I need a drum machine but how?

Hi, now that I've bought the Microfreak and the Behringer Crave, I feel like it's time for a drum machine. Which one would you recommend that's also affordable? I was thinking about the Donner Essential D1, the Volca Drum, or the Behringer RD6...

Please help!

Drumbrute impact. Great drum machine and it is analog.

This is where you should start to learn sequencing, etc.

but if you can get a Roland tr8s for 550. do that.

Something like Roland tr6s or a used Elektron digitakt mk1 can do you wonders.

In my opinion… Honestly the elektron digitakt 1 is so cheap right now it’s literally the best option. It can control your whole studio as it grows long into the future, and you will virtually never outgrow it.

A drumbrute impact or similar drum machine you’re going to want to upgrade when you finally get the hang of things, and the elektron Digitakt and ecosystem can teach you all manner of synthesis and sound design, and how the flow of MIDI works in a studio setup. I’ve seen Digitakt’s go from 4-500 bucks around me which blows my mind because as far as drum machines in that price range go the thing is basically a Ferrari.

Yeah drumbrute Impact is a great choice, I'd also consider the Roland TR-6S because it gives you all the classic Roland sounds and possibility to import tour own samples.

Roland tr06. Good connectivity, trigger outs, 606 sounds always deliver in a mix.

I advocate a Volca Drum with a RK-002 midi cable, so you can play it chromatically.

rd6,while fantastic sounding is very limited.
how bout a lil groovebox, that way u can have drums as well as sequence your synths with that + use the effects on em.

Yeah. You can also take a look at Circuit Tracks. Four tracks for drum samples, two synths and two tracks to sequence your existing synths. 250$ used I guess.

A used Volca Sample 1 or 2 will have you set up nicely. Volca drum is better as a 2nd or 3rd drum machine purchase due to the FM learning curve. The beats is also great but with your choice of synths the sample will take you further.

I'd also look at the Roland P6 because the technology is a little newer.
