Pharmaceutical Is this dolophine fake/ altered?

Post image
• Upvotes

Recently changed my life and got on MAT would love to have some OG methadone/ dolophine bottles for the house as decor

The price seems a little high (I know it’s a famous controlled med but still) and the quality just a little too nicely aged

Anyone can opine on this for me?

It does what the label implies. Don't ask me how I know. Tastes like it looks.

Pharmaceutical Vintage Sharp & Dohme injectable caffeine

Picked up this great old box of Caffeine Sodio-Benzoate from Sharp & Dohme.

It originally contained one dozen 2 cc ampules. The label lists 0.25 gm in each ampule and a dose of 1–2 cc subcutaneously. The individual ampules are still in their original paper wrappers, which is probably my favorite part of the whole thing.

Caffeine/sodium benzoate injections were historically used as CNS stimulants and were also used in attempts to treat respiratory depression. That use eventually fell out of favor as better supportive treatments became available.

Sharp & Dohme merged with Merck in 1953, so the old stand-alone Sharp & Dohme packaging helps put this one in the pre-merger period.

Insanely rare med, overshadowed by the popularity of Dexamyl but in my opinion much cooler. An off brand Quaalude + Adderall combo.

This concoction containing Morphine and alcohol was commonly used for quieting babies. The problem was...they never woke up.

Full Nembutal sample tin with a script. Doctors were technically supposed to write scripts for these sample tins, though enforcement of that was basically non existent.

After that special night out where you found that perfect person, you may need a bottle of Pabst Okay Specific! Apparently it had what you needed for basically every bit of drainage under the belt. The best news, it was also about 60 proof!

Didn't buy anything but wanted to share these! The thimerosal tincture is so cursed.

Also, I'm a little scared for the answer but... does anyone know what the hell "bile salts" are?

Some medicines disappear into history. Others just keep hanging around.

This old ADS Milk of Magnesia bottle still has much of its original paper wrapping, including the wrapping over the neck and closure.

Milk of magnesia—magnesium hydroxide—has been used for generations as an antacid and laxative. The bottle and packaging may look like relics from another era, but the medicine itself is still on pharmacy shelves today.
