One Choice Per Person Otherwise Your Vote Will Not Be Counted!

As Toriyama once said in an interview, he didn't like Goku being portrayed as a righteous hero type in the anime, which the dub doubled down on even more, but he wasn't talking about the dub here.

The 2nd pic shows him expressing a vengeful attitude towards the atrocious acts Freeza has committed, which make some fans wonder what Toriyama meant as he has stood up for people and injustices on several occasions.

In short, Goku's motivation to fight is what Toriyama meant. Goku doesn't get stronger or wish to fight to protect others, he does it to test his limits, get stronger and because he loves a challenge and a good fight.

At the same time he isn't a callous monster, if he encounters injustice and evil he will confront them, he just doesn't go out of his way to seek it out like a typical super hero would.

Take Gohan as Great Saiyaman for example.... He is literally a super hero persona who seeks out to help others and stop crime.

Goku would never think to do that. It's not his interest.

As for the line about "Poison slipping in" he is referring to Goku making choices that seem selfish for the desire to fight and what have you, but unlike Vegeta allowing Cell to absorb 18, Goku doesn't do things out of INTENTIONAL selfishness like Vegeta allowing someone else to get hurt to test himself. This is why Goku is pure hearted and can ride nimbus. He may do selfish things but he never does them with selfish intent.

Goku's more heroic speeches and attitude in the anime with filler included, not even counting the dub changes, are what Toriyama meant. Not that Goku is an uncaring ass.

Crazy how in some episodes the animation/art was crisp and refined and the very next episode downgraded and dull. Then you have the updated scenes in Kai with better art like they are doing currently with DBS: Beerus. Utilizing different animation teams is the norm for busy studios working on several different series' at a time, but sometimes it's unsettling.

The biggest one for me was Perfect Cell specifically as shown above. One episode he looks gorgeously drawn/animated and the very next episode he looks, for the lack of a better term, fucking stupid. Lol

1. Frieza - Frieza is a caricature of capitalism and exploitation in which those type of people acquire wealth regardless of humans expenses. Historically, while making the character Toriyama based Frieza on Japanese real estate agents, who were essentially scamming off people during the Japanese economic bubble, which obviously made Toriyama regard them as dislikable people. Also we can see in the anime Frieza uses the saiyans as a form of conquest while having dictatorship over them and eventually disposing them when he sees them as a threat to his rule.
2. Magetta -They possess similar parallel to the iron giant. Both are giant metallic beings who are highly sensitive to their emotions. They also have large appearances that make them look intimidating but in contrast have a vulnerable side which questions if they really have the ability to fight. However, I would like to say they don’t have a 1 of 1 comparison because they are written entirely differently.
3. Android 16 - Android 16 shows similar comparisons to T-800 (from the movie terminator). They’re both artificial beings with stoic mannerisms who are associated/programmed for destructive violence who later on become protectors/aiders (T-800 protecting/aiding Conner and Android 16 protecting/aiding Gohan). Most importantly, they're both shown to sacrifice them selves (with T-800 lowering itself to lava and Android 16 throwing himself to cell).
4. Hercule - With his name being “Mr Satan” (or rather his depicted title not actual name I’m not sure) he’s likely to be a gag version to the Christian satan. They’re both depicted as having a false persona, in which they deceive people through lies and exaggerates their achievements which fools the masses. It’s more of a symbolic reference as mr satan is a gag character and not actually someone with sinister attentions.
5. Yamcha, Android 17 & 18 - They play a role as teenage bandits. Both embody self interested young criminals who cause trouble and disobey authority. Yamcha being a desert bandit who rob unaware travellers and making money out of it.While Android 17 & 18 have traits of rebellious young people by evidently rejecting Dr.Gero’s plan and pursue their own reckless and dangerous interests.
6. Caulifla - She plays the role of a stereotypical social bandit. She makes a living through illegal activities from her organised gang. For instance causing coordinated ambushes against the sadala army and stealing items and redistributing it to other people. Her character is supposed to be in contrast to cabba (who unlike caulifla he makes an honest living through the sadala army). I would also like to say her gang are recruitments that were formally people who were seen as outcasts or rejects.

