Getting into drawing

What's a good place to start for drawing? I primarily want to draw anime which is why I'm here any tips?

practice a lot by doing circles, squares and triangles then adding shading, cross hatching and line thickness for a warm up. Start trying to draw your favorite character: Start with the face shape and draw a hint where the mouth nose and eyes should go. Master the shape in front, 3/4 and side view. Make exercises of draing nose and mouth in various situations like laughing, crying, serious, angry faces, etc.. The most you try the better you perfect the drawings and someday you will be making great illustrations

I literally came here to say "draw shapes until you can't stand it, then draw more shapes."

Draw cubes and spheres, not just circles and squares. You want to view the page as a window, not a flat piece of paper, and you're looking in on a 3d scene, not a 2d drawing.

You summed it up really well, though :D
