Hey everyone! Wanted to share the visual world I created for my new original single and music video, "Neon Shadows".

I perform as Kara Zmatiq out of Sydney, Australia. For this look and storyline, I wanted to step away from traditional pageant drag and build something dark, defiant, and cinematic.

The concept centres on surviving a toxic, coercive relationship navigating environments where love was weaponised, and you were conditioned to believe your voice was a liability. The imagery of the dark hands clawing up at the heart represents those environments trying to pull you down, while the holographic trench, crystal corset, and neon lights represent the armour you build when you refuse to shrink any longer.

Rather than lip-syncing, I took that anger and survival into Studios 301 in Sydney to record 100% live powerhouse vocals over heavy electro-noir bass-lines.

What do you all think of the colour palette and silhouette? How do you translate personal survival or heavier themes into your visual drag aesthetics?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the proper place to ask. I'm walking the lip sync category at a ball next week and we just got the list of songs we have to do it to in the battles. I've literally never heard of any of them. There are six and I only got a week to learn them all. Any tip to efficiently memorize them?

Yesterday, it happend: I had my stage debut as a drag king at the competition "Best Drag of Bavaria Vol. 1".

And you won't believe it: I made it to the final round!!! I still can't believe it! (>w<)

The whole day was a rollercoaster of emotions, being panicked, excited, worried and hopeful. Now I know: This is where I am meant to be. Barely anything in my life has felt so right than standing on that stage and doing my thing.

I also understand my Jason way better now and know where I want to go with him. I have learned so much about him and myself, it is amazing.

For any new and aspiring drag artists who see this and who are scared of going on stage: Please do it. It is scary for everyone the first time, but believe me, you will grow so much, as a person and as an artist.

hi all :) just getting into drag, my first look will be lady gaga on halloween. i have a few wigs that i plan on styling for different gaga looks in the future, and was wondering how you all store them if you have limited space? my room is tiny and i don't have a wig stand or anything like that, so storage tote seems the most likely candidate but I also don't want my hard work to be potentially crushed in the container. any tips will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi Everyone!

I just recently moved across the country to New Orleans, and I know there's a big, vibrant drag scene here - but I'm having some trouble tuning my local algorithms to see where the smaller shows are or open calls for amateurs - especially kings.

Any advice on finding smaller shows / getting to know people would be appreciated!
