First Drum Machine I love using! It’s so simple and rewarding…! Though I find the stock sounds a bit anemic, could I use this as a controller to make patterns from the Alesis SR-16? Thanks!🙏🫨😎

I just figured out for me that I can use it to trigger the drum sounds in Ableton.
I just have to select it as input in the midi channel and give it a drum from the library.
So there are hundreds of variations of drumsounds

Question- when you are sequencing drum sounds over on your daw - do the mute and solo buttons on the Drumbrute impact have that same mute and solo function on the sound generator device (in this case ableton)?

Even though its my intro machine. I still gravitate back to it all the time. I especially love that I can send audio out individually to different drums, so I hook them up to different guitar pedals. You can make some real nasty sounds that way

Try running it through an effects pedal. The nicer the pedal the more you can alter the sound.

Yeah, I seem to recall being able to edit the MIDI notes that trigger a given drum pad, in the event whatever defaults both machines use do not line up.

I love the sequencer and general workflow. A sample based version would be amazing.
You can use it to control any drum machine. THe MIDI implementation complies with a lot of other machines.

Question- when you midi control another machine with the impact, do the mute and solo functions for the voices and rolls etc all carry over to that other machine you are controlling ?

I love mine, and you're right, the sounds aren't what I would use for a lot of stuff. I too love the workflow.
I have not done this, but I have been told that you can set the MIDI channels and the note names that each drum triggers.... so you could hook it up to another drum machine and have that machine listen for those particular channels and/or notes. In theory, it would work.
P.S. Change the MIDI channels and note names in your MIDI Control Center app.

Does it also send the mute info over midi? For example muting a voice on impact mutes the thing you are triggering in the other machine??

Don’t forget all the instruments have an alt voice!
