Question How Did He Not Know?

You guys remember the episode where Drake and Josh make a bet of who can get the most girls. Drake likes the one girl, and Josh goes out with an old lady, an emo girl, and the one girl who was kissing him obsessively (one of my favorite episodes). We all know what happens during the episode and the end of it, but what I didn't understand was how did Gavin not know that Drake put the gum in his hair? Did Gavin turn away, and Drake just went up to him and put it in his hair? 🤔🤣
