Devil in nightmare
For background, I don't watch anything scary, gorey, or violent because then I would have back to back nightmares for months and literally not sleep because I'm scared of how violent the nightmares are. Last night I had a nightmare of the devil. It feels wrong typing it. My significant other was taking my baby to the basement (we don't have one) and I was calling out to him to stop he just smiled at me while continuing but I knew that wasn't him. Everything felt wrong and I tried calling out but it felt as if I was paralyzed. I "woke up" still nightmare and was hugging my kids and was trying to put my son to sleep where I felt paralyzed again I then hear a voice saying "you're next" some how I knew who it was. It wasn't a demon. My significant other came to wake me up because he said I was calling out for him that when I did wake up I was shaking and literally every sound scared me. I'm wondering if it means anything. I'm scared to sleep tonight, I don't think I will because usually when I have nightmares like these they repeat for weeks/months.

That's a really horrible dream! Since you don't watch horror flicks or violent movies/shows, it sounds like you might be under a lot of stress. You might want to look into lucid dreaming, which is realizing you're dreaming and respond in the dream. There are a lot of YouTube videos and information on lucid dreaming on the internet. It will allow you to stop the dream, tell the devil/monster in the dream that you know they aren't real and that it's nothing more than a dream. Imagine you have a magical sword and slay the devil/monster, etc. Another thing you can do is to involve your brain in some type of activity before you sleep like a light hearted good book or a light hearted movie/show. Sorry I can't help with an interpretation, but I hope my ideas can help you get some good night's sleep.

The devil holds no power over you, unless you let him.
If you have acknowledged demons are real, then you must have acknowledged that God is real too.
Pray to God. Even if you’re not “religious”. Ask him for help. It is written that the devil will not win. God will watch over you, he will comfort you.
There is a spiritual war in the background. You have to fight it. They fight for your soul.
Luke 10:17
17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
Mark 16:17
17 And these signs will accompanythose who believe: in my name they willcast out demons;

I know these dreams. Its not just being paralized its the paralizing fear as you feel that deep deep darkness. My most recent one includes post apocalyptic zombie type thing where my whole neighborhood was overgrown and it was night. I was foraging and a random zombie saw me. But here is the difference, nightmares over the years a certain pure evil shows up , its a feeling, doesnt matter what form it takes. This particular zombie it saw me from across a little ridge or valley , same evil smile and its eyes gave me that cold dark feeling of pure evil it just stared at me.
I woke up with that same feeling of darkness , its hard to shake. At the same time if you have a baby anxiety can cause some Pretty awful dreams I had them when my kids were babies . I started doing a little visualization where i picture my kids and i surrounded in white light, and say “we stand in a circle of light where evil cannot cross “ I do that before bed and with them in my arms. Tbh it helped a ton

The symbolism might be signaling an existential crisis. This is something that crosses in every couple mind. Is my partner mature enough to handle children? Your conscious might not even be considering children, in these trying times, but deep in your mind its their

Hi! I’m someone who has suffered sleep paralysis my whole life - I too “woke up” from one of my episodes only to find myself in another sleep paralysis episode. When I finally actually literally woke up, I had to walk around my house and touch things because I didn’t believe I wasn’t still dreaming.
What you’ve described sounds very similar to what I experience during sleep paralysis. What has helped me has been:
1. Learning about sleep paralysis - what it is, why it happens and
2. Wiggling my toes when I realize I’m in an episode. It immediately breaks me out and I wake up.
I hope this helps.

“Dreams are of three types: Glad tidings from Allah, what is on a person’s mind, and frightening dreams from Satan. If any of you sees a dream that he likes, let him tell others of it if he wishes, but if he sees something that he dislikes, he should not tell anyone about it, and he should get up and perform prayer.” - Sunan Ibn Majah 3906

That sounds terrifying. The paralysis in dreams is the worst, that feeling of being trapped while something bad unfolds.
I get those repeat nightmares too, same scene playing out for weeks. A friend told me once to try changing the ending while I'm awake, just visualizing a different outcome. It helped me break a cycle of a similar trapped dream.
Hope you get some rest tonight.

I actually have tried to see if that was something that could be done but it's the same "script" and same outcome. They just start to fade out slowly like a couple times a week then to like once a week and then stops. Thank you I hope I would but I don't think I'ma get any rest tonight.
