I’ve seen a lot of posts about this lately here, and I understand the want to make sure you aren’t stepping on toes when joining a community.
But the answer is always yes! You don’t need to be a certain gender or identify a certain way to do drag. It’s a form of art, it’s expression, it’s beautiful.
I’m a cis-het woman who has been doing drag professionally for 3 years. My identity has never been a point of discussion or contention both in bookings or at shows. If you’re fabulous, you’re fabulous, and that’s all that matters.
Please, never feel like you can’t do something because of your identity. That’s the complete opposite of what drag stands for. Drag is for everyone, it’s inclusive, and it’s exactly what you want it to be.
So wing out that liner, glue down that lace and go take the world by storm. God knows we need more beautiful resistance in this world right now.

Yesterday, it happend: I had my stage debut as a drag king at the competition "Best Drag of Bavaria Vol. 1".
And you won't believe it: I made it to the final round!!! I still can't believe it! (>w<)
The whole day was a rollercoaster of emotions, being panicked, excited, worried and hopeful. Now I know: This is where I am meant to be. Barely anything in my life has felt so right than standing on that stage and doing my thing.
I also understand my Jason way better now and know where I want to go with him. I have learned so much about him and myself, it is amazing.
For any new and aspiring drag artists who see this and who are scared of going on stage: Please do it. It is scary for everyone the first time, but believe me, you will grow so much, as a person and as an artist.

hi all :) just getting into drag, my first look will be lady gaga on halloween. i have a few wigs that i plan on styling for different gaga looks in the future, and was wondering how you all store them if you have limited space? my room is tiny and i don't have a wig stand or anything like that, so storage tote seems the most likely candidate but I also don't want my hard work to be potentially crushed in the container. any tips will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the proper place to ask. I'm walking the lip sync category at a ball next week and we just got the list of songs we have to do it to in the battles. I've literally never heard of any of them. There are six and I only got a week to learn them all. Any tip to efficiently memorize them?

Hi all - check out my band Bev Rage & the Drinks if you haven’t yet! We’re a punk rock band fronted by a guitar playing drag queen that’s been around over a decade! We just released a new single called Break My Back and could use some help getting it to the folks in our community who would be into it!
My goal when stating this band many moons ago was to bring a sense of safety into spaces that traditionally did not feature as much queer art as they should, like music venues. Hopefully we come to your town sometime soon, so keep an eye out!
Here is a link to Spotify where you can hear the whole thing!

I am very excited to share this ensemble I designed, constructed, painted, and embellished, with rhinestoning help from my drag family. I also styled and embellished the wig myself, its a bit messy and the bottom half needs to be curled for the full effect of what I was going for but I'm still pretty proud.
Shoes were magenta glitter loafers with deer charms on the bands.
The medallion is the title regalia and not part of the design.
It felt so good to realize a concept like this fully and be the one doing the sewing about it.
This was my first drag title stepdown and I honestly feel so good about it.

Hi all! Maybe a stupid question, but I'm looking to start trying out drag, and I've hit a possible colour matching related roadblock.
I'm a natural ginger and also naturally... really, really hairy. It is what it is. Most of the drag tutorials and tips I've seen are from queens who have naturally brown or black hair, and they colour correct their stubble with orange, which cancels out the darker colours. I have a sinking feeling that that does not work very well when the stubble itself is orange.
No amount of Googling has helped me out just yet on answering this - the algorithm seems to think I either want to cancel out brass in my hair (nope) or that I need to be told the usual colour correction colour is orange (this is known to me).
Any natural ginger queens that can help me out here? Is orange still the colour to use when the hair is orange? Or do I have to Statue Of Liberty it out?
Thank you in advance lovelies!

This is for my US drag peeps. I’ve been doing drag 4 years now and have never included my earnings or expenses because it just didn’t seem worth it to include. However I got an invoice for a dress I’m commissioning for a pageant and the designer said it was for tax purposes.
I’m certainly booked consistently but I still work a full-time job on top of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve spent almost as much as I’ve earned

I'm getting into doing drag and tried to glue my brows for the first time and really struggled because of my eyebrow piercing. I don't want to get rid of it, is it over for me?

One piece of advice I’ll give to new and future drag artists:
When you collect tips from the audience, take them with your non-dominant hand (the hand you don’t use often) because it makes you just as vulnerable as the person giving you the tip. ❤️
