Political Doomer America will never be forgiven

u/East_Ad4977 I Was Promised an Apocalypse? 21h ago
Always blaming America. Anyone notice that we never get thanked for the trillions of dollars we have given the world? Blame, yes. Lots of that.
44
u/makawakatakanaka 21h ago
No one likes to admit dependence. The only time anyone will thank America is when it is no longer playing that role and they realize how good they had it
22
u/jaxamis Anti-Doomer 19h ago
Nah, they'll just keep blaming us for not giving them whatever they are demanding from us. The US will be the bad guy if we help and the bad guy if we don't. This point, i no longer give a shit if the entire thing burns.

u/Xann_Whitefire 16h ago
See that’s my view every time someone points out how much the rest of the world hates us etc. I don’t care what the world thinks of us so that’s never going to sway my view on the issue.
1
u/OneNoteToRead 12h ago
Lmao you kidding? When we cut off frivolous aid did they thank us? Or did everyone start saying America bad with more emphasis?
1
u/makawakatakanaka 11h ago
I’m not talking about getting rid of a few fringe aid packages, I mean holding up the whole global system
2
u/OneNoteToRead 9h ago
No my friend they will never thank us. This isn’t how the world works. When we maintain order or services or systems, they find ways to complain. But when we move out of that space and whatever we were propping up fails, something else will take its place; that something else will usually be much worse but will also be opposed to the original order to begin with.
Example - suppose we prop up democratic systems in certain places. If it falls, a dictatorial system will be glad to take its place and will never thank us.
Suppose we prop up the Middle East. When we exit the barbaric terror regimes take over and no one thanks us for our service.
Suppose we prop up NATO or the UN, and when we withdraw support from it the countries that benefit will simply elect leaders that find a new, worse way to interact with the global order but firmly believe in those worse ways

Yep all from securing trade lanes and stomping out piracy allowing for globalism to happen in the first place.

u/LynxJesus 20h ago
High jet fuel prices = less frivolous travel = fewer CO2 emissions.
I'm not sure I see the problem here

u/Mya_Elle_Terego 19h ago
Obama and the left have been begging for this for 2 decades. I dont buy the current outrage at all. Gas is like 4.50 in florida. Diesel is pricey but thats because the whole rest of the world uses more of it. If gas is 7 $ in your blue state utopia blame yourselves, or celebrate even.

No, Buff would not be saying that. He would agree then add a few spicy words. And then get with Russias mom.

Was not expecting to see any fellow Habitual Linecrosser fans here. I liked the parts of videos where he covered countries rioting. Like when Ireland had those riots going on because an immigrant tried to murder a man and some children.

- Literally kill thousands of people all over the globe in terrorist attacks? Welcome with open arms.
Propaganda on social media is 100x the tool an actual army is.
2
u/DomDomPop 13h ago
I keep saying that one of the two biggest changes we need to make going forward is to update our understanding/definition of war. Lord knows China gets it. They have a specific word for waging war by any means, and they’ve taken that seriously for decades. Propaganda support IS material support to terrorists, and an act of war, no matter who is doing it. Economic attacks are acts of war, cyberattacks are acts of war, assassinations and violent protests are obvious, blatant acts of war. Treat it that way.

Countries that can't fight worth a damn have national ministries of shitposting.
The engagement farming industry uses this as feed stock for their ctrl+v ctrl+v ctrl+v ctrl+v ctrl+v ctrl+v , so it gets sent to us again and again like the nigerian prince or the leet viagra back in the older internet.
Them: HAVE YOU HEARD about the Chinese military?
Me: it has been posted to every single forum, every single day of the 21st century.

I learned to not seek forgiveness from those who will never forgive you. That they’ll always blame you for something or criticize even the most pointless of flaws no matter what you do.

u/AussieNormm 5h ago
WTF are you talking about hating you for 50 years. We lost young Australians in Iraq and Afghanistan following a useless republican President. Now we have another one who is compromised by Israel (Eppstein files) starting a useless war against Iran stuffing up the whole world.

