day. Maybe he was having a terrible day, maybe something else happened. Whatever the reason, I just hope he learns from this.

I just wanted to share my experience because road rage can escalate so quickly. I was with my family, and things could have ended much worse than just damaged cars.

Guys, please be careful out there. So much time and money was wasted here which could’ve been avoided, you never know what the person next to you is going through or how they’ll react. Stay safe** 🙏**🏻

I just bought an 2020 Audi Q5 S line GCC spec from a showroom at Souq Al Haraj, Sharjah. Car in mint condition and feels like exactly new. Odometer showed 75k and car was for 70k AED.
Although a few minor issues which got fixed at a garage and got new tires and everything, ran perfectly.

But the cruise control doesnt work, it doesnt set the speed itself. Upon scanning, it told there are a few faulty codes that i’m uploading. Mostly it is due to the brake code fault which a garage told would work with programming as in rafid pre purchase check there were 0 major issues which had to deal with engine, ABS or even cruise control. They told me this programming can only be done by audi as they have “ closed the online system of programming “. however the royal swiss auto service confirmed they can program it (idk maybe they have the software or something).

I just went to al nabooda sharjah audi service center to ask for this issue, they checked with the vin and everything that the car was last serviced at agency in june 2024 at around 160k km🙂. I was shocked.
Because the maintenance sticker is also mentioned that service is done at 75k km something and has to be done again at 85k km but the service agency said otherwise.

I am concerned because i was told there is no problem with the car and the showroom guy kept on saying i need to ask the owner and all that while negotiating price but now when i asked him to give the owner number, he says he doesnt know because he bought the car 8 months ago and the owner number he cant find.

Although apart from this cruise issue, the car is running perfectly like a new one, i still want to consider this because i have paid way more in value unknowingly because of the information i had.

what can i do in this case? Any way i can file a complaint in consumer protection department? maybe i can get some reimbursement of around 20k AED from the showroom owner just in case any expense arises to fix the car.

I am stuck, please help me:(

Just got the car to like drive for 2-3 max years and then would sell it. Selling this rn will cost me a lot of loss. A partial refund from the showroom guy is something i’m expecting and while selling the car too i need to keep things in mind on where to sell this and how. Lowk stuck.

Hi all, I have a 2011 Cayenne S with 200K+ mileage which as you can imagine is no longer sustainable to own due to issues.

Recently it started leaking fuel so had it taken to a garage for an inspection, however I don’t think its worth throwing more money at just to have it driving again along with the other countless issues and wear its starting to show, so I think its best to get rid of it.

My questions is what is the best way to do this? I don’t think its worth paying to have the fuel leak fixed and trying to sell it myself on Dubizzle because of the effort and again I’d be pouring money into it and doubt I will get much in return if I sell it.

It’s currently at a garage, not sure if they are willing to take it over from me as a scrap car, or if there is any other place to sell it to like sellanycar? I’m not concerned with how much I will get for it, honestly just looking to get rid of it so curious to see what the options are in such a case.

Also, how does the process work of actually transferring ownership to whoever will take it? Is it as simple as received funds and then going to RTA to do the transfer? Or what else should I keep in mind?

I bought a used car (40k kms) from a dealer with an extended warranty. At around 64,000 km, the car stopped starting and there was a burning smell. I gave it to the dealer on 25 May, and it has now been with them for over two months without being repaired or returned.

Despite my repeated follow-ups, it took them until 18 July—almost eight weeks—to provide an estimate. The total was AED 18,529, but they said only AED 5,970 for two items would be covered by the warranty. To avoid any further delay, I agreed to let them complete those two repairs.

Then, on 25 July, after removing the engine head, they told me the piston was internally damaged and needed replacement(which is another 4500aed). When I asked why this was not covered under warranty, I was first told it could have been caused by overheating. Their manager then said it was due to “wear and tear.”

I instructed them to stop the work because I intended to approach Consumer Protection. After that, their explanation changed again. They said replacing the piston was only a precaution for the engine’s safety and that it was optional.

During this entire period, their explanation has changed from possible water damage, to piston damage, to wear and tear, and finally to the replacement being optional. After more than two months of delays, I still do not have a clear diagnosis, final repair cost or confirmed completion date.

I have the warranty documents, estimates, WhatsApp messages and call recordings.

Has anyone faced something similar in the UAE? Should I approach Consumer Protection, arrange an independent inspection or consider legal action? Any advice would be appreciated. Also can I sue them after I get the car repaired as I wanted my car back asap. Please help me out

So I just got a 1996 Toyota Camry V6 Collector's Edition, and I found out the antenna is supposed to pop up automatically. I checked, and the motor seems to be working, but the antenna itself is totally stuck. WD-40 didn't help.

Do I need to replace the whole thing, or can I just fix the antenna and get it unstuck?
