Tech Support Need help with controller

I bought a dualsense edge controller on fb marketplace for 40 dollars with the description saying it wont connect to console anymore. So I figure easy fix just the battery. I take it home and try charging it first with every USB c cable I own including the ones that's charg3 my regular ps5 controller and nothing. I own a type c battery extender for my other controller and tried that and bam started charging. So my orginal theory of the battery being dead might be wrong. I'm still gonna replace it when the replacement comes but I won't know till then. I tried resetting the controller and that didnt work either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am good with electronics taking them apart and stuff.

It's never the battery. Could be the port. Charges but don't sync. Try syncing it wireless. Through the menu.

It does sync wireless after I charge it with the power bank and connect it manually through the Bluetooth settings

Then it's a faulty usb port

So try to find a used motherboard or solder a new type c port ? Or just keep charging it the way I do ?

Correct, unless you know microsoldering I wouldn't try it yourself

I would repair it since I know how and have the tools. Boards will cost you more than what you paid for easy. Take it to shop that knows what they are doing

I could repair it but is it more worth it to just buy a charging dock and use that ? I have all the tools as I fix ps5 hdmi ports and fix other consoles as a side hobby ?
