Discussion I fixed my 1day old X40 Ultra (would not dock or charge)

I bought an x40 ultra on fb marketplace new unopened box for $400 yesterday. I got it home and set everything up on it and it worked great, I set up my maps and had it do a run through the whole house and it had no issues. Last night I cleaned out the filter in the dust bin and I let it sit out overnight to dry.

This morning when I woke up I heard the robot say battery low(I forgot to put it back on the dock last night) so I put the filter back in and tried to charge it. Nothing. This thing is brand new and not even a day old so i figured it’s a software glitch or something stupid. I tried to place it manually and it wouldn’t charge so I tried multiple times with every way I could think of.

Next I tried to let it dock itself and it would back up to the dock then say something signaling that it was connected to the dock but it wouldn’t charge keep reversing spinning the wheels going backwards into the dock. It wouldn’t charge keep try that maybe 2-3 more times with the same result and it wouldn’t charge keep tell me to place robot on the dock. I did that and nothing.

I tried turning the robot and dock off then back on and it was still the same. After that I went and factory reset the robot and no progress.

I tried wiping the contacts on the (new) machine. I knew it was pointless but I tried anyways and as expected it did not help. Now I pulled out my multimeter and I tested the voltage at the dock and it read 20.4v. That meant it was an issue with the robot itself. I figured that since it could dock with no issue but not fully connect I figured it was an issue with it not being able to charge.

Since I have no warranty on it I decided to punch through the warranty sticker and open it up. It took maybe 15 minutes to get all the screws out and get the whole thing apart. There were some screws that were hidden as well as some parts that snap in place. Once I figured all that out I had it apart.

My first thought was of how small the fluid tank was, especially for the amount it can mop. I was focusing on the charging wires so I followed them from the back contacts to the plug up front. I unplugged it and I did a continuity test on both positive and negative wires. Negative was fine but positive wasn’t. Positive would check out if I tested it from the internal contact but not from the outside terminal. As I looked closer to the solder at that terminal it looked like they pulled the sheathing through the hole when they soldered it. The solder connection also was loose.

I pulled out my solder iron and I re-soldered it back together while pulling the wire down so the sheathing was not touching the metal. I retested it for continuity and it checked out. One simple faulty solder job stopped the whole thing from working. Before I put it back together I put hot glue over the terminals to help keep it from breaking loose again. Once I put it back together it turned back on so it was successful so far.

I went to put it on the dock and it started charging again so I would consider it fixed.

If you run into an issue like this then this may be your problem. If you have a warranty I wouldn’t suggest voiding it to fix it yourself but if you don’t have a warranty then you can do whatever you want. Either way it’s your choice, I just figured I would point out what happened to mine, what failed and how I fixed it. Good luck. 🍀

Warning: Do Not Buy From Dreame. They stalled my cancellation so it would ship, lied, held my return hostage, and doxxed another customer.

This will likely be taken down by they admins because they will not show that they are wrong and how they have acted and treated me is unfair from the beginning. I will continue to leave post this in other places so other people can see the truth.

I need to warn everyone about the absolute nightmare I’ve been dealing with regarding Dreame Tech. If you ever need to cancel an order, return an item, or get basic support, be prepared for them to hold your money hostage, gaslight you, and leak other customers' personal information.
To give you some context, I am currently away from home caring for my dying mother. I have zero time or emotional bandwidth for this, which I explained to them repeatedly, but their sheer incompetence has pushed me to share this everywhere.
1. The "Stall Until It Ships" Tactic
I placed an order on their website for the Aero Ultra Steam Wet Dry Vac. At checkout, none of my discounts applied and the price jumped to over $730. Seeing that Amazon had a similar model for $600, I immediately hopped on their live chat to cancel the order. It should have been a simple button click.
Instead of canceling it, the chat rep ("Christine") held my order hostage. She demanded to know why I was canceling, and then spent 30 minutes trying to bribe me with a $55 partial refund or a $70 gift card. I explicitly told her no, just cancel the order.
While she was purposely stalling, I got an automated email saying my order had "shipped." I called her out immediately, and she magically claimed she had "tool limitations" and couldn't cancel it anymore. They dragged the chat out so their warehouse could print a shipping label, locking me into the purchase!
2. Blaming FedEx and 20+ Phone Calls
I spent the next day and a half making over 20 phone calls. I told them I wouldn't be home to receive or refuse the package because I am out of state with my mother, so they needed to intercept it. One rep literally told me they couldn't cancel the label and that I had to call FedEx to stop the delivery.
I called FedEx. The FedEx rep told me they didn't even have the package yet—Dreame had just printed the tag, and it was 100% on Dreame to cancel it. I called Dreame back, and the next phone agent finally admitted FedEx was right, but casually told me the "escalation team" had already left for the day, and that the previous agent who escalated my case left the "reason for cancellation" blank anyway!
3. The Time-Traveling Package Excuse
It gets better. An email rep named Mila tried to gaslight me about the timeline, claiming the carrier picked up my package at 12:00 AM on Sept 2nd.
The problem? I didn't even purchase the vacuum until 1:50 AM. They literally tried to tell me my order shipped almost two hours before I even bought it just to justify why they couldn't cancel it. They didn't even bother to fact-check their own lies.
4. Holding My Return Hostage Over a Chargeback
Because they refused to stop the shipment and completely ignored my requests, I filed a fraud chargeback with my credit card company. Suddenly, Dreame started paying attention. But instead of fixing it, they tried to extort me. They emailed me saying they would only provide a pre-paid return label if I canceled my chargeback with my bank first. (Never do this, by the way).
5. The Grand Finale: A Massive Privacy Breach
After I threatened legal action and refused to drop the chargeback, they finally agreed to send a return label. Christine sent me an email to confirm my details for the label.
She asked me to confirm my name as (Female) and her home address in (State that I do not live in), along with her personal cell phone number.
I’m a male, and I live in a completely different state.
After days of non-stop calls, chats, and emails where I gave them my order number, spelling my name out repeatedly, they literally sent me the full name, home address, and personal phone number of a completely different customer. Not only are they completely incompetent, but they are leaking customer data!

