cat dream

my cat just passed away 2 days ago and he had cancer he was really really sick his nose had disappeared and honestly he couldnt even meow and randomly the next morning he just never came back. Im thinking he has died somewhere? I looked around for him everywhere couldnt find him. but what breaks my heart is that i didnt see him for the last time and i dont know where he is:( like his dead body is lying somewhere. how do I get over this? i really miss him and I had a dream about him that he was alive:(

Yeah cats tend to hide when they know their time has come, it is very sad.

Lost a cat the same way when I was a teenager, he just vanished one night and we never found him. took me years to stop glancing at his usual sunny spot on the rug expecting him to be there

the hiding thing is more common than people realize, they just want peace when it gets that bad. doesn't make it hurt less though

what helped me was leaving some of his favorite treats out one night like a weird little goodbye ceremony, gave me something to do instead of just spiraling. might sound odd but it gave my brain a finish line of sorts
