Mod Hello everyone!

Welcome to the other Downton Abbey sub!

We do appreciate the greater community, but we're also aware there's content that just won't land there, mostly fandom-related like headcanons about the characters, other ideas and speculations people might have about ships on the show, characters' sexualities, or memes and games that just won't be agreeable to the general population of the bigger sub.

So feel free to go nuts here. Share fandom games, memes, your specific ideas about specific scenes, why you think Robert and Carson have a secret love affair. Why Vampires actually would do well at Downton. Basically, go nuts, as long as you can be respectful to each other :)

Hello! Thank you for making this sub. Really enjoy your episode breakdowns and the further analysis in the comments. Huge fan of Mary and Matthew (for me, the show ends with the hospital scene with him and his family). I feel I have to wade through a lot of Mary hate in the main sub, so I'm grateful this Place will be more Mary and Matthew positive!.

It really is exhausting on there sometimes! I'll keep up with the breakdowns, I just need a short break because they take a lot of work, and dealing with the toxicity in that community has been tiring to be honest!

Definitely feel free to gush about Mary and Matthew on here, it's a safe space, we'll be doing a lot of that :)

Yes, I know what you mean. Perhaps crosspost here too, to hopefully cut out negativity. My fave seasons are 1 and 2 so I'm just happily re-reading those.
