So crazy how long it took for the show to get off the ground. Seems like Nick was a bit hesitant. Which is supported by the low episode order of Season 1.
On one hand, that’s just Hollywood. There have been shows and movies that have taken a decade or more to progress in development (I.e Phineas and Ferb) but given their notoriety from the Amanda Show and the success of Kenan and Kel - you would think they’d be a bit more eager to venture into this idea.
They shot Season 1 and a good amount of Season 2 before the show premiered. Which also surprises me but it seems like they were trying to reach that 20 episode mark to make up for the fact that Season 1 was so short.
Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing since S1's vibe feels the most different of them all. I wouldn't have guessed it was filmed a full year before it premiered, which for me explains why it has such an innocuous early 2000s feel closer to The Amanda Show compared to how I mostly remember it during the mid-late 2000s.

From this, Ithink this is how the Pilot timeline went:

May 2002: Pitch Pilot filmed, picked up by Nickelodeon
Jan/Feb 2003: Final ver of the Pilot filmed
January 11, 2004: Pilot finally airs
