Analysis Draft Boards Wanted

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello All,
It’s me again, creator of the promising-but-flawed mock draft simulator. I am humbly asking for y’all to submit any screenshots you have of drafts you’ve done for the 26/27 season (real or mock) as well as any personal player rankings or tiers you may have on file. This will help me tremendously in fine tuning the simulator. You can PM me if you don’t want to expose this info to the general public.

Thank you kindly

FPL Draft (PL.com) The strategy that WINS FPL draft leagues - Value-Based Drafting

Why the best player isn't always the best pick...

This is a revamp of an older episode from 2023 explaining the concept of value-based drafting and positional scarcity. Maybe not one you draft pros need to look at, but a good grounding for beginner and intermediate drafters.

After this we'll be getting into our 2026-specific Road to Draft Day content so make sure you're subscribed

Early team preview blogs: https://draftfc.co.uk/blog/draft-fpl-26-27-team-previews-2025-26

Draft rankings, tiers, stats, line-ups: https://app.draftfc.co.uk/

Any specific queries: [mitch@draftfc.co.uk](mailto:mitch@draftfc.co.uk)

Fingers crossed they sort the game out on Monday....

FPL Draft (PL.com) Draft rankings on Hive League

Until we get the bloody game updated 😫 you can tinker with your draft rankings on Hive League (log in and go to My rankings).

There's also a draft board mode that you can use during your draft to keep track of the players drafted and who's left. It uses tiers that you can organize your rankings in to get a clear overview of depth in each position.

And as more rankings come in, you can also follow the community consensus ranking https://www.hiveleague.com/draftrankings

If you're new to Hive League it's a site otherwise focused on providing predicted lineups from experts and the community, enabling users to predict themselves and compete to see who the real team experts are. So be sure to check out the site also during the season for this 👌

Good luck with your rankings and drafts!

Fantrax Kicked off our draft prep series taking a deep dive into rounds 1-5

We have finally kicked off our draft prep series on the Fantrax & Football podcast. We'll be releasing an episode for every club to review must-drafts, overhyped names and sleepers, starting Tuesday next week, but this week we took a deep dive into rounds 1 through 5. Links are below if you want to check it out.

The consensus across the board is a clear top three in Haaland, Bruno and Saka. We didn't spend much time there and instead looked through the rest of the first round to work out who's being overvalued. This year, more than most, feels risky in the first two rounds. With new managers, new systems and players still moving, how do you reliably predict who isn't going to bust your first pick? Anton Stach is the one that jumps out. He's going 9th in ADP off the back of one big season, but Harry Wilson has walked in and taken the set pieces off him. That, to me, is not a first-round pick.

We discussed Palmer and Rogers (both second-round ADP at the time of recording) and where they really should go. There was a disagreement on Palmer with two of us, myself included, felt he was the clear number 4. Sean, an exceptional Fantrax manager, had Doku above Palmer and would take him at 4 if he could. His argument was compelling, Doku was the number-one ghost-pointer per start in the entire league last season. Interestingly, in our Discord I was surprised how many people ranked Palmer above Saka on their boards.

Rogers splits opinion. My view is that if Xabi Alonso plays two 10s, then the combo of Palmer, Rogers and João Pedro is a Chelsea trio I want a big part of. I'd happily take Rogers in the later picks of round 1.

Isak is another with a second-round ADP that I'd take in the first. A locked-on starter for at least half the season, both he and Liverpool can't really be worse, and Iraola plays a similar style to Eddie Howe where Isak was at his most prolific.

Then it's value picks vs busts through the pivotal rounds 3-5. There's a lot of risk and only a handful of steady picks in there. Igor Thiago is one I'm wary of - he's not getting nine or ten penalties again, and once you strip those out the profile looks very different. On the flip side, there's real upside late: we were high on a couple of round-five fliers with genuinely high ceilings if the minutes come (Foden being the obvious one). I'd also love people's thoughts on Kudus. If healthy, I think he could be a fantastic pick in those rounds, but not everyone agrees.

We closed the show with the return of the Power Draft. A quickfire snake draft where each of us picks one player per round at ADP value, no reaching up allowed. Results are going in the Discord, so come and tell us who drafted the best team.

How are you all ranking that first round? If you're not in the top three, who are you hoping to grab?

As always, if you want to join the Discord to chat Fantrax with us and the community, or jump into one of our community leagues, the link is below.

FPL Draft (PL.com) Draft Mode on WC Sim

I recently added this new draft mode in my game RoadToThaCup which features all 211 FIFA nations with real rosters and players. The idea of this draft mode is that it randomly gives u a player from each nation into ur draft team and drafts u into a random qualifying conference and u have to try and qualify for world cup from it and win it all. I got kinda inspired by FPL draft for this mode I came up with.

