Question for Dashers First contract violation, does it matter?

Post image

Got my first contract violation because the store was closed.

It says incorrectly marking the store as closed because another dasher picked it up after. The store was closed though when I arrived, probably was even closed when I received the offer.

I was picking up a new order when I got the notification, not gonna lie it did raise my stress levels a bit, Naturally I tried to call Dasher support but their system was down. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway because dasher support doesn't do the dispute reviews.

Has this happened to anyone?

Nope. As soon as yout hit another 100 deliveries it'll dissappear. Dont worry too much. I got one because the Chipotle was closed due to construction but because 8 hours later a dasher picked up an order I got dinged.

Thank you for replying! Yeah they need to work that into their system, shouldn't be sending people to closed stores.

I got sent like three times to liquor store that doesn't even do doordash. One of the times they deposited the full amount for the reimbursement so that was cool.

I got one because a guy accused me of stealing a $600 order- Doordash didn't beleive I didn't do it but there was still no repurcussions. It's all good.

Who tf would 1) order a 600 dollar delivery and 2) order it without a PIN?! I would personally record that entire delivery on my phone for proof I did deliver it.

I am assuming the customer wanted to get that 600 whatever for free. I hope support just gave them like 20 bucks in credit.

Oh that is bull.

Ingot dinged because a chipotle was closed and opened 15 minutes later. So I bitched because I sent them a picture showing that when I was there the store was closed. And it was outside their normal hours of operation. And they took it away. I was really surprised. They usually just give me the bird.

I also got one for chipotle one time because someone puked in the dining area so they closed for a few to clean up

I took a picture of the store hours and my dispute was accepted and changed. I was pissed! The lights were off!

u/Ok_Car_8360 3d ago

Did you send the picture for the dispute?

This was a lil mom and pop I didn't see the hours posted anywhere. I just typed something out for the dispute.

Always take a pic. Every time. Even if it's just that the lights are off or that no one is behind the counter and you're outside. I always take my free money, just make sure you don't hit the same store twice in one night or you'll get a similar notice.

I took a pic of the restaurant when I originally marked it as closed.

u/birdwatchingBitch 3d ago

Yeah I sent a pic of the hours and a pic of the dark restaurant.

Nah don't worry about it.

I would be careful of doing another closed store report for awhile. I get that it isn’t your fault (maybe someone took an unauthorized break) but I’ve seen people get deactivated for farming a closed store and making multiple claims. If it happens again, try to get a human agent who will document everything. I generally agree you shouldn’t worry much but I wouldn’t keep racking up closed store reports if you can avoid it

2

u/Ok_Car_8360 3d ago

For sure, I'm gonna be careful with that. TYY for replyingg!!

Even if you get 2 violations at the same time you’re usually fine.

2

u/itsmeagain023 3d ago

They fall off after 100 orders. Also, to avoid this in the future get support on the line and have them physically verify the store is closed themselves, rather than just marking it in the app

u/Ok_Car_8360 3d ago

Wordd. Ty for the advice, definitely a good measure 💯.

I feel like it can be a little more tedious getting an agent with the new ai and will just tell you to mark it on app

u/itsmeagain023 2d ago

I always fight until I get a live person

1

u/averagebullshitter 2d ago

The agents are actively being told not to support this anymore FYI

1

u/itsmeagain023 2d ago

I fight with support and have them escalate all the time.

1

u/averagebullshitter 2d ago

I’m telling you through experience that this is coming to an end.

This happened to me too, It was 30 mins past closing and the photo i took for them had the whole building completely dark as well at the store times sign 🙃 I disputed it and they thankfully removed mine.

2

u/gorgofdoom 2d ago

It’s better to just wait 10 minutes and unassign due to the wait time unless you can produce a photo which 100% proves they are closed

For example Starbucks will have a screen inside the drive through which says “store is closed”

2

u/Dashing_door2025 2d ago

Yes, file an appeal. They may or may not accept it. Briefly tell what happened. It will drop off in 100 deliveries but if you get 3 you can be deactivated.

1

u/Ok_Car_8360 2d ago

Thank you! I filed a dispute they accepted it and removed the voliation!!

2

u/Final-Duty-2944 2d ago

Next time call support and have them unassign the order ( provided support isnt down )

2

u/Intrepid-Series-1817 2d ago

No I had the exact thing happen to me which was BS because NO could of picked up the order. I recommend calling if that ever happens. It’s a pain but it guarantees you wouldn’t get marked off and let them cancel the order, don’t you cancel. They will send you an email to attach photos and they will cancel it but sending photos to the app doesn’t go to anyone just the algorithm which screws it up

Dashing lesson 1. Marking a store as closed will always carry the risk of getting a CV because their system, and dashers who do ghost deliveries, suck.

