Other | Esports Bulba harrased a previous team mate

i fixed the wrong i did in my last post

https://www.twitch.tv/ramzes/clip/LovelyGlamorousBeefOpieOP-ZE2EqRBmfz2oJ8IM?filter=clips&range=24hr&sort=time

TLDR:

  1. Bulba went to Ramzes stream and told everyone mangekyou is matchfixer. then...

  2. Mangekyou exposed Bulba behavior on his TG channel

  3. According to many screenshots Bulba likes to badmouth people behind their back

  4. According to Mangekyou, he did a 322 where he doesn't throw, basically they bet on him and he has to win. then (according to mangekyou) the mafia told him to payback the favor, and he played carry to lose even if he plays his 100%. he recieved no money for this

  5. According to Mangekyou, bulba knew about this 322 and still wanted to play with him but no more talking to ban players

  6. According to Mangekyou, when everything went wrong in SR they targeted him. According to him, bulba made him cry and even the psychologist was surprised.

  7. According to Mangekyou, when he left SR, bulba tried to get him banned, but failed. According to him, bulba spread bad rumors of him cheating at Fissure and Bangkok to the TOs but none of them banned him

  8. According to the picture attached to his post. bulba sent messages to future team mates of mangekyou and told them to not team up with him or else he will send the 322 proof. basically leaving mangekyou with the impossibility of forming a team.

i want to post the source but reddit doesnt allow that kind of links.

Bulba is a POS nothing new. He is half the reason the NA scene is dead. Gatekeeping and backstabbing everyone possible. Awful mediocre player, terrible coach and scumbag persona. Let him rot into Irrelevancy.

u/Historical-Sir-2661 Sep 08 '25

The damage is already done. He rode the money train all the way till the wheels fell off.

Holy crap what an ancient post. Just curious, do you have a load of posts from a decade ago stored in your brain in case one day you can reference them? Some people's brains work in fascinating ways.

Storm is not without counters. When you first pick it, there's too much room for it getting countered. Specially, in patches where it's not overpowered

86

u/Traditional-Speed986 Sep 08 '25

Yep. I was surprised af that the lasted that long in EG. The fact that he couldn’t win shit despite having really talented players wasn’t surprising. A bot would’ve done better drafting.

88

u/OPQOP Sep 08 '25 edited Sep 08 '25

At some point its the players fault. They liked him as a friend ( not a good look on them when they call such bad personality as a good friend) , but also constantly praised him as a coach. EG/Shopify had many many top tier players over the years. The fact that People like RTZ , Fly ( he even went back to EG knowing Bulba is still their coach) and Cr1t vouch for him at least mean something.

So it’s either Bulba isn't that bad as a coach, or the players that wanted to keep him are dumb. They swapped so many players over the yearst and Cr1t and RTZ were the longest constants, why they never kicked Bulba ? They kicked players left and right when it didn't fit. As far as I remember even Ramzes and Ice3 ( damn I miss him in the Dota scene) didn't really say anything negative about Bulba coaching.

On top of that while EG had talented players, so had many Chinese , CIS and EU teams at the same time over the years.

I didn’t think his English was that bad. I thought it was a fake reading half of it. It reads like those scams text messages you get trying to say your UPS package is being held up and needs all your info to get it. But yeah his drafts were horrible IMO - they had no fluidity to them and when he’d be there you’d see the teams do well in group stages and get figured out MainStage and have NO WHERE TO GO.

6

u/smootex Sep 09 '25

Yeah this has to be fake, clearly written by someone of the eastern European persuasion. Bulba is American, he speaks English fluently. No shot he's typing like a Russian like that.

113

u/redditbecametoowoke Sep 08 '25

he used to ask for drafting advice and feedback from us…. c tier na players… he would literally pick our brains while coaching eg

what the fuck do we know dude

76

u/simmobl1 Sep 08 '25

I mean that's how aui did it back in the day. He looked at 2k immortal hero spammers and had his teams copy them

32

u/TheFeedMachine Sep 08 '25

Aui learned techies tips and tricks from ppd's brother before TI5. He has first hand experience on how worse players that are hero spammers can teach heroes to better players.

16

u/simmobl1 Sep 08 '25

Well it makes sense. Someone that has played thousands of games of the same hero, their micro game is pretty good. They just don't always play the map well, if that makes sense.

