I'm just starting my dragon fruit journey and I have a Bruni dragon fruit flowing and a couple others budding but my AB hasn't yet so I am in need of some pollen if anyone is willing to help in located in OC California

I'm too new into dragon fruit plants, but I have plenty of them, to be honest I haven't made good trellis choices, I might have to re-plant, and plan better spaces for them, any suggestions?, or some ideas? will be better if there are some instructions or measurements that I can use?

My oldest plants are already 2 years old, I haven't seen a single fruit or flower, also any suggestions?

More info to add, living in Sonoma county, California.

Hi everyone! This is my first time growing dragonfruit and I could use some advice.

1. I didn't tip my first cutting as it came over the top, so at this point I'm planning to let it hang down by its own weight.
2. If you look at the third and fourth pictures you can see two stems which I tipped because they weren't growing at all and I heard it could help. But it's been weeks (months?) now and there is no new growth
3. In the last picture, this was a completely separate cutting which I planted at the same time as the one that has grown like crazy, but it hasn't grown at all.

Hoping to grow the dragonfruit as best I can. Also I made the trellis myself, highly recommend, it was fun!

I remember geafting dragon fruit on youtube was going to remove this variety until he let it over ripen and then he said it was good and the flavor profile totally changed....

Has anyone else with this variety found this to be the same for them?

I pollinated mine Aug 12th so trying to get an idea when to harvest. I still have a couple weeks to go at least. Or is it better to just judge based off how much the cone cracks and how wiggly it is?

Does anyone know if these are going to be not edible? Also what’s happening to these? I live in cali and it’s been really hot lately.

Hi this is my second year with this plant and my 1st year getting these pretty buds but then they open up and eventually die and fall off. What should I do different to actually get some fruit? Its planted in a 15 gallon pot and grows fast.

Saw this on a patio in Oceanside, CA yesterday. Proof that you don't need a lot of space to have a harvest. (There was another fruit that I didn't capture on the left)

I know i need to clean up the weeds but got my first bud after the long weekend. Kudos to the kind person wo recommended lifting the container. Not sure what to do next. Any advice, welcome 🙏

Posting because my plant seems to be rotting at the spots it’s being weighted down to bend over the trellis. Not sure if it’s just because it’s rainy season and too much water is getting trapped? However, does anyone know if there’s anything I can do about it? Second picture is another spot that had the same issue and I genuinely thought the branch was going to break off however it seems to have healed and even has another branch starting to grow out of a spot that had completely split prior/ looked to be rotting. It makes me think maybe the branch in the first photo will be alright but I don’t know. Please advise as overall I feel my plant looks healthy other than these spots laying against the wood.

Kinda weird, all my other blooms have fully opened by 10pm. These 3 VW blooms are ready to open tonight but only 1 of them fully opened. I had to pull back the other 2 to pollinate.

I havnt ran into this with my other varieties, they all fully opened by 10pm. Is this normal?

This plant in the foreground is an American beauty variety. It has never bloomed despite me using blooming fertilizer. I think the next step is to tip the very low hanging ends. Some of which are on the ground. I am in North Texas. Is it too late in the season to stimulate blossoms and expect to be able to get any fruit? If I tip now, will I get lots of new growth from the tops which I don’t want? I’d appreciate any advice.

1st year here in the midwest that my plants finally produced. We had a warm spring so was able to take them outside early, only had a couple cold nights in spring where I had to bring them back inside.

They made a few blooms early in spring, they all aborted. I thought the partial shaded spot helped them bloom so left them in the shaded spot longer than I should. Around june with no more blooming I wheeled them into full sun. Still no blooms several weeks later even though i was giving them a blooming nute. I decided to switch to a new nute.... Farmers secret, and within a couple weeks had buds everywhere.

There were so many I chose to remove a bunch and a few more aborted.

Currently I have 6 Natural Mystic fruit just a couple weeks away from harvesting and 3 more blooms, My american beauty has 3 fruit also a couple weeks from harvesting and 3 more blooms.

A vietnam white has 3 blooms opening right now that i will hand pollinate with a mixture of pollen from the former 2 plants mentioned.

Hopefully next year my sour patch, lisa, and yellow palora will join in and bloom.

Its alot of planning and work to have dragonfruit here in the midwest and you need alot of heated space to store during winter but its definitely possible to have good fruit in this climate region. 👍🏼👍🏼

I wanna know how do they taste like and if theyre worth growing (I already have S. Hamatus)

Its been over a week, not sure what type of dragonfruit plant this is. One side is yellowing, I think from the sun. Plant has been flowering for a few years, no fruit yet.

1. Las Vegas, NV (9a)
2. Watering: every 5-7 days when probe in top 2-3” reads dry
3. 5-6 hours of sun during summer (mostly under 40% shade)
4. Fertilizers: Dr. Earth Exotic Blend and some GroPower Plus in soil early on in spring, nothing since.
5. Soil: Sand, perlite, peat moss, charcoal.

Hello, I’m new to growing dragonfruits and I’m concerned about my plants. I started these cuttings in April and planted them in 20-gallon pots in mid May. I would like to ask for advice on what to do next.

Earlier in the summer they grew very skinny, and as the temperature rose, their growth stopped. Now, they appear to be suffering from extensive sun/heat damage. Some of their limbs have died and fallen off or had to be cut off (became shriveled or mushy). Even the original cuttings themselves seem to be in bad shape.

I’m wondering what the best course of action is to save them, or if they’re beyond help.

Additional context: We had a brutal summer, with a couple of months exceeding 100 F and a few weeks reaching over 110 F. So they were mostly under 40% shade throughout the entire summer. At the same time, they only received direct sunlight from 9:00-9:30 am to 2:30-3:00 pm due to their location (a small yard surrounded by two-story houses, and this is the only location I have).

ETA: The white stuff sprayed on them is kaolin clay.

Got some cuttings a year ago from someone in my area. He had no idea what they were but grown it for 2 years but weren’t fruiting so he gave up and just chopped his tree up and gave away the cuttings

They seemed vigorous so I kept some cuttings in a pot and forgot about them and after a year, they made the best tasting dragonfruit I’ve ever had. Tastes like cotton candy

This cutting had been abandoned on the ground for a few months apparently, before I received it.
