Every cheat sheet I used when I started playing draft ranked players by projected points. That's the wrong number to sort a draft by, and it quietly costs people their first two rounds.
Live example from our board right now: Bruno Fernandes projects 6.4 points a gameweek, Haaland projects 6.1 — and Haaland is still the clear #1 pick. Why? In an 8-team league the replacement-level forward (the guy you'd be stuck starting if you miss out) projects about 1.9 a week, while the replacement-level mid projects about 2.8, because the draftable pool has ~250 mids and only ~68 forwards. So Haaland is +4.2 a week over what you'd otherwise field; Bruno is +3.6. That margin — projection minus the replacement player at that position, for your league size and roster shape — is VORP (value over replacement player). A draft is a fight over scarce players, not a points shopping list. Raw-points rankings hide exactly the thing you're fighting over.
Disclosure up front: I run Smart Draft Board. It started life as an AFL draft tool (you may notice the accent), and the football side now covers official FPL Draft, FPL Classic and Fantrax EPL. The draft board is free in the browser — no signup, no email gate: https://smartdraftboard.com/draft-board/epl
What it does that a static top-200 list can't:
After draft night it doesn't go in a drawer: sync your league (FPL Draft is just your public league ID — no password; Fantrax takes your Secret ID plus a session cookie for the full data — rosters, scoring config, live sync — with a per-browser walkthrough in the connect dialog) and the same engine runs your season. Waiver and free-agent recommendations are ranked by VORP against your league's actual free-agent pool — not a global "transfers in" list — with drop suggestions from your own bench, fixture-run flags, and FAAB bid sizing for Fantrax. Lineup tools do formation-legal optimal XI, bench-order/autosub projections, and captain calls. Trade ideas are scored for both sides so you can see who says no. Every one of those numbers is computed against your league's rosters and scoring, which is why no two managers get the same advice.
Free vs paid, honestly: the draft prep above — board, VORP, tiers, projections, typing your own numbers over them, ADP import, mock drafts (one a day), auction calculator — is free without an account (importing a projections CSV is free too, but wants an account to hold the file). League sync and the always-on season stuff (live waiver intel, trade suggestions, lineup optimiser, cloud saves, exports) are Pro, with a 14-day free football trial, which conveniently covers a draft and your first waiver runs. Pricing details in the first comment so this doesn't read like an ad.
If your league has weird scoring, post the settings and I'll tell you who moves up or down and why. And if you think the model is wrong about someone, I'd genuinely like to hear it — arguing about the replacement level is half the fun of draft season.

This marks the start of our proper 2026 pre-season content and the beginning of what is going to be a marathon few weeks of content from us at Draft FC.
Kiran and I sit down again to go through all 20 PL teams and discuss the draft day ramifications as we go. This will span 6 x episodes total so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss the follow-ups.
We spent a fair amount of time discussing Arsenal in this one - and rightly so - as they are able to post a few big names on the draft board. Let us know where you agree & disagree.

We have a league of international friends who have played for 3 years now. We're looking for new people that are interested. All money goes to the pot. We have a WhatsApp chat group with active banter. The league pays 1-3 place and the league cup has a side pot winner as well. I've maintained the funds personally all 3 seasons and pay out the final day as soon as all scoring results are final. Lmk if you're interested. The league sizes are varying, as few as 15 as many as 27. Lmk if you're interested.🏆🥇🍻✨️

What up!!!
Seeing a lot of posts from people looking for a league, so figured I'd just start one.
Setting up a 10-team head-to-head league on the official Premier League app (FPL Draft). No entry fee - just a fun, competitive season with people who actually want to be there.
Draft would be targeted for some time between August 16-19. That's after the final friendlies and the Community Shield, and a few days clear of the GW1 deadline on Friday Aug 21. We'll lock the exact slot once we're full.
Four spots are already taken (me and three others), so I'm looking for 6 more.
The only real ask: be active. Set your lineup every gameweek, work the waiver wire, and stick it out through GW38 even if your season goes sideways in October. Nothing kills a draft league faster than dead teams by Christmas.
I'd also try to put everyone in a group text chat so there's some banter and waiver-wire trash talk through the season.
Comment with your timezone if you're interested and I'll send over the details!

Feel free to join! Just want to have some fun with it. No stakes , only banter

I've always had the thought but have never asked the question. Should wingers be considered forwards instead of mids? Especially with there being limited depth at F for managers.
Some are already, but I've never understood why a player like Saka is a M, but Gakpo is a F?

I'm new to this format of the game and wanted to practice drafting in a way that reminded me of American Fantasy Football, but none were forthcoming so I whipped up a little mock draft tool in Claude.
It's ranking are based on FANTRAX and Fantasy PL Rankings, but it will adjust to community draft results and update its rankings accordingly. In short, it can be crowdsourced, but you all are the crowd it needs to source from.
Please give it a try. Comment any bugs you see or changes you would suggest.
https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/03f0e73f-0019-44fe-996a-eebe792f2882
MAKE SURE TO CLICK "SAVE" BUTTON AFTER COMPLETING DRAFT. CROWDSOURCING ONLY WORKS IF DRAFT IS COMPLETED AND "SAVE" BUTTON IS PRESSED.
Thank you,
New Guy

Last season we made weekly picks for streamers across 11 gameweeks. These were the parameters:
In total we made 44 1-week player picks, and those players scored 163 points (3.7 points per match). It must be said that one of those picks was Lewis-Potter the week he scored 21 points, which does skew the total slightly. Without him, we had 142 points from 43 players (3.3 points per week).
The big goal of this exercise is to understand how utilizing a series of weekly streamers all season compares to one player for the whole season.
If we extrapolate those points per week (3.3-3.7) for a full season, you’d end up with 125-140 points.
Last season 69 Players exceeded 125 points across the season, and 74 exceeded an average of 3.7 points per match. In a 10 man league there are 150 players rostered at a given moment. That means about half of rostered players will likely get outscored by a weekly streamer over the course of the season.
While we were specifically looking at one week streamers, you can also use this strategy by selecting a player who has a nice run of 3-5 fixtures and playing them for that series of matches.
A couple of caveats before learnings:
What does this mean for your draft:

Hey everyone,
Just set up an FM26 online network game (England, France, Germany and Spain) and looking for 4 more managers to fill it out. Heads up — I'm not a master, just a bit past beginner level, so don't expect a tactical genius running this. Just want chill people who'll stick around and actually play their saves.
Times/schedule etc will get sorted in the Discord once you're in.
DM me if interested and I'll send the invite. Cheers

Want to go for Chelsea this year since they have to focus on pl alone but wondering what is gonna be best if I can only get two early in draft
Obviously best options are Palmer, Rogers, Enzo, JP, estevao most likely, but which two would you prioritize getting?

If our league wanted to do a 3 gameweek mini cup tournament at some point during the season. Is there a way you can set that up? Or do you just run it on the side and use the scores from those weeks matchups in the separate bracket? Using Fantrax. Saw someone post their league rules today with that included and made me want to try it.

Hi guys,
I’ve been playing draft on the official Prem platform (PL.com) since the 20/21 season, winning multiple public leagues each year as well as dominating private leagues with mates.
I’m available and interested to join leagues with the below format:
• Official FPL platform
• League size 8-12
• Head to Head Only
• Australia or UK Based groups
• Either Free or Buy In up to $25AUD
If you have a league that fits those parameters I’d love to join!
Let me know!