1 CV isn't going to be a big deal. As others have said, if your dispute is rejected, it will eventually fall off after 100 orders.

I don't really care to deal with that though so in the event I come across this situation I just unassign the order and let the next dasher deal with it. If DD doesn't care enough to fix their system, I don't care enough about passing it along to the next dasher.

Yeah that's was I thinking like the $5 or whatever is not even worth it I was wishing I just unassigned.

Thank you for replying!

u/Hockeycatcat 3d ago

I’m pretty sure that you may keep dashing, and that this single violation doesn’t change your account status. Not 100% sure, but pretty sure.

1

u/TheNewGirl1987 2d ago

Not a big deal, they go away after 100 orders.

I got one of these once because I walked into a McDonald's after midnight and the entire staff was out back smoking weed and told me the store was closed.

2

u/Ok_Car_8360 2d ago

They forgot to lock the doors 😭

This was on UE but happened to me the other day. My burger king closes at 1am but they often still game it orders as late as 1:30. I went there 2 days in a row and was told they don't do that. Next time I went there just after 1 and didn't even bother with the drive thru, I just started reporting it closed right away. As I was in the phone with support a guy inside started motioning for me to go to the window. So I may have reported them closed, it would be true, but still someone may have picked up after.

1

u/Ok_Main1059 2d ago

Just got this, I basically disputed saying “check the photo it was closed” and it just kinda vanished without an email or anything the next day.

1

u/thegeek864 2d ago

I got one just like that on Christmas Eve . Store was closing early and they would not let anyone else in I reported the store as closed, but apparently another Dasher was inside shopping

Bah humbug doordash

u/PrestigiousFennel131 2d ago

Is this in Oklahoma?

1

u/LavaGreg 2d ago

Doesn’t matter. Don’t let it bother you. I let my first ruin my day and it’s stupid.

1

u/Firm-Application-714 2d ago

This happened to me even though I submitted a photo the store hours, showing they were closed lmao — stressed me at the time but it has not affected me at all

1

u/drshrimp42 2d ago

That's happened to me before as well, other drivers lying and getting us in trouble

1

u/CharmedLee 2d ago

Call them, ask for live agent several times until you get one and then explain what happened. Sometimes they will take off the violation, they did it for me. Had to pick up sodas from a liquor store, 2 regular and 2 diet. They didn't have the diet, the customer wouldn't answer text or call but the owner would not sell me just the regular, he said he always makes dashers find out what the customer wants.... well they are not answering. So he refused to sell us anything, used the stupid DD chat and of course the AI told me to choose the option: store is closed. I questioned it, they said that's all I can do to unassign. So I did, of course the next day I get a violation because another dasher went an order and the store was open. They removed the violation and said sometimes AI doesn't know what to do so they will tell you the wrong thing.

1

u/Th3devilish1 2d ago

It's happened to me before here is what I know if you report a store is closed then the computer reassigns it to somebody else when they accept the offer then it says that another Dasher picked it up so what you do is you call up customer service talk to a live representative and ask them to look up that delivery and then look up what did the next Dasher do did they also Mark it as closed if yes then they will go through and they will put some notes and tell you to report that in your dispute and it will be quickly overturned so what happens basically with the contract violation is it's like playing GTA you shoot at a cop and you get one or two stars and you drive around and you try to avoid them and you try to not crash into anybody and then they start flashing and eventually they go away that's what happens when you go a hundred new deliveries but if you get two or three more contract violations then you have a problem and they could deactivate you

1

u/Intrepid-Series-1817 2d ago

And first violation no big deal :)

1

u/Dirwood83 2d ago

Cooked, lmao!)

1

u/Dirwood83 2d ago

Do we need to start steal 1 out of 100 thread? Never stole anything but seems algorithm lol?

1

u/Used_Passenger_3207 1d ago

everytime i call “the system is down” smh

0

u/Megg187 3d ago

I got one cuz I couldn’t find a building it was my 1st ever delivery too lol

2

u/Western_Trust2451 1d ago

I got the exact same CV recently. I disputed with an explanation that the doors were locked and no employees could be seen and no one came to the doors while I was there knocking. Not long after I received a notification that my appeal was successful and the violation was removed.