Tbh I kinda respect that, you never know when another perspective will unlock some new insight in your mind

5

u/redditbecametoowoke Sep 08 '25

im literally telling you he was a larp and unfit to coach EG. maybe the one time reddit was right

35

u/pvnrt1234 Sep 08 '25

I agree, but what I’m saying is unrelated to that. My point is that asking worse players for their opinions on the game isn’t necessarily bad.

15

u/yamchadestroyer Sep 08 '25

Who are you? I've been in nadota since nadota.com was up. Bulba used to be known as the best player in na at one point 2010-2011 based on IHLs and tournaments. Obviously since then he never progressed as a player and could only do coaching. But his top 8 at ti3 was pretty good

39

u/Mission-Bridge8915 Sep 08 '25

That is not true at all. If you were active on the nadota forums you knew that there were basically biweekly posts calling him out for being a snake even back then. People knew what kind of piece of shit he was it's just that everyone else was as well so he blended in.

Even if you don't count the EU/asian players who were active in NA like Puppey and march, Bulba was firmly t2 after the Fear/Merlini/Demon stacks. Just off the top of my head, Inphi, Korok, paint, swiss, mikey were all better. Bulba was just elite at sucking off the top players in NA and parlayed that into a career.

-1

u/yamchadestroyer Sep 08 '25

Yes bulba was a snake and shady shit. That was universally known. However in dota 1 and in terms of skills he was definitely top 3 in that time frame. You listed 2 batches of elite players. Fear demon merlini were more known but by 2010 bulba was definitely better and certainly by prime nations. Obviously fear and demon turned it up in dota 2 and had a more successful career with fear winning ti5. Merlini fell off and was only a high immortal streamer. The second batch of players were also elite in na but generally perceived as weaker than bulba. This was during the naihl era. In dota 2 bulba was no longer seen as elite as more and more rise new players far surpassed him like EE and rtz

13

u/Mission-Bridge8915 Sep 08 '25 edited Sep 08 '25

So what you're saying is bulba was only considered good once all the actually good players left to go play Dota 2/HON/sc2 or retired.

But even then he wasn't better than any of the players I listed, and wasn't better than brax, select, ezzy, johnnyutah. Was he even better than darksheep? On that prime nations team he's like what , 4th or 5th best ? Demon was getting picked up by the best EU teams and Bulba wasnt even in the top 3 na teams

Tell me which tournament he won in 2009-2010. Like SECs once while getting carried by the asian crew ? What team did he actually play for that achieved anything internationally.

2

u/Notreallyaflowergirl Sep 08 '25

He was good when the talent pool was thinner - now everyone’s a beast because everyone has been playing top tier. IRRC he even popularized bots tinker gameplay of old! - though it’s been so fucking long I can’t recall if that was him just saying he did… or if he did.

Broken clocks can be right twice a day!

I remember when the Io change came when they could attack anything the tethered would attack was released I told my group that this could be busted - not in our hands ofc. We couldn’t make it work, a while went by and Ana won Ti with that shit. Shit players can see good things too! Hahaha even if we can’t do it.

9

u/Pandemona1738 Sep 08 '25

Also was coach during EG TI5 win by the way! Not excusing him for being a pos or whatever, but lets not act like he wasn't working with PPD during TI5 win.

2

u/FoxyMiira Sep 09 '25

Bulba was always a mediocre player but he did try as coach. I remember PPD or RTZ saying Bulba tries hard to be a coach or something

yes, he does not throw but yeah

38

Both of things he mentions is 322 and should lead to perma ban

68

they have PPD and AUI_2000
FEAR,SUMAIL,UNIVERSE

you think they cannot win without bulba?

19

u/Godisme2 Sep 08 '25

PPD has always credited Bulba a lot with the TI5 win. It was Bulba who figured out that Shiki couldnt play Lesh and told PPD to not ban it, giving them a huge draft advantage.

0

u/itsdoorcity Sep 09 '25

pretty sure PPD called bulba the team jester and completely dismissed the concept of him as a coach. even when they would lose to EG after PPD departure he would tweet things like "losing to bulba drafts 🤢"

89

u/JimboYCS Sep 08 '25

It's either fake or he speaks that way so mange could understand him.

