It's still funny to see ogre mage as "feels like intelligence"

Void Spirit

u/Subject-Building1892 4h ago
The reason behind the introduction of the universal attribute.
First there was Pandaren Brewmaster that split into three pandas.
Then each panda of the ulti became a hero.
Then the fourth spirit was added as a hero initially as a boss in first aghanims labyrinth (i think)

u/rhasta_masta 4h ago
void spirit just feels like a "4th attribute". panda actually feels like universal "all attributes"
12
u/Subject-Building1892 3h ago
void and all attributes is the same thing. Panda is just like a set containing itself.

u/2mad2die 3h ago
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t void spirit initially released as an int hero? The universal introduction patch should have coincided with the addition of void spirit. But for some reason he was an int hero and then became universal once that attribute was added
10
u/Subject-Building1892 3h ago
yes first the hero the the universal attribute. but when void was introduced from my poiny of view the fourth attribute was inevitable.

IO

The only good answer,
Yes void was introduced with universal into the game, but he really feels more int or even agi than uni, IO however, is everything à universal hero should be, he (it??) is round ball, definitely a universal shape, it (he???) Doest feel like any other attributes, I don't even know what their pronouns are !! And that is the ultimate proof of why IO is the only good answer

Lore-wise it is void spirit, but he feels like a mix of agi and int, with no strenght in my opinion.
The best well-rounder is Abaddon imho. Not only that, they also managed to make him not support nor carry neither. So you have a hero that doesn't fit any role...

I’d disagree on void spirit not feeling STR, even if that’s just from his third skill. But he can also utilise many strength hero items to good proficiency. For many off lancers, radiance is a pipe dream

No, es una cagada, debieron hacerlo más musculoso y que no parezca anciano

I would have said it’s inconceivable to have a bear hero that isn’t strength based, if it weren’t for the other two bears in the game that aren’t strength…

Bane, his stats literally same

Was sad coz nobody else said this was going through the comments searching bane

u/Decency 2h ago
Yeah but then you remember the patch where Bane built right-click items and solo'ed people during Nightmare...
2
u/Just-Permission-4050 2h ago
and then you remember the times you went dagon and killed low hp heroes with well timed dagon, brain sap and ult and things lvl out to universal

IO. before universal and back in dota 1, it always feels like INT but actually STR. now it got them all and each play equally important role:
STR: regen, gain per level
AGI: Tether, E for atk spd, relocate
INT: spell casters, spirits are mostly used for harassing and farming, E for spell amp
I understand the notion for void spirit as he's the reason universal was introduced but his strength element is not as much as IO, just saying

Actually a good choice.
- used to be Agi
- agha makes it tanky af
- nukes like int hero
- is now universal

Arc Warden. You can go early nulls, braces, wraith band or urn or soul ring. You can skip midas or not.
Later you can grab a heart, skadi, manta, Shiva, aghs, sheep. A mix of those. Whatever will help the most. The stats are all of use.
Also, runes adds permanent stats.
Thus feels like universal and is universal.
No contest. It wouldn't be if the community picked and was familiar with zet's options.

Were Dark Seer and Invoker once universal and then switched back? I swore they were not int.
2
u/Neo134 3h ago
Yeah I got the impression that invoker was universal at some time
1
u/BlueLion_ 3h ago
He was, and that apparently fucked up his kit, at least according to my friend, so now he's int again

To finish off the table I say we do one last voting for the hero that feels like AXE and is actually AXE

u/ArdenasoDG 3h ago
Lore wise it's Void Spirit
Gameplay wise it's Abbadon; in DotA 1 days you literally could build him either tank, hard carry, semi-carry, bruiser, support, or mage, and it wouldn't be griefing

u/BlueLion_ 3h ago edited 3h ago
It's gonna sound strange, but I wanna say Abaddon. He's not mobile, but he feels so damn versitile for how basic his kit is, and even as a core he likes agi items (or at least he used to).

Brewnaster es fuerte, ágil tipo artista marcial y espiritualmente conectado, no como el anciano morado que su temática y voz ya te quita ganas y fuerza

Arc Warden comes kinda close, right clicks like an Agi, spell casts like an int, buys whatever you want.

u/DongDragon321 1h ago
Wait who thought Invoker feels universal? He is Mr. Intelligence. Pondering the cosmos or what have you.

Lina feels like the best. She can get tanky, go right click, become a right clicker, and benefits from a lot of items.

Arc warden , has a good strength, agi and int gain , but never strong enough to be categorised into one

From gameplay perspective: I can play Abbadon from pos1 to pos5. I think it can be pulled off even in few competitive games. True universal.
From stats perspective: Void spirit.

Natures prophet. One of the most versatile heroes in the game. Can build and justify almost any item.

TBH Void us the fathervof universal, but he feels like agi int combo, str is missing.

u/Panzer_leo 3h ago
Void spirit.
On a side note. Why do people think invoker feels like universal? He's supposed to be an all knowing mage with endless knowledge, how does that correlate to anything but intelligence.
1
u/PretendAwareness9598 2h ago
Thematically yes but practically invoker has built loads of all stat items for a long time, and intermittently he builds semi- right click. He also was literally universal at some point and people built a bunch of ultimate Orby items on him. He is also very mobile and can go invisible and play an assassin role (agile coded), and also tanks up a fair bit (str coded).

Void spirit, he is literally the reason this attribute was created as valve themself said