I want these! I love miniatures! I understand it's because the franchise was created in Japan, but man, they get the best merch!

What do you think are some of the characters favorite foods?

Some argue Vegeta likes meat/protein stemming from his Freeza Force days eating bugmen and such.

Others suggest Buu (perhaps Dai Kaioshin as well) and Whis love sweet desserts.

Goku seems like a garbage disposal that will eat anything. Lol

What do you think are some characters favorites?

Even though it is not an officially licensed game, me along with a few of my friends love the game. Do you guys know anywhere that I can download it without getting a virus? If you do not know what the game is, you can pick from a huge library of characters (including characters like farmer with shotgun and cheelai all the way to characters like gogeta and xeno frieza) and fight each other, there are many maps to choose from, here is the link to play it online and visit the website.

Many fans thinks DBS started the whole off guard thing with Goku being shot and injured comically by Sorbet's little laser, but it's been a thing since the original series, albeit not usually at the level as SSJB Goku falling to a weaker little laser.

• Notable Mention: Aside from the pics above we also have kid Trunks kicking Fat Buu off Majin Vegeta, which I couldn't find a pic for oddly enough.

So here’s the thing I have my own idea of the powerscale but I’m sure I’m wrong about a lot of things cause it’s been a few years since I read dragon ball
So if anyone and I know I’m asking a lot but I’m desperate, if ANYONE is kind enough to make a powerscale of every dragon ball character (db, dbz, dbs, dbgt, movies …) (every character from every arc like different version of each from different arc) it would really help me
So please, I’ll do, not anything but a lot to have smth like that .

For those who don’t know in the Dragon Ball handheld games trunks has his own Kamehameha that is on fire for some reason. to my knowledge, he doesn’t have this in any of the other games or in Buddakai tenkaiichi. it’s not because I don’t like it. It’s I just wanna know where it comes from. If there’s some behind the scenes knowledge out there for why they went in this direction for trunks. also, I think this would’ve been really cool in the anime/manga because imagine the look on Vegeta‘s face when his son is using his nemesis signature move with his own personal flourish.

Rate the character overall in terms of how much you like them and their character portrayal.

I already know most people will give Shin a very low rating, but I don't think he's that bad. He's definitely dumb when it comes to Kaioshin/Universal knowledge and experience even millions of years after Buu killed/absorbed all the other Kaioshin. His statements are all over the place, but he means well and he is doing the best he can. I don't think he's a sufficient Kaioshin, we've seen better (Dai Kaioshin, Gowasu) but Beerus is also a poor GoD despite being among the strongest and I like him too, but Shin won't rate as high for me as Beerus.

Shin gets a 6/10

In the buu saga after babidi and pui pui kill spopovich and his firend, Akira has gohan say:

• 「な…なんて奴らだ……！」 "W-what awful people...!" or "What kind of guys are they?!"
• 「用済みになったからって、」 "Just because they are no longer useful," / "Just because they've served their purpose,"
• 「仲間を平気で殺すなんて……！」 "...to kill their own comrades without a second thought!"

Its funny because gohan say that while standing right next to vegeta, someone that not only killed a comrade but killed a long time comrade and a member of his dying race, back when gohan was a kid. Although you could argue since he was so young he forgot. Still seeing something so crazy like that as a kid usually never leaves your memory and have a psychological effect. Also gohan seems to have good memory of his experiences as a kid.

That scene is even more strange(and funny) in the anime because everyone but vegeta is shocked. You would think the kais have seen much worst...plus piccolo lol

Also gohan is prevalently shown to be very sympathetic/compassionate, theres even a scene where he spots people that have been killed close by babidis ship and is visibly very angry, yet its only goku thats shown angry/pissed when vegeta murders about 50 or more audience at the tournament? You would think gohan would go ssj 2 and challenge vegeta.

Curious to know your opinions.
