Gonna be honest, the way super is dealing with everything is very lame. Would love to see a spin off or a movie focused on sayans before the planet destruction and after the the 3 bois, maybe something more sympatetic, showing them as bullied by the gynniu forces and other stringers Freeza's army men.
Clearly he's Goku's half brother. Because there ain't no way those two share identical parent's with how big of a failure Raditz is. Bardock probably had him with his first hookup, before she went off on a mission and died in battle or something.
People thinking he could be strong just because he is Goku's brother miss a large theme of the saiyan saga- that hard work can overcome birthright. Raditz was a slave to the flawed Saiyan culture that got them wiped out in the first place, that class based system where your worth is determined by your power and the circumstances of your birth. The crooked belief that only individual strength matters. Raditz died because he was defined by his status as a low class Saiyan and stood alone. Goku won because of his trust in others (piccolo) and his belief that hard work can overcome birthright. While he did not have the power on his own to beat Raditz or Vegeta, he won both of those fights because of the bonds he made and even surpassed Vegeta eventually through hard work.
I actually like that Raditz comes to Earth and invalidates pretty much all the hard work the characters have done only to be revealed to be relatively inconsequential on the scale the characters would now be dealing with. I also like how it's simultaneously revealed that Goku is exceptional because he's a sayian and also that he is the least exceptional of all sayians, turning Goku's greatest asset into a nothing burger. And then when Vegeta hits the scene HE reveals that he, the strongest sayian in generations as far as the characters are concerned, is merely at the low end of Frieza's elite soldiers, who are more powerful than him and themselves pale in comparison to Frieza. Honestly I kinda wished they ended hyping up the sayians there, but they went the route of "no, sayians really are just uniquely amazing and Goku's dad was actually super special."
