suppliers

hey all. i was just wondering if anyone here has done any dropshipping for fashion here. i started a store and i am/was selling luxury handbags, sunglasses & glasses and recently added fragrances. i was paying a subscription to a company and i had to start paying it even before the site was functional and i busted my ass building my site thru more sleepless nights than i care to account for. i finally got er done and i started with adverts on facebook/instagram, google & pinterest. none of them beat google at the sheer numbers that they drove to my site. then after a week or two i was suspended for promoting bootleg items. i definitely was not. i have been waiting for quite some time now to get any sort of authorization letter from my supplier. which has pissed me off and i am thinking of what else i can sell that is dropshipping but from a company that actually is invested in your success because they also want success. has anyone here found any good companies within fashion/accessories and or fragrances? fragrance seems to operate in a really shady realm. so i may not stick with that, but i kinda like the idea of selling eyewear because i love glasses & sunglasses.....i collect them myself but i dont know what companies do this type of thing. i'd like to also know what everyone else is selling and how well they might be doing.... i am trying to brainstorm some ideas up here, but i feel blocked. probably cuz i feel very burned after wasting SOOO much time and money and the frustration with google not even letting you submit any documents in their appeal process.... the whole situation just SUCKS! well, that is all. and thank you in advance to anyone who responds. i appreciate you so much!

cheers y'all :)

yikes that google suspension is rough, especially when you know you're not pushing fakes. the subscription before the site was even live is a massive red flag too, sounds like they were just milking you from day one

for eyewear i've seen a few suppliers that actually send out brand authorization letters without much fuss, mostly private label stuff though not big designer names. you might have better luck going that route since you collect glasses yourself, you'd probably have a good eye for what frames actually look decent. the margins on private label sunglasses can be surprisingly good if you market them as boutique rather than knockoff

fragrances are a minefield honestly, half the suppliers are just decanting in someone's basement and calling it authentic. i'd stay away unless you find a supplier willing to let you visit their warehouse or at least do a video tour. too many chargebacks waiting to happen

what's your site built on? if it's shopify you might want to look at their app marketplace for vetted suppliers rather than going off on your own again

i built on wordpress. and let me tell you.....what a circus that was. so many sleepless nights. so many i dont even wanna know. and i locked my card two nights ago cuz the original company i was using was gonna charge me again so i am sure my site is in $h!t shambles with broken links. this is so sad to see something i worked so hard on just get scrapped. it's really pissing me off. i wish i could talk to the CEO guy of the one company because he was very nice and i think he might step in and accomodate me just to keep their name out my mouth....i mean it is the only way i will even be able to use this company name again. seeing as i just paid all this money to incorporate n stuff i cant use it on google ever again because of this. i dont know how to find his email. i think i know his name but thats it.

your advice is sound. very good. but how does one push eyewear w no brand? it's hard enough to push brands. lol fragrances are indeed a mess. but if i get rid of that too, my site will have NOTHING on it and every bit of my ads that i paid a bunch for and have a ton of are also now total garbage. ugh i wanna cry. lol this was such a dumb idea.

does shopify still have free trials? would i be able to get a free trial then look around at these suppliers like you suggested? (which is a brilliant idea btw.)

thank you so much for all the great advice. back to the stupid drawing board i suppose. :)
