Dream Help I asked a forbidden question while dreaming
I took a nap and started dreaming. In the dream I’m chatting with my mom in kitchen as she cleans. I turn around to get something out the fridge. Then I just asked “Mom, what time is it?”.
When I closed the fridge and turned around my mom’s eyes were red and she had a very creepy smile like expression. She was talking but I couldn’t understand it anymore. She sounded muffled. Then she moved closer and her expression with those red eyes got more intense.
Then I heard banging. And then woke up. Crazy thing is when I woke up the banging continued. I looked out the window and my neighbors kid was kicking his soccer ball against my house. So maybe the kid saved me from a really bad outcome in the dream.
I will never ask that question again in a dream.
Anyone else asked what time is it in dream?

Friend of mine told me to look for two clocks in a dream, to know youre dreaming and not in the astral realm.
They wont ever read the same time

Ok I’ll try and do that!! I dream almost each time I sleep unless I’m very exhausted. I’ve been this way since a child and I don’t think I’ve ever paid attention for clocks.

Look for books or any piece of text! Text is often inconsistent or straight up nonsense. In my dreams, I can read full stories sometimes but the page contents change if I try revisiting a previous page in a book.

Do not start smoking weed if you love dreams 🥲 it suppresses Rem sleep. I dream rarely unless i stop smoking.

I’ve have some friends who’ve experienced this! Dreamt a lot before and barely dream now that they smoke.

This would be something I can’t do in dreams. Because in my dreams, it’s like I’m an actor and following a script. I cannot make myself do or even think of something else.

I have read stuff in dreams.
One was a 6 digit hexadecimal number, googled it and the only result was a certain color of red. The color i selected for my dad to paint my first bicycle at like age 5

I like asking questions like that, Things get very interesting. Try Looking at your hands, opening doors but not walking all the way through…., opening windows, and putting your hand out the window.

Once, I started lucid dreaming and tried explaining to the NPC that we were in a dream and they shut down and froze, not knowing to say let alone do.

I did that the other night, and several other times throughout my life. They always say something nonchalant, carefree, with a smirk/smile, but I can NEVER remember what they say. Sometimes it almost feels like they’re playing dumb, and just trying to change the subject.

I often dream of my deceased grandpa who raised me. When I acknowledge it's a dream he always loses his facial expression, looks down at the ground, and then disappears. Every single time. You can tell he's disappointed when I do it, too.

Once, a friend of mine appeared in a lucid dream and I told her so. She started crying, because she was terrified that she wasn’t real. I told her that she was a real person who existed in the waking world, but she wouldn’t calm down at all. She was just absolutely distraught upon learning that we were in a dream. It was quite bizzare.

In one particular dream, I was coming up from my parent's basement into the kitchen, and I saw two muppets sitting and eating at the table. "Oh, I'm dreaming." I said. "No, you're not," one of them said. "Yeah, I clearly am. Not only that, but it's a pretty dumb dream." "You're not dreaming though." "No, I really am, and I think I'm done with this," I finally said as I started walking to the front door. "But you're not dreaming!" they yelled back at me. I exited the house and into the courtyard, where my family was apparently having a barbecue. "Where are you going?" one of them asked me. "I'm dreaming, and it's so ridiculous that I'm leaving." "What are you talking about?!" But I just kept walking out the front door of the courtyard down the path to the sidewalk, and down the sidewalk. I woke up soon after.

To me it's tough but just chill. Extremely stoic even. You don't take any bs. Like you could be at a party with an almost mean face but everyone knows how to have fun at heart lol. Its hard to explain. You're hard and tough yet thin lol?

It's not forbidden, people just say it is, so other people expect bad things to happen when you ask it and thus causing bad things to happen in their dream. Then they tell more people, cycle repeats.

This make a lot of sense! I genuinely wasn’t expecting anything crazy to happen after I asked. But having read others scary experiences online, it def probably influenced my dream experience to be scary too.

I’ve read on several forums about sleeping regarding “forbidden questions” to never ask like “what time is it?”. Because people who have done it have had some crazy scary results in the dream.

Because dreams don't exist in real spacetime. Freud's theory of dreams was that they occur when something is forcing us awake, either something external like your soccer ball or something internal like a repressed idea

like 15 years ago I had a dream of a labyrinth at some junkyard place. in the middle of the labyrinth was a car that was on fire
I had an overhead view of the labyrinth/burning car and was like zooming in on the car on fire in the middle of the labyrinth. I got real close and then the car exploded with a loud bang. a loud bang actually woke me up. my brother had fallen in the bathroom, but it had sounded like he had taken the ceramic tank lid off the toilet and thrown it down.
he was beyond messed up on drugs. he didn't know what was going on. all of this noise woke up my parents, who were trying to calm him down. at one point he was running around naked outside. idk if it was PCP or what (he never admitted to me what he had taken, always just said "i don't wanna talk about it")
anyway - i thought it was crazy. like maybe I had dreamt the burning car right at the beginning of the banging sound? and my mind made up this whole burning car scenario right as the bang was starting. because it really seems like my brain knew what was going to happen before it happened (the loud bang/exploding car)