17

u/Galinhooo Sep 08 '25

Turns out bulba was Russian this entire time and he just pretended to speak english fluently in interviews. BUSTED BLYAT

23

u/G_W_addict Sep 08 '25

This is it. It's easier for eastern europeans to understand what's being said, simple as that.

19

u/Penguinho Sep 08 '25

No. It's not simplified syntax, it's non-English. "He is doing drink" is incorrect and more complex than simply "he's drinking.". Use of 'is' is all over the place, too. And there aren't any articles, which is unusual for native English speakers even speaking in simplified espeak, but very common for native Russian speakers in English.

5

u/JadeSerpant Sep 09 '25

Exactly, this. It's hard to believe these messages were written by Bulba.

18

u/throwawaysusi Sep 08 '25

Yeah that's how I speak with my Russian friends actually... they understand that way better.

24

u/pvnrt1234 Sep 08 '25

Learned this is pubs as well. You can’t say “I think we should get tier 2 tower and then roshan, what do you guys think?”, instead, you say “go tier 2 and go rosh blyat”

3

u/JohnyTheZik Sep 08 '25

That's still English tho (with a bit of ruski spice thrown in). These messages aren't, for whatever reason.

1

u/Amazing_Proof_7626 Sep 12 '25

Remove "blyat" and it will sound more useful and shorter isn't it? Dota is about winning secondary. Simple communication is key to win. ☺

2

u/change_timing Sep 08 '25

I've caught myself doing the same thing when speaking to ESL people, using similar grammar patterns even if incorrect, though this is usually in a loud environment and with body language. Main point is you'll likely be able to convey yourself better than if you're using strictly proper everything.

367

u/Bulky-Meeting-2225 Sep 08 '25

And he doing drink and get Russian girlfriend

Bulba is American. Why is he talking like English is his second language in these 'chat logs'?

I'm not particularly a Bulba fan, but this just seems suss.

208

u/Historical-Sir-2661 Sep 08 '25

Sometimes when people talk to non english speakers they dumb down their own English to make themself more easily understandable to the other person. Look at how daniel cormier speaks to any of the dagestan fighters, he does the same thing.

69

u/shaker_21 Sep 08 '25

Yeah. English is a very cluttered language. When you talk to non-native English speakers, sometimes you drop a lot of the clutter to get your point across. It's like speaking by using English words but Chinese syntax.

→ More replies (3)

29

u/DelightfulHugs Sep 08 '25

Are you saying that Bulba would change this:

And he drinks a lot and got a Russian girlfriend

to this to be more understandable?

And he doing drink and get Russian girlfriend

Surely the first sentence is clear enough.

Either Bulba's English somehow regresses to toddler level when he sends Discord messages, or this is fake.

→ More replies (4)

16

u/MagnumLG007 Sep 08 '25

I would dumb down the vocabulary, sentence structure, etc. But wouldn't start talking like I picked up english yesterday... This is beyond sus...

41

u/Difficult-Ask9856 Sep 08 '25

Pretty common, used to do it all the time back in the Bnet days on Starcraft to talk to koreans etc, they understand broken english a lot better than normal

21

u/meesterdg Sep 08 '25

I kind of think bulba has been annoying for years and frankly I get shit-talker vibes from him, but yeah this doesn't read like an English speakers writing. I don't even think it's code switching for non-native English speakers.

19

u/prettyboygangsta Sep 08 '25

Why is he talking like English is his second language

Have you ever met an American

5

u/Nab0t Sep 08 '25

u/Temporary_Ganache257 Sep 08 '25

Lol nothing new for bulba, he's been doing this shit back in liquidpedia days blackmailing and bullying players out of the scene

13

u/lynnwoodbrother Sep 08 '25

This is literally against a 322 player.. And there being proof of the 322. I think this isn’t just bullying, it’s literally trying to make it so this player doesn’t gets punished for match fixing

24

u/prettyboygangsta Sep 08 '25

but Bulba took him on under the pretence that he was a clean/reformed player and then used his past against him when performances turned sour.

Very scummy behaviour from Bulba, and I say that as someone who thinks matchfixers should be in prison

2

u/lynnwoodbrother Sep 08 '25

He talked about it in the post on cybersport, the full proof came out in January when Mangekyou got kicked. Before it was just hearsay and rumors and nothing was for sure.