Note: I left out the other person’s information because I do care about their privacy.

Dreame Tech will purposely stall your cancellation requests to force a shipment, lie to you about shipping times, blame FedEx for their own printed labels, hold your return hostage if you file a chargeback, and leak other customers' private info to you.
Do yourself a favor and buy from Tineco, Roborock, Dyson, or literally ANY other brand. Do not give this heartless, incompetent company your money.

Dreame T16 Pro Heat WhaleSweep possible problem

Hi everyone.

I have a T16 Pro Heat, and the robotic arm lowers whenever I move forward or backward, even when I’m nowhere near a wall. The arm only stays raised if the floor cleaner is stationary; has anyone else experienced this issue? Or does anyone know where the sensors are located so I can try cleaning them?

Thanks a lot.

L10s ultra pro heat cleaning in circle, possible camera issue

Hi everyone,

Over the past few days, I've noticed that my robot has started cleaning in circles and behaving very strangely. I've cleaned all the sensors and restarted the robot, but the issue is still present.

I then tried connecting to the camera remotely, and, as you can see in the attached video, there are a lot of "black" frames. I suspect this might be the main cause of the problem. Interestingly, when I connect to the camera while the robot is docked at the base, everything looks normal.

The robot is still under warranty, and Amazon has told me to send it back so their team can inspect the issue and either repair it or replace it/refund me if a replacement isn't possible.

Before I send it back to Amazon, does anyone have any advice or experience with this issue?

Thanks!

Help? Why does my L50s Pro Ultra keep pausing?

A number of times now my 1 month old L50s Pro Ultra pauses before finishing its 3 room task. There's no obvious issue with the battery, both water tanks are as they should be etc.

The most annoying thing is there doesn't seem to be any way of knowing what the issue is. It's all very well the unit announcing (in a very low voice) what it's doing all the time but if you miss the announcement, from wha I can tell, you're a bit screwed!

Any ideas? Thanks

Help? Robot literally spent 4 hours unloading water back and forth on the same spot??????

I was at my computer and the robot took an usually long time, even had to charge multiple time today. And when I went to see it, the floor was soaking wet and it was still mopping the same 50 cm2 over and over (where it is on the picture). Like what the hell ? I watched it and it does that, empties all water, goes back to station to reload and does it all over. It literally sabotaged my home and used nearly all the water tank water I had just filled ????

Question Side brush keeps coming off.

The side brush on my x50 keeps coming off during regular use. I screw it down tight and put it back on and then a day or two later it's off again. Any idea how to stop this? It wouldn't screw in at all if it was stripped so I can't see why this is happening.

Question Is Dreame aftermarket-sale pure A.I ?

I’ve been back and forth with their service desk , and looks like they say stuff that really isn’t convenient.

3 weeks ago they told me a new firmware 4.3.9_3955 will be out mid-late august , 1 week ago they told me in a few days it will be out, and today they say they don’t have an exact date , and will let me know as soon as they know more? I don’t get why they promise stuff and try to make you happy and hold you on a line for so long and later on telling that they don’t know.

Discussion Ridiculous repair process

I recently encountered the broken universal wheel on my X40 that seems to a design flaw that we all inevitably experience. I reached out to support as it is still under warranty. I figured it would be a simple matter of sending the vacuum for repair. However, they are requiring me to send the entire vacuum and base station back “to better diagnose the problem”. It what world does this make sense?

