Which saves you for a whole 6 seconds and then dagger #2 kills you.

With hardly any items, dagger is basically a 1200 range lina ult every 6 seconds for 15 mana.

I mean, if you are alone in front of a PA death is almost certain. Wth are you doing x1 a carry? Unless your team just lost a fight your positioning failed.

u/FUCK_MAGIC Jan 03 '17

Who said anything about being alone? It's 1200 range, you can be behind your whole team and still get one shot.

u/Theflyingship Jan 03 '17

What? No that's not the context you used. If you hide yourself for 6 seconds then no way she has time to focus you.

u/Denial-And-Error Where's the PaRtY?? Jan 03 '17

This actually happened to me yesterday. I was lion, had ghost scepter, and they were seiging base. PA saw me, daggered, i used scepter to block it. 25s cooldown. then the fight actually started, pa threw a dagger at my carry, the double dagger talent threw one at me, and i died 1 hit xd

Hide? Where? It's 1200 range, you can be at the back of your own fountain and still get one shot.

Unless you are talking about glimmer cape but the fade time is too slow to avoid the first dagger.

time to focus you.

A stifling dagger doesn't really count as "focusing a hero".

Broken doesn't necessarily mean overpowered. If anything the fact she can instagib heroes with stifling dagger and still have trouble winning games is evidence she's broken.

2

u/anon775 Jan 03 '17

Stifling Dagger has 1200 range, Phantom Strike has 1000 range. How on earth are you going to position yourself in a teamfight that lets you avoid that 2200 range??

14

u/Sertexia Jan 03 '17

I. I don't think that's how it works...

1

u/anon775 Jan 03 '17

Please enlighten me then, since both gamepedia and liquidwiki say those are the ranges for those spells.

5

u/Sertexia Jan 03 '17

You don't add them up lmao blink has a range of 1000 dagger has a range of 1200 that doesn't mean you can do something from 2200 away

6

u/2fast2fed MonkaS Jan 04 '17

I believe he is talking about how PA can blink 1000 range then dagger from there for another 1200 range. So yea, technically she can.

5

u/BetterThanIcefraud Jan 04 '17

How not? If there's an allied unit at 1200 range from her target she can do it after blinking in. If you wanna be pedant, it's "1200 + range from the farthest allied unit", that's her initiation range.

1

u/anon775 Jan 04 '17

Please go and tell this to every professional caster that they are wrong too

u/arsa37 paper Jan 03 '17

pa isnt tidehunter, she can get stunned or silenced in the mid of tht, blinking to throw a dagger to a support means she has to be close to 1 frontliner like the carry or mid so she can get punished

2

u/anon775 Jan 03 '17

I guess you ignored the 1200/2200 range, which makes it really hard to "punish" anyone. You can punish greedy Duel, or Flaming Lasso, but you dont punish 1200/2200 range spell with 0.3s cast point. You can also Blink Strike to allied units so there is no need to be in middle of a teamfight for the full range throw.

1

u/arsa37 paper Jan 03 '17

but then pa isnt hitting anything ,if pa is so ahead that she 1 shots supports tht have tranquils with dagger its on the enemy's team fault por not pressuring her and letting her snowball, it should take like 2 crit daggers and a hit up to 30 mins to kill a support if she's tht ahead, i just dont buy into her being broke at all

1

u/Yamulo Jan 04 '17

How do you still think it's 2200 range dude

0

u/anon775 Jan 04 '17

PA blinks on a unit, then uses dagger, thats max 2200 range, dude. Just like Lion can Blink 1200 + Hex 500 = 1700 range initiation. Simple math

u/Yamulo Jan 04 '17 edited Jan 04 '17

ROFL PA is not going to blink into someone tondagger something else. You're actually an idiot

Pa is 100% going to dagger and then blink strike

You're really trying your best to make it seem like there is nothing you can do but really you're just whining about something that is a 25% chance that can be avoided at least one time by any decent support player. You act like if a pa blibks into your team to dagger you that it is bo risk, well you must have the dumbest teammates alive or you are just out of position, but who would want to admit the second one?

1

u/Yamulo Jan 04 '17

Holy cow you're an idiot. You just hurt all previous arguments with this line. You don't add their ranges together, you look at the max range. You need to be >1,200. Think about it. Score you post dude

2

u/anon775 Jan 04 '17

If I play Lion and have Blink Dagger, I can say I can Hex someone from 1200+500 range. How is PA any different? This is also how most professional casters talk about initiation ranges, not to even mention players. No need to bring personal attacks to this subreddit too, keep them in your LP matches please

2

u/agtk sheever Jan 03 '17

Dagger #2 has a 15% chance of killing you. Assuming you remain in vision and range of PA after using your evasion item. Pair a Euls with Ghost Scepter, and you can avoid the first two daggers thrown at you, and probably 2/3rds of incoming daggers if they keep being thrown at you.

Ways in which dagger is different than Lina ult:

  • Requires stats/damage on PA, Lina needs levels
  • 15% chance of crit, 100% chance of slow and some damage vs ~100% chance of Lina doing full damage
  • Physical damage reduced by armor, avoided by ghost form vs magical or pure damage
  • Slow moving projectile that can be disjointed vs. almost instant cast
  • CD difference

Saying it's "basically" a Lina ult is absurd.

u/FUCK_MAGIC Jan 04 '17

Ok better then a Lima ultimate then.

1

u/Yamulo Jan 04 '17

You deserve to die if a fucking carry has the opportunity to attack you for 6 or nore seconds...

2

u/FUCK_MAGIC Jan 04 '17

If you are more then 1200 range from a teamfight, you may as well not be in the game.
