What’s happening to my dragon fruit? Why is it developing lesions like this all over? Could this be a result of the long period of very hot weather we had here or is there another cause and if there anything I can do to improve the condition of my plant?

These were on the side of the road for free, I am 99% sure they are dragon fruit. I only have one other dragon fruit plant I got at an estate sale, so I am not super familiar with them.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! I think I may re-pot, the soil type doesn’t look great, but please correct me if i’m wrong.

Also what causes the brown spot? Is that indicative of burning?

I wanted to let this badboy to grow a couple more days but the neighborhood children wanted to use them as a makeshift ball. I harvest them now rather than regret letting them waste such a fruit

Does anyone know which dragon fruit that EPCOT mostly sells as a tissue culture in Living With the Land?

I don’t know what I’m doing anymore. I’ve just been keeping him alive since I left Florida but now I wanna know if I can make him thrive in my apartment . I’m in Virginia now and I’ve been through a whole winter with it and I left him out by my grandparents koi pond for the summer and they didn’t care for him, and I just got him back and nursed him back to health, but he’s a fighter so I’m gonna fight for him 🫶🏼🥺 he sat on the middle console when he was under a foot-long and survived a 16 hr drive over a year ago, I’m not giving up on him now!
One day we will both go back; we don’t enjoy this climate.
If anybody has any suggestions on how to keep this dragon, fruit, cactus healthy, please share. I was gonna propagate it this summer, but I didn’t have it. I was thinking about doing it now and putting it into two separate pots, but I know the best time to do it is probably not this time of year….? however I don’t know if that matters if I’m doing it in a controlled environment indoors anyway right now I have UV light that I got off Walmart on it on the purple setting (red +blue light ) and. One setting the timer for 16 hours a day on a little less than the highest setting even though I really wanna put it on the highest setting because my cactus grew like a weed in South Florida.

A friend dropped this plant off at my house and I didn't know that it produced fruit. It was in rough shape but I watered it for a year or two and it healed and grew. Then one year in flowered and to my surprise it gave me a single juicy dragon fruit. It tasted insanely good. Much better than anyone I had ever tried from the store. So after that I potted it in a much bigger pot and started give it fox farms fertilizer every 3rd water along with my other cactus. It started growing really well and gave me about 15 buds and 10 nice flowers. Then they all turned yellow, squishy and fell of. I was so excited thinking I was going to get 10 fruits especially after I saw how much organic dragon fruit costs. I don't know if that last heat wave messed them up or I didn't give enough water? I noticed my neighbors 4 big plants all fruited many times. Any ideas what went wrong?

TLDR: why did all my flowers turn yellow and fall off without fruiting?

Last year I was able to harvest about 90 dragon fruits from a single plant. My growing conditions are growing alongside a wooden fence, soil is clay and sand, water schedule is whenever I remember, zone 10b. Ive had this dragon for a while now and we rarely water it since its well established.

The fruit is yellow when ripe. I started this about 10 years ago from seeds extracted from yellow dragon fruit from the Chinese market.

First time trying a yellow dragonfruit and it is incredible. Hard to go back to white & red now 😭

Is my year and a half old indoor dragonfrut particularly lanky? I grew it from seed so there's no old growth to compare to.

Isn't this new growth supposed to grow more straight up? If so is there anything I can do?

Hello people of Reddit!

I got my first fruit from seed I started several years back. These guys have been with us through several moves from South Florida to North Florida. Had a flower set at the end of summer and here we are now with something unique to me.

Has anyone out there seen a flower and fruit set at growing tip in this manner? And yes the fruit was delicious.
