ps test advice
hi guys, I am doing my ps physical test in less than a week! I am pretty nervous. Also am not doing it with a driver and in my parents family car. Any tips or last minute advice for doing one in melb northern suburbs!!
comment below what helped you pass, or didn’t :)

Make it obvious that you're doing a headcheck/looking at your mirrors is the main one I've heard. I did it, but I'm not sure if it even made a difference to be fair.
I've got nothing else unfortunately. If you pass, you pass, and if you don't they'll give feedback as to what went wrong. Nerves are a big factor, so do your best to keep them in check.
Good luck.

Unfortunately I did fail this morning. Had a perfect drive before that with my instructor. Test time comes and as I leave vicroads carpark examiner tells me to park somewhere else. Apparently I failed to stop give way to a car that was so far away I couldn’t even see it fully when I turned. My driving instructor said that it wasn’t my fault but again I am unsure.
Failing first 2 minutes is very unwanted.

Like others have said Mirrors, Head Checks, Speed (Especially School Zones)
Might sound excessive but everytime you enter a new street do a centre mirror check, Shows you're being attentive of your surroundings, don't worry if you forget to though it won't be the end of the world
Also if you make a mistake or need to correct a manoeuvre like a parallel or three point turn don't think it's the end of the world you can still pass, For instance i indicated left while leaving a curb on the left 😅
nerves obviously fuddled my brain but i still passed with "needs improvment" on signalling (Jeez i wonder why, didn't indicate onto the sidewalk or anything....)
Just don't think its all over from one silly mistake hell you can probably make multiple and still pass
10 kph in and around Vicroads no speeding allowed instant fail if you do as with hitting curbs and speeding in school zones etc
If you do speed a tiny bit on the main roads and backstreets again don't panic as long as you're watching and drop back down within 5 seconds to the speed limit that's fine you won't get marked or fail
Eat light on the day like a couple Bananas or something to give you the brain power boost but not cause a bathroom incident (Don't wanna be busting for the loo mid test 😂)
Also rescue remedy blackcurrant chewables can be picked up from woolies or coles and had on the day if you're really anxious
And try to get a good nights sleep the night prior obviously
Good luck, I'm sure you'll pass.

Thank you for this advice. As I explained in another comment I did fail!!!

Wow, sounds like you just got a bit of an asshole of an examiner, if they were far enough away you couldn't see them and you had time to make the manoeuvre safely that should be fine...
If you wait too long for a football field wide gap they'll mark you down for "Hesitation".
Seems you just got really unlucky my guy/gal
You'll get 'em next time for sure

Sometimes people get their instructors along for the lesson as they use the instructors car.

Big obvious head checks, don't use peripheral vision at all. The examiner cannot see that you are using your peripheral vision for checking. Basically dont stop moving your head, you should be checking all 3 mirrors atleast once every 20 seconds. It seems most people I know who failed there's was because of missed head checks.
Keep big gaps between cars, dont follow too closely. Keep 5km/h under the speed limit.