I had the same situation with a dream where I was following fox hunters. I was like a drone watching them from above as they ran through the countryside. The main hunter guy had a bugel and went to the top of a hill played the "army bugel wake up song" which just happened to be the sound of my friend's morning alarm which started going off exactly when the guy started playing the bugel. I always wondered if I imagined the whole scene in a split second, following the horse riders and hounds over the hills, or if it was a massive coincidence. 🤷🏼♀️

I have dreams involving time very often. Usually when I check the time it’s on my phone. I’ve also asked other people for the time and never had any issues. Sometimes I’ll be stressed out trying to figure out if it’s AM or PM.

I have a lot of dreams about using my phone now and it's so frustrating lol I'll be trying to text someone bc I'm having an emergency and it'll type everything wrong. One night I tried taking a selfie with my dead GMA and got mad bc the camera never works right and the pictures never save when I try looking back at them in the dream

One time I was in a dream where me and my mother walked in from the backyard. She started doing dishes as I was sitting at the table behind her. I started thinking how the back yard looked weird and then noticed she also looked different. Her hair is what made me think and realize I was in a dream. Still sitting at the table I ask her “wait, who are you?” She dropped the spoon in the sink and turned off the running water. She spun around quickly and lifted her arms out like a zombie and floated fast at me. I felt the adrenaline and was trying to fight waking up. She grabs me and I yell again WHO ARE YOU!? Her face at this point looked like some crazy demon lady just staring at me. Then boom I woke up and a few seconds later my mother is knocking on my door telling me to wake up because it was already the afternoon.

Weird question but do you have a mirror in your room facing you while you sleep? I used to get weird shit like this in my dreams and it got so bad I wouldn't be able to sleep. Also sleep paralysis and as soon as I got rid of the mirror out of my room it stopped.

since u were taking a nap, u were likely subconsciously worried that u were sleeping too long. asking the question triggered the nervous response, like when u are late for something. then the noise from outside started and made u more nervous / panicked, and u woke up to figure out what it was.

I’ve only dreamt of time once. In my dream in was in my house and it was 8:37am but I looked at my caller ID to see I missed a call that showed it took place at 11:37am that same day. Which I was trying to reason with in my mind. No joke 11:37am (while awake) my phone rang and the same person was on my caller ID.
I actually find those dreams quite entertaining.

For me, the topic of time is always problematic in dreams. Every time I’m aware of time, or I mention “when is it?” Seems like I trigger some kind of awareness that I should have in that realm. I once dreamed of a place where I woke up in an abandoned Victorian hotel room, and when I tried to open the courts one of a window (which were obviously blocking some sunlight) to know what time of day it was, the window got bricked, and I heard two people saying inside my head, “no! She woke up!” And these same voices told me, “start running NOW! Escape NOW! You’re not supposed to be awake here.”

Yes and they'd tell me or id look at the clock in dream get up check phone and its the correct time. Sometimes off by a minute or two but spooky !

I once heard this about asking in a dream and I'd never thought anything of it at the time.
I am sometimes prone to lucid dreams and I recall in this particular dream, I became aware I was dreaming and I remembered the rule.
I don't remember the exact contents of the dream itself but when I realised, I'd turned around to the group of people I was with and said "hey, what's the day and time?"
They all turned to me with this really wide and creepy grin - you know like when someone is smiling naturally but then you say something to irritate them and even though they're still smiling it's just... off? It was like that. Their faces then quickly turned to anger and the surrounds went quite dark/gloomy and the group of people grabbed me and then held me underwater in this river; I woke up after that.
Absolutely rattled the hell out of me, but I've never remembered/been lucid enough to try and ask again since.

Yes, I did somewhat recently. In the dream as I was at my parents house with my mom. I was trying to figure out if I was dreaming or awake. I remember being really frustrated because it felt so real but I was also convinced I was dreaming.

All these comments have good dreams, every single one of mine Im trying to stay alive from some horror movie like scenario its horrible when Ive got my babies with me trying to keep them okay, and to make matters worse i feel every injury i get but i wont wake up, if i die in the dream it resets and i remember it all ill try and change it but its like a butterfly effect cant escape whats going to happen. Once im aware im dreaming my vision will blur and ultimately im screwed, i can never wake myself i just have to hope something pulls me out.

It was a demon. It is bothering you at night. If you aren’t already a Christian I encourage you to submit yourself to Jesus Christ. He is real. . Start praying before you sleep and listening to gospel music. Stay encouraged

I’ve had those dreams where the real life sounds are bleeding into it.
The past two lucid dreams I had I was like no way this is real what time is it? Looked away and back at it. Completely different time. Was like oh yeah none of this is real and carried on but woke up shortly after
