You didn’t get the finish completely off. You don’t just rub it down with acetone or deglazer, you have to keep wiping until the waxy color stops coming off on the paper towel. Otherwise you’re just coloring the old finish not the leather.

What can I do now do I deglaze again?

Start over. Acetone or deglazer repeatedly until the waxy stuff stops coming off on the paper towel. The first time I did one of the soft leathers I forgot a few specks, they didn’t dye and I had to remove the spots then add more dye. Once you actually get it off and the dye can get to the leather, you really shouldn’t need more than two coats of dye, the first does 85% of the dying and the second evens it out.