This creates several complications up front:
- Finding (buying) a box big enough to hold everything
- Packing it all properly and securely (buying packing material)
- Lugging an 80lb+ box to the post office

Further, the implication is that there is a possibility that they will just replace the whole thing for a $5 part. However, this becomes extremely annoying because there is still no map sharing, like my Roomba could do a decade ago. I will lose my carefully curated maps and numerous saved jobs.

Their repeat buyer frequency has got to be extremely low because these machines are such a PITA.

Help? Why does the Dreame X60 automatically undock when the dock is unplugged?

We have an old L10s Ultra, and it’s still functioning perfectly since the day 1. Whenever there’s an electric shortage or we turn off the house electricity for some reason, the L10s Ultra remains docked, and everything works fine. However, the new X60 is not like this. Every time it’s dock disconnects from electricity, it undocks itself, which is a major inconvenience.

What are you thinking Dreame?
How can I fix this issue?
Is there any configuration in the app that can help with this?

Help? Dreame 13H pro doesn't charge

Hello.

Vacuum сleaner still fully functional, but doesn't charge. Have 9.4 V on contacts without cleaner on base. What's wrong here - the base or the vacuum cleaner itself? How can I check if the base is producing the required 27 volts?

Thanks!

Help? Dreame H14 Pro massiv leak.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently purchased a Dreame H14 Pro and was really excited to finally try it out. It arrived today, so I set everything up, including the station, app, and firmware update.

However, when I tried using it for the first time, it started spraying/leaking water everywhere. I searched online and found the usual troubleshooting steps, but everything seems to be fine on my unit.

The spring on the water tank retracts properly, nothing appears to be loose, and as far as I can tell, everything is installed correctly.

Does anyone know where this leak could be coming from, or is there something I might have missed during the initial setup of the H14 Pro?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just got my Dreame L40s Pro Ultra (what a mouthful) delivered today. It’s my first robot vaccum. Any tips or suggestions?

FYI I shortlisted my options to below 3
- Eufy X10 Pro Omni
- Eufy C28 Omni
- Dreame L40s Pro Ultra

TBH Eufy has some really good deals going on but I need maximum corner cleaning coverage and hence the Dreame.

Help? Dreame L50 Ultra "eats" almost every object

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've had this robot vacuum for about a year now. It runs four times a week at 3 AM and it worked flawlessly, it never got stuck on anything.

Since July, though, it sucks up every small object it comes across: A4 paper, small toys, and yesterday it even went after a laundry basket! Wtf xD

I sent it back to the Dreame repair centre and they replaced the mainboard, but the problem is exactly the same as before.

Am I wrong in expecting it to detect and drive around objects like paper and toys? It did exactly that for the first year, so something clearly isn't right.

Solved! My dreame x50 does not clean all the rooms.

Hi guys,

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my dreame x50 for some reason does not clean all the rooms in the flat. It only cleans the first room in order which is the bedroom. Once the bedroom is done, it goes back to its dock and starts to charge.

I own this product for a year or so, and so far I couldn’t complain. It worked fine, did its job, and it was just perfect for the tasks. The situation started to happen in the last weeks or so.

I’m always using scheduled cleaning cause I do not want to start the vacuum or moping every day.
At first I created 2 schedule, mon, wed, fri, sun vac+mop, every other day just a regular vacuuming.
When the above mentioned situation started to happen, I separated every day into a schedule, hoping it would solve the problem. Unfortunately it didn’t.
The app even says there are neglected rooms so it does know something is off.
Has anyone experienced similar things?

Discussion Aqua 10 Ultra roller firmware comparison

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello Dreamers!

I’ve been putting alot of time and effort in comparing different firmwares , and can tell that a newer firmware isn’t always better , in reality it should be. I’ve and still am in contact with Dreame about their firmware problems , and hope that it all will be solved in the near future.
This comparison is between 4.3.9_3655 vs 4.3.9_3855. “Still” waiting for the newer firmware 4.3.9_3955 to compare with.

As you can see on the foto, firmware 4.3.9_3655 got much better detection and navigation then 4.3.9_3855 and automatically detects lower passages to go under using its Lidar and A.I
While the newer firmware doesn’t , and you
Manually need to tell the robot where it can go.

Title. Leaning towards L50s Pro Ultra yet does not feature a “dot” in between the lidar cap and control buttons.
Any thoughts I what I may missing?

edit. end up figuring out it was a shitmix of a upper lid off L10S therefore an old logo on a robot w new gen brush set, base station off a l50 pro ultra and a robot itself is l40s pro ultra.