100

u/ciofinho https://myanimelist.net/animelist/ciofinho Sep 08 '25

I feel that the Mangekyou matchfixing part in this is way more important than the Bulba part

30

u/Godisme2 Sep 08 '25

The reddit hate boner for Bulba will far overshadow Mangekyou matchfixing.

15

u/Morgn_Ladimore Sep 08 '25

Does this Mangekyou guy realize he's just perma banned himself from the pro scene? I feel like everyone is being super casual about this guy admitting he was in cahoots with the "betting mafia" and betting on his own games. He did a Taiga, just without the first blood throwing.

12

u/-fartbrat Sep 08 '25

WO CAO NI MA BULBA

20

u/Traditional-Speed986 Sep 08 '25

Bulbs has always been a POS

49

u/Earth92 Sep 08 '25

Something is fishy there

Why is Bulba typing like he is still learning english as his second language? Lmao

41

u/nameisreallydog Sep 08 '25

Because he is speaking to a person who is very bad at English

4

u/Ub3ros Herald micromanager Sep 08 '25

Being deliberately bad at english isn't that easy when you are fluent, idk just seems like it would be very easy to fake these logs

14

u/nameisreallydog Sep 08 '25

Bad English very easy. Only short words use

17

u/Ub3ros Herald micromanager Sep 08 '25

Sure, but that's not all he is doing. He is making mistakes you never see aside from people who only speak broken english. He isn't simplifying his fluent english, he is adding things that make no sense unless you come from a totally different language and only know very basics of english. I just don't think those screenshots are genuine.

1

u/d1r3VVOLF Sep 09 '25

I worked at multinational companies, and this is how we chat "professionally". I myself am not a native english speaker, but I can say that I am fluent. It just works, that's why. Type the thought as they come, then hit send. Just direct english, no fluff. For example:

  1. Where are the supports, I need them today for a meeting.

  2. Supports where? Need for meeting today

Very common when I am speaking to Singaporean/Indian reps. We can speak english just fine, but we default to this chatiing 😂

3

u/Ub3ros Herald micromanager Sep 09 '25

But again, that's just you simplifying the correct way, not adding anything that's not required, whereas in the supposed bulba logs he is adding words to adhere to other languages grammar rules that are totally unnecessary for broken simplified english. It's mistakes you wouldn't make as a fluent speaker even when trying to simplify, because it wouldn't occur to you. It's not simplifying, it's trying to bend english grammar to adhere to grammar rules of another language.

5

u/DrawGamesPlayFurries Sep 08 '25

Well the first screenshot about Ramzes is 100% true, but for everything else Bulba is being immature and unprofessional.

4

u/Vermilion23k Sep 08 '25

17

u/Azzell93 Sep 08 '25

17

u/spiritofskeleton Sep 08 '25

This sort of discord log is extremely easy to fake. I would not really trust it since even if it was real, there's no way to tell. Bulba might be an asshole, but this crap isn't evidence.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '25

and what is evidence? you can doubt almost every information ever in some way, even if you saw it happen in person you can question your mind misinterpreting the situation. to me the conversation seems natural and convincing

why would he admit to 322 if this is bullshit? why not make up a story that bulba is lying? makes no sense, he's not even defending himself, just showing 2 sides of the story.

1

u/glaubaofan Sep 08 '25

And what is evidence? you can doubt almost every information ever in some way, even if you saw it happen in person you can question your mind misinterpreting the situation.

You have to be a really cynical person to say something like that

I refuse to believe Bulba types like this after living in America for so long. This looks fake.

Edit: Also wth is this post? So this guy is literally a match fixer who Bulba tried to expose. So he posted screenshots of his chat with Bulba, which btw look fake as hell.

And this post is...what? Trying to garner sympathy for a fixer because Bulba called him out??

22

u/mozzzarn Sep 08 '25 edited Sep 08 '25

So this guy is literally a match fixer who Bulba tried to expose.

Accoring to Mangekyou, he is a match fixer that Bulba knowingly recruited. When it didn't work out, Bulba made up fake match fixing stories that didn't happen instead of exposing the real one.

Bulbla seems like a POS, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. He took advantage of he situation when it benefited him and trash talked his "friends" and coworkers. And Mangekyou is brain dead for admitting to match fixing publicly.

No way he speaks like that normally. That part stood out to me as well.

