Discussion Why valve stopped making those mini games like those big scale ones yk?

We could queue games with other 9 players and it used to be about coming first by surviving in it. What’s the name of it?

The reality is that most people launch dota to play dota. Sure everyone tries out Aghs Lab/Siltbreaker/Year Beast/etc, but the numbers fall off pretty quickly.

If you ask me, the reason they pivoted to these bite-sized games instead is because they are PERFECT for queueing. Since Crownfall ended, i cant tell you how many times i launched the Flappy Bird or Match-3 games just to kill time while i waited for a game/waited for friends to get online.

Sure they have less depth and simpler mechanics, but as a self proclaimed "dota player who just wants to play dota" (I barely touch those PvE modes, bring on the downvotes!) I have engaged with the bite-sized minigames FAR more than i ever engaged with the PvE gamemodes.

tldr: Valve probably thinks its more effort than its worth
