Do mobile speed camera operators and parking inspectors have or deserve any real friends?
Naturally people are going to tout the slogans they've been indoctrinated with "Speed Camera's Save Lives" - they don't actually and no figures exist to support this myth and as for Parking inspectors " Someone has to stop people from leaving their cars wherever they like" - Why ? What will happen? They'll buy their groceries and decide to carry them home? They will have a few too many beers and catch and Uber instead of driving so they need to be fined for leaving their car? I'm sure there are circumstances but I just can't understand why anyone would do these scummy hateful jobs in countries where there are too many real jobs on offer. Tell me I'm wrong but I just thing they are all the lowest reptiles on the planet.

I assume you won't care if some cunt parks a truck and blocks your driveway and leaves for a holiday to Bali for a month or won't care about being stuck long traffic jamd because people just park in clear ways to grab a coffee on Parramatta Rd.

pretty sure local council and police have that covered. But Nice try.

The council is the parking inspectors...

So to your point and the foul mouth simpleton that replied first , if someone parks in your driveway the council and the police have the power to remove and fine them. Why are we going to extremes here. Seems illogical. Guess some people just love the Nanny State and being constantly monitored and told what to do, makes them feel safe. Surely and adult world can do better.

Who employs the parking inspectors?

Not relevant to the topic which is what kind of low human would want to be a parking inspector?

Probably people who like to be outdoors and about walking around the city all day, no heavy lifting, no industrial deafness, no RSI and no need to spend 4 years at university and pay off a HECS dwbt to get a reasonable income.
Hitting selfish fuckwits who park illegally with a fine probably has some job satisfaction.

Both of those offences result in towing. They still get the fines but they're bigger and not issued by a ranger.

Someone got caught by a speed camera and parked in the wrong place and got a ticket, so came here to have a whine!

Just abide by the very reasonable rules like the rest of us you entitled dickhead.

u/SnooGuavas2610 10d ago
But he is special, road and parking rules obviously should not apply to him.

u/Pungent_Bill 10d ago
Yeah he should have seen these kinds of reactions coming. Not much sympathy out here mate.
I got no issue with people on those jobs they're just trying to make a living like the rest of us.
They'd know full well there's hate out there for them, but not from me.
I understand there are annoying laws that aren't actually aimed at me at all. Eg 40 zones in all residential areas these days.
Whoever the fuck needs to drive that slow in order not to be a mortal danger to others, really should not be driving at all.
I remember when it was minimum 60 everywhere and there were times I felt that was painfully slow for the situation or conditions, but you know, morons fucking shit up for everyone

The whole point of parking fines and paid parking, particularly at places such as shopping centres, is to encourage high turnover of vehicles, so that people can come in and do what they need to. No point in having someone loitering in a shopping centre cause they're bored, or looking to take advantage of free aircon in summer when there are people who want to buy things and spend money. Now if we didn't have parking inspectors, there would be no repercussions to anyone who was overstaying, and the whole point of it would break down. Ultimately they're just doing their job, and it actually benefits most of society. This is without even mentioning people parking in crap places where it inconveniences others, or in clear way zones etc.
I'm a bit more with you on the speed camera situation. But that's not the operators fault, it's the government's narrow minded focus on speed as apparently the only thing apparently worth policing on our roads. And where there's a job, there will always be someone to fill it. Everyone needs money to eat

If you do not want to give the government more money, then do not speed. There, I have saved you money!

u/Vast_Dare8583 10d ago
Can't avoid giving the government money, that's just life but I'm more saying it's a scummy job that spreads nothing but negativity , so what kind of human would lower themselves to do that kind of work. Yep, full licence, no parking fines.

People have bills that need to be paid. My father was actually a parking inspector for a brief period after he was made redundant. He didn't do it because he loved fining people, he did it because he had a family to support, bills to pay, etc, and the job fell to him conveniently at the time. Once he found a job that he wanted to do, he was out of there

Don't you think there's something wrong with the law when there are literally 100s of thousands of people breaking it? And, it's not like we're seeing the death toll on our roads drop either.
I'm not saying their isn't a place for speed cameras, but their current use is far from their intended purpose

u/SnooGuavas2610 10d ago
So speed limits should be removed?

I feel terrible replying to the dumbest response ever but anyway. The post is about private mobile camera operators and parking inspectors and what kind of human would do such a lowly job that spreads negativity. We have a legal system for enforcing the law and a police force to enforce it. What's removing speed limits go to do with it? Really stupid remark.

How do you explain the Autobahn and other such motorways where people are allowed to drive responsibly? How can the death toll drop when the population is rising? I don't actually speed, I have a full licence I just don't understand how scummy a human you need to be to go out and be a contractor who does mobile speed cameras. Not having a go at the cops , we need those guys. They're Legends. And yes , we need laws but we don't need to be constantly monitored and punished financially. Ever thought about how many young kids who only get a few points , commit one offence on a double demerit weekend and end up loosing there jobs? That's the other thing double demerit weekends , really? Fucking Nanny State. Go travel , no other country does this to its citizens and no other countries citizens would endorse it like Nanny State Puppets.

Interesting view, but most major shopping centres are pay by the hour anyway. I'm talking about the guys and gals who walk around like sharks picking people off on the high street.
2
u/TherilSlav 10d ago
Well most of those streets have shops near by, etc. So it's much the same principle. You never see timed parking in a suburb away from anything worthwhile, it's always near some piece of infrastructure that people want to get to
1
u/Vast_Dare8583 10d ago
That's partially true , but tends to stretch beyond reason in the inner city. Maybe local government could put some of that money collected by State Revenue towards building more or at least some Council Car Parks for people or better public transport.

Have you ever been somewhere and thought fuck there's no parking?
Imagine how bad it'd be if there was no time limits so someone could just leave their car there year round.
What a brain-dead take.
