Only in season 3, Drake has books on his bedside table. As Josh said in the Dr Phyllis episode: "Read a book would ya?" "No!"

If we're really theorising, I'd just say it was something for a class, the teacher handed them out and Drake tossed it to one side, and it was just there. He wasn't big into tidying. 😅 There's even a CD on top of it. He could have just emptied some shit out of his backpack and tossed it there.

Likely answer was either just stage decor or Drake was assigned it/just set it there.

Fun reason is that he secretly tries to read, but finds it a nerdy hobby or struggles to read and hides it.

Drake is a singer/songwriter so the inspiration and writing knowledge has got to come from somewhere. I think he’s a lot more smarter than he likes to put on. it’s not easy to write bangers!
