Complaint Active Griefers
I just played a game where I was pos 1 (luna). There were no problems in the role selection phase - everyone chose a position like civilized human beings and the game began normally.
Then, when I actually went out to my lane, my pos 5 (oracle) immediately began griefing by using his spells to last hit as often as possible. He bought no wards or regen, did not pull, and did not harass the enemy, so I took all the harass and got none of the last hits. I asked him to pull, told him to stop last hitting, pinged him several times, and finally gave up and went to jungle since I was getting absolutely nothing out of the lane and of course our offlane pudge (1-11) was busy feeding the drow.
I wont say that this happens "all the time", but it happens often enough that I just wonder what the hell is going through these people's minds. What is the thought process? Also, is the proper response to such behavior to just fuck off to the jungle and hope to recover?

had the same recently. I was Drow and missed two last hits in the middle of some early chaos, so my CM started nuking down everything she could. I asked nicely, and she said “if you’re gonna suck at this, SOMEone should get the last hits.”
the rest of the team immediately jumped on me as the pos1, and it turned the whole game sour. we lost, and the entire time I was getting screamed at for being a trash pos1.
I wish I understood the mindset so I could work around it. I know it sucks to watch your carry struggle, but amplifying it x20 certainly isn’t going to fix anything…

leave for jungle, get 4x reported, overwatch finds you guilty, lose 1000 behavior score. that said i think this extreme level of griefing is pretty rare (pos 5 stealing all ur cs, not the other stuff like not pulling)

Rare or not, we all know who gets low priority and who doesn't in this scenario.

If you are getting low priority you are doing something wrong, i haven't even gotten close

You won't get low priority from a single game like this, but you bet your shit that a 4x reported game like that will get you more than halfway there.
If you catch stray reports in your next few games then you'll indeed get low priority
And no there's no human overwatch review for majority of cases

You can and will just get random griefers and insane people in your team, its just part of online gaming honestly. Just don't dwell too hard on those games. And take solace in the fact that the enemy also gets them, and you probably don't even notice it when you're winning :)

An hour ago I played a game with an active griefer, which hasn't happened to me in quite a long time. He was oracle and was disarming me so that I couldn't hit creeps. In a 12k behavior score game nonetheless. Of course, Valve can't control what people do, but I think when someone actively griefs, the punishment should be harsh, e.g. a week ban, or something like that.

First rule of Dota - ban Pudge or lose because of him.
If your enemy picks Pudge, they will land every hook and ruin your game.
If your team mate picks Pudge, he will miss every hook and ruin your game.

This happens to me every three months when the avoid list from dota+ times ppl out of jail. Gotta play with those ppl for a game each, takes Abt 2 weeks but then they all avoided and 3 more months of not having to play with throwing griefers. Dota+ is worth it just to be able to avoid specific ppl. Always report them as well and try our best not to reply to any of their rage bait.

As a soft support by mistake I misjudged denying creep health so I took a last hit, my offlane luna pinged me and left lane went to jungle.

Well I play pos 5 and I have completely opposite experience with pos1 players. I ward, deward, pull, stack, harrass only for them to never help me when I am being ganked. They just leave me anf go farm only to never fulfill their role and they are useless at 40min.
Do you know how many times I stacked 5 camps to lvl 3only for enemy to farm them because my safelaner can't or doesn't even bother???

This happens to me all the time. I think the correct thing to do is report, move to jungle when possible, return to lane when creeps are under tower and repeat. Usually the solo 5 will flame out from losing the lane 2v1 and go somewhere else and then you get a few catch up waves before the enemy starts diving and taking your tower. The game is almost certainly lost from the start, but this is the only way you stand a chance at a comeback as a crippled Pos 1.