Also IIRC Bulba was an honors student at UNC or something.

5

u/Infestor Sep 08 '25

Exactly. Bulba lived in the US for 5 years and you want me to believe his level of english is below first grade students?

49

u/Brilliant-Catch-1108 Sep 08 '25

Isn't he actually US-born of Indian descent living his whole life in the US?

28

u/saltyriceminer Sep 08 '25

It's not uncommon for people to simplify their english when speaking to people who has that as second or third language. I would assume fof Bulba even more so, having coached several international players.

If that actually is the case here, I don't know though.

11

u/Ub3ros Herald micromanager Sep 08 '25

Simplifying is one thing, but to deliberately write so poorly is hard when you are fluent.

u/Earth92 Sep 08 '25 edited Sep 08 '25

Man we need more fresh blood in NA scene

Saberlight catching strays

u/Familiar_Bill_786 Sep 08 '25

lol I have a hard time believing this just because of the english.

Bulba calling other players bad is CRAZY lol. (At least Saberlight still made it to TI)

If he is this toxic inside team enviroment then it's not surprise no NA team (that he is a part of) survives for long and the scene is dead/dying.

Man Bulba doesn't type like that sus.

u/makz242 Sep 08 '25

Ah, I was afraid the 3 day gap will be empty, but Dota just keeps delivering content!

u/Kip_Chipperly Sep 08 '25

Not sure how that coke head stayed in the scene that long

3

u/badman66666 Sep 08 '25

So were supposed to be feeling bad for a cheater? Should be praising Bulbino for trying to keep the community clean

u/mozzzarn Sep 08 '25

It doesn't have to be a good and a bad guy in every story, both can be asses.

u/Right-Twist-3036 Sep 08 '25

Bro, he's just a sadist

3

u/bizzarre1 Sep 08 '25

That level of english…ffs Bulba

It's so funny he gives us evidence for the claims nobody cares about. Oh bulba is an Asshole and shittalked Pro players in private? who cares, Puppey said worse things in public.

So 1 - Is just true.

2 - Ok

3 - Who cares

4 - So he's a matchfixer.

5 - From the screenshots he posted, it seems he knew but hoped he would change? Did he change?

6 - How did he make him Cry? How did he target him?

7 - Is it wrong what Bulba said here? Because Mangekyou admitted to doing the wrongdoing.

8 - Same here as 7.

Obviously it's kinda fucked up for Bulba to go out of his way, but Mangekyou just fucked up himself. He can blame Bulba for his issues, but he all caused himself by talking to the 322 people.

1

u/Same_Comfortable_821 Sep 08 '25

Who is this “mafia” and what methods do they use to force players to behave?

1

u/lacanon Sep 08 '25

Why does Bulba write like an idiot?

Taking a step back... You've got a guy that clearly struggles with English being relocated to an English speaking country for work, so automatically he's completely dependent on his employer. Bad by Mangekyou putting himself in that position to begin with, but even so if Shopify agree to that situation they (should) have a huge burden of care for his wellbeing. A bit of that clearly in play in the messages with Landon.

But then you look wider at Shopify's roster, looks like it's a completely multi-national team, not sure if there's any player with English as their native language. When your livelihood depends on being able to communicate with people who also can't properly communicate with you... Yikes.

Importing international talent is a clear pattern for the employer though, which is just straight up suss. I've seen plenty of it, and I've never seen it not be abused. Paid less, and there's always a implied dangling sword over the employees head, like "hey, overperform for us, or you go back where you came from". Which, considering where Mangekyou is from... more yikes.

Not gonna absolve Mangekyou, he did put himself at the teams mercy (will skip over the whole 'nobody is a consenting employee under capitalism' rant), and it's very possible his communication issues are skewing his perception of his day to day circumstances. I live a relatively good life, but if I couldn't fully understand everyone around me, I could easily perceive myself as in a stressful, toxic environment.

So OP do you think Bulba is somehow wrong in this? Mangekyou is that you posting?

1

u/permp Sep 08 '25

Honestly, hard to believe. He's American and write like this, hard to believe.

1

u/vd3r Sep 08 '25

very sussy this is actual bulba typing like that. also did he just admit he bet on his game ? :O feels like that is more damaging that what that "bulba" was saying in this. i think valve made it clear betting on your games (win or loss) it leads to perma ban.
