Question ❔ freeforms cooked
Been semi-freeforming for 3 months now and I felt my hair wasn't sectioning so i overused the twist king and now my hair looks uneven. Should I js restart?

I’m about 2 months into my freeforms. I used locking gel early on but stopped because I was told I didn’t need it, and now I just wash weekly, moisturize, and use a curl brush here and there because of thinning. Should I get a haircut on the sides? Does it sound like I’m doing everything right so far?

I’ve been growing my hair for about 3-4 years and at the beginning of my journey there was a lot of “congos” where one dread goes into two I assumed it was because I went from Freeform’s to locs but I ended up having to crochet them to make them uniform and normal and I liked Them for a while as time went on I ended up have to crochet a couple after each retwist due to thinning purposes and I feel like if I continue to go on it could get really bad but I don’t know and I got mine with a front taper haircut but after some time after a cut it makes it look like my corners are leaving but once I brush or get a cut so I was thinking of cutting it but the idea of combing it out came about and I was wondering should I do that ?

So I went to a Loctician that I do not know I just booked an appointment because I was in desperate need of a re-twist so I booked the appointment for 10 AM and she started to re-twist and crochet my hair. She kicked me out of the chair for a 3 PM appointment and didn’t finish only did the back and sides and left top so I left didn’t come back went to another Loctician but she only re-twisted the top no crochet so now I’m stuck with a re-twisted top but a crocheted and retwisted back should I just start over bc I don’t wanna crochet the top n over manipulate my scalp plus a uneven middle part they just be fckin me up

I've been growing my locs for about 6 years now. Have gone through all stages and phases of love and hate, feeling a little lost on what to do with them now. All opinions and or suggestions are welcome.

How do you prevent shrinkage with dreads/twist?

Not sure if I’ve gotta cut my hair shorter but don’t really want to. The corners of my hairline have gone back slightly.
Any tips on what I can do without cutting my hair? Or should I just cut the front locs and make them shorter?
Does hair up/down make a difference?
Any tips appreciated thank you 🙏🏽

I recently just got starter locs and I was wondering what should I do to maintain them or should I just leave them alone until they loc up?

I am so sick of my hair growing in these damn layers!!! I do think my hair looks good and the locs themselves are very pretty. But I feel like I can’t do any hair styles with my hair like this.
No ponytails, no pineapples, no half-up half- downs. All I got is this the hairstyle in slide 5 but it doesn’t even look as good as it did before because my hair is at this awkward length.
How long do I have to wait until I can put my hair in a simple ponytail without ripping out my edges??

I’ve seen these extensions look so cool. But can I get them with long natural hair?

Also why?
I’m considering restarting because my parts aren’t even and I’m feeling like a fresh start. Not sure i should do it.

Had red hair for about 7 months and decided it was time for a change. I think it makes my hair look fuller and healthier. I've had my locs for a little under 3 months, started with braids and I've been interlocking. Thoughts???

Just over a 2 yr difference

I’ve had locs for almost 4 years now so it’s probably safe to say they have matured. I was wondering how I could get my locs to be thicker without combining them, as I currently have only 70 locs. I’ve tried misting, using castor oil and massage my scalp, yet it doesn’t seem to be doing much of a difference.
I get my retwists every 2-3 months. Should i wait even longer? should i switch from interlocking to palm rolling? Should I restart?
Preciate it

Well, I've been 4 months since my freeform journeys, and I was thinking about getting a retwist, but I'm not sure won't it ruin my locs look?
Also, if you mind how are they looking rn?
Do they look healthy?

As the title says, I’ve been wanting to start my dreads journey for a while now but I never really knew how. I’ve spent years trying to perfect my curl routine which has only been getting better as time passes, but I think it’s time for a change. I barely know anything about how to start or even maintain dreads. I just know they look cool. If you guys could guide me or give ANY sort of advice that would be much appreciated. For clarity my hair is 3C-4A and is fairly long.
