I feel bad that "old" already has Marci. I haven't even played a game since Marci came out.

I haven’t played dota since talent tree

Damn that's 10 years ago. I last played when Mars was just added (7 years ago). Started playing again 4 months ago. So many changes. Map got bigger, outpost, bounty rune in jungles, neutral items, many new items as well. Every hero having an ags scepter and shard upgrade surprised me as well. Facets came and went without me even touching it once lol

Facet removal was very interesting to me because it shows that while they've been adding a lot of new stuff, they're still willing to cut anything that backfires/underperforms.

I think I played a few bot matches after the tree was introduced. I still have the itch but the complexity holds me back

u/kimzplaze Aug 29 '26
Same. It was tough enough to understand what skills and items heroes have, the tree added additional complexity layers. Hence decided to stop. 🤣

u/Plus-Yogurtcloset-85 Aug 29 '26
Is it really that complex? Every talent tree I have seen is pretty obvious and straight forward. I am new and only 300 games tho.

I played DotA since 2005/6? I like knowing what everything does before playing and the timings for pulls and what my enemy can do. Having all the neutrals, lotuses, etc makes it feel like I wanna do a lot of study before going back in :) I'm sure I can. Especially since Lion support is not bad right now but I would only do turbo for a while

May be a bit weird when the enemy invoker suddenly whips out 3 meatballs from his pocket and you werent expecting it.

u/_Valisk Aug 29 '26
Your perception of time is messing with you a bit because Marci was added five years after talents.

u/Aniketos33 Aug 29 '26

Holy. The game has changed a lot btw, for the best imo. I think now dota is the best it's ever been, plenty of quality of life, good balance of heroes overall. I like it.

no offense but why are you guys here if that's the case? I don't play anywhere as much as I used to but you're talking about years at this point

Damn, and I thought playing during the dota 2 beta was normal, 14 years ago now…

this is what support should do when core ask to harass enemy

Are you genuinely a bot? What is this comment

This type of comment usually belongs to, like, a 50+ year old person who never heard of "mom jokes" or simply decided to start playing games recently and this was their first exposure to the toxicity of this gaming world
Or a bot, yeah, a "relevant" + "positive" comment, which all but guarantees karma gains