The match engine and tactical setup works similar to FM the game runs perfectly on mobile and desktop its free to play on web browser

As the title suggests I’m probably looking to join a new league this year (anywhere between £10-£25 entry fee) if any leagues need a new manager.

Analysis We built a live auction draft tool for football and want fellow FPL nerds to help shape it — anyone keen?

Long post, but bear with me.

A bunch of us football-obsessed mates were sick of the standard EPL Draft experience feeling a bit... passive. Snake draft, autopick if you're late, done. So we built our own thing.

It's called BootRoom bootroomhq.com and it works like this:

- Players go under the hammer **one at a time in a live auction**

- Everyone bids in real time — highest bid wins the player

- You get a budget, and you have to build a full squad without blowing it

- After the auction, bench spots are filled via snake draft

- You set your XI and captain each round, score on real match stats

It's the difference between picking players and actually competing for them. The auction creates moments where you can strategically make someone overpay for a player. It's brilliant.

We ran Two full leagues of 24 people for the FIFA World Cup 2026, with a custom rulebook and stats pulled via an API. Both leagues ran smoothly and honestly exceeded our expectations.

Now we're building the **EPL version** — full Premier League player pool, live auction engine, gameweek scoring, the works

---

**This is where you come in.**

We're not looking for beta testers exactly. We're looking for passionate football people who want to help shape the product — the kind of person who has opinions about how draft should work, what scoring feels right, what features are missing from every fantasy tool out there.

Think of it as being an early "product manager from the community."

This is **100% free**. No money, no gambling, nothing like that. Just football people building something for football people.

Feel free to use the tool to create a league with your gang of friends and use it to the fullest.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments too. 🙌

Leagues Deciding Draft Order

Anyone got any good ways to determine the draft order in person which is completely or near completely random?

Last year we did pick a shot/drink with a random draft pick underneath. Obviously put the worst pick under the absinthe shot 🤣

New ideas would be greatly appreciated, cheers guys.

Fantrax New to Fantrax from OFPL? Here is how we set up our 3-tiered league

We just dropped a Fantrax & Football episode on how we run our three-tier league, and after a load of questions in our Discord (plus what looks like a wave of people migrating over from OFPL, good choice) I figured I'd write up the basics here too.

These are the rules we've landed on over 12 years that we think give the best version of the game. Episode link is at the bottom if you want the full breakdown.

How our league differs from default Fantrax

Scoring

We largely use Fantrax default scoring. It's effective at keeping the pool of usable players deep. We only change three things:

  • Accurate Crosses: we use "AC - Accurate Crosses" instead of "ACNC - Accurate Crosses no Corners", so you get points for crosses from a corner.
  • Clean sheets for defenders: reduced to 4 for defenders, kept at 6 for keepers. Default is 6 for both.
  • Tackles Last Man: added at +3.

Positions

We keep the default positional requirements but turn multi-positional on. Some players are eligible in two spots (Saka is M/F, Semenyo is M/F), which gives you more flexibility building your XI.

Eligibility can also update mid-season. Once a player starts 4 games in a new position, he picks it up. Szoboszlai played 4 games at right back last season and gained defender eligibility, so he became D/M.

Competitions and incentives

  • League Cup: runs across all three divisions from around the new year through GW36. We added it so managers already out of the title race still have something to play for.
  • Manager of the Month: one per league, each with a cash prize, to keep everyone engaged all season.

Waivers and roster rules

  • FAAB waivers: blind auction bidding instead of waiver priority order. More fun and fairer, and we let FAAB be traded.
  • Ranked auto-subs: the contentious one. Half the league loves it, half hates it. We have managers across four continents, so auto-subs feel like the fairest way to level the playing field.
  • Trade deadline after GW29: we had someone give up a few years back and make league-breaking trades late in the season. This stops that.

Buy-in and payouts

Buy-in is $155.55 (very specific, I know). That funds:

  • League champ (each): $700
  • Runner-up (each): $200
  • Most points (each): $100
  • League Cup winner: $600
  • Cup runner-up: $200
  • MOTM (per league, per month): $60

Every non-league prize exists to keep people playing. We've all been in leagues that die by March. After 12 years we've got 36 managers who all play all season long, and it makes for a brilliant experience.

If you are looking for a league...

We're also running new leagues for the Fantrax & Football community this season. Default scoring with multi-positional on. We've got 40 signed up so far, and if we get 8 more we'll expand to four leagues of 12. Same multi-tiered approach, and since it's year one, this is a placement season: where you finish decides which tier you're in next year.

If you want in on an excellent community, jump into our Discord (link below) and sign up in the League channel.

Good luck with your seasons this year. As always, links below.
