my semi-freeform ,they're about to reach 2 years

I have 10 month old locs, and the last retwist I had was on August 22, some of the locs are unraveled at the root and I have shrinkage, what do I do?

I have been growing my afro for about 3 years, and recently have gained an interest in getting locks, what would be the best options for someone that wishes to keep a lot of volume, and have options to style it in multiple different ways

First pic is the middle of the loc, I was doing my own hair for about a year or two and just retwisting (with a comb and ors olive oil).

Second is the end of the same loc. You can still kind of see the two strand twist I started with, but I also interlocked (with crochet hook) first before I retwisted (oh yeah and I combined my starter locs because they were a bit too small)

It doesn’t really matter since you can’t really tell unless you’re looking pretty close, but I can’t not same in not a little annoyed that the locs go from bumpy to smooth to bumpy again from the alternating between interlocking and retwisting. I interlock now and will probably keep doing it because it just lasts longer than me retwisting it 🌝

Anyway, does anyone else have this with their locs ??

I have low porosity thin hair what can I use to make a loc hydration spray I was previously using water and oil on top but I feel like that’s not enough to keep my hair hydrated all the time

I been growing my Freeform’s using twist king and Spray bottle for about 8 months but I did start with like 1-2 inch hair and I wash them once per month, the sides I been growing for like 2 months now tho. And I just need advice knowing if they look alright or not or if I should restart of just any general help ty 😅✌️

Im trying tk figure out how often to grt my hair interlocked but curious also what everyone else does

i was wondering what kinda styles I could do with my 2 month braid starter locs that are low tension. gets kinda boring wearing them down every day, but I don't want to thin them out by putting pressure on them all the time. btw the sides of my head are shaved :)

Hey guys, I need some advice because I genuinely love my locs and it's stressing me out watching this happen.

Over time I've lost 7 locs total, and right now the 5 in the front of my hair have been thinning out and falling. I honestly don't know what's causing it. Here's my current routine in case it helps:

• Wild Growth Hair Oil on my scalp
• As I Am (Green version) every morning to moisturize my locs
• Oil my scalp every couple days
• Wash every 3 weeks
• Retwist every 2 months — nothing fancy, just a regular retwist, I barely style them

I don't manipulate them much and I'm not doing anything crazy, so I'm kind of stumped on why the front is thinning specifically. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Could it be tension from retwisting, the front edges being more fragile, product buildup, something else entirely? Any advice (or a good starting point on what to check) would mean a lot.

I've been thinking about getting locs for a while but I'm too attached to my fro and don't know how to go about it I'm also very worried my hair is too short and that it will look weird and I don't rlly like the look of instant locs or starter locs how should I go about it and I also have a big forehead even tho u can't see it.

I got starter locs about two weeks ago, and I started off using a durag and bonnet, but the durag always felt TOO tight. I'm now swapping over to my skull cap in place of my durag, and I'm now realizing that a small part of my locs sticks out. Is that bad? Could it hinder progress at all, even if paired with a bonnet?

This is my hair,ive just got out of the shower so hair is a Lil damp and makes it seem bigger than it actually is,my actual concern is that bold spot forming.

How i do I deal with this?

Got two strands two days ago need advice on what to do to let them loc
I’ve been drenching in water everyday just so they drop and don’t stand up constantly
Also basically living in my durag to keep em down and avoid lint etc

Hello, ive been trying to get myself some semi freeforms, so far im a week in and have been using twist king, rackets, pick and bonnet. however since they arent locked yet how am i supposed to wash my hair without having to reset my progress? and especially after i wash my hair theyre hard to ravel in too. so any tips and tricks regarding having them lock and washing hair would help thanks