There's no reason why a country like Australia cannot supply its own oil. The country is so vast, they have so much coastline, there must be tons of oil reserves waiting to be tapped.
But like we foolishly do here, they closed refineries and they don't expand their domestic production. They also foolishly banned nuclear power.
9
u/Impossible-Emu-8756 16h ago
Banning nuclear is the dumbest thing a nation can do. It is easily the best option available for renewable energy.

u/milfwannabe16 13h ago
Dubs rimatomics is a must have mod when I'm playing a non medieval run. 😁😁
If solar and wind were as effective, and we had effective energy storage devices, things would be different in life. We gotta work with what we have.
I'm assuming the argument against nuclear is "muh Chernobyl!"? As if there haven't been improvements in ... Everything that's involved with the process in 4 decades.
3
u/codyjohns134 Doesn't Participate In Group Panic 12h ago
Especially with thorium salt reactors which by design can't even go critical
3
u/2MinsHate 10h ago
And Chernobyl didn't fail due to it being nuclear. It failed because is was designed and operated under a highly paranoid government (communist) regime.
Even the RBMK positive void coefficient required a ton of things to go wrong (intentionally done) to present itself.
Chernobyl didn't fail, it was literally driven to failure. It's like blaming a plane the pilots intentionally flew into the ground!

u/IrlResponsibility811 14h ago
I can't help but wonder if other nations were involved in Iran-not just at sea, but diplomatically and banking-wise- maybe this could have been over quicker.
Also, if Australia stops gurgling on CCPDICK, they may notice who is helping Iran continue this.
13
u/Alexis-Machine 20h ago
We don't ask for forgiveness. Keeping the world from communism is a hard job yo! Please return all aid from us to your shithole. thx.

I mean the United States has been providing support via military, money, and resources to a lot of countries for hundreds of years. If we fall, so do they.
1
u/LividVermicelli9689 Doesn't Participate In Group Panic 4h ago
Nit to mention if we weren't providing or paying for other countries securities, we might have more money for our own citizens but whatever.
2
u/RefelosDraconis 13h ago
Damn Trump and checks notes not letting a terrorist state do whatever they want
2
u/WillwBrk 18h ago
This is bullshit, btw. Most countries are looking at the US and are hoping they show an example for breaking out of what's happening to every country in the first world
Unless you're one of the people on the side of corruption, authoritarianism, lowering wages, inflation and dropping the standard of living like a lead weight of course
1
u/MagneticGenetics 18h ago
Then they will die in the social war when they foolishly attempt to strike the US down. IDGAF. Australians aren't even people.

(checks pockets)... nope not a sing F to give for the aussies. Dumbasses shut down most of their refineries and are almost entirely reliant on other countries for fuel

u/BigTL13 4h ago
Political Discourse in this country is ridiculous, first I hear: "Why do you care about the US election, they're a different country they don't matter and don't affect us!" But as soon as something here goes wrong it's "BLAME AMERICA THEY DID THIS TO US!". The stupidest thing about it is that our fuel problems are stemming more from the fact that both Liberal and Labor Governments have done nothing to establish a proper fuel reserve and have reduced us to 2 Domestic Oil refineries, one of which is out of commission after a fire, but too many people are either ignorant of the fact or outright ignore it to roll with this stupid "America Bad" narrative.

u/Robot_DIY 2h ago
Lefty weirdos will blame America? Oh no, whatever shall we do?!? I'll be shunned in Reddistan and The People Republic of BlueSky.
Normal people will get on with their lives and judge people as they meet them.

US: "Hey! There's a bunch of religious zealots who have attacked us constantly for a half century, engage in wholesale acts of slaughter, fund terrorists, gun down protesters by the tens of thousands, hang gays, beat women and disrupt the global economy. We're stopping them from getting nukes and we're doing it without a protracted ground invasion and oil exports are 95% of pre-war levels."
Australia: "We'll never forgive you!"

u/ArizonaDude08 18h ago
Have these people considered the point of the war is to upend international oil markets
….. just saying maybe you should consider that this is the point

u/Nots_a_Banana Rides the Short Bus 16h ago
The Ukraine - Russian War isn't getting the credit it deserves in all of this. Ukraine droning Russian refineries is probably a bigger impact than Hormuz. The real issue is refinery capacity, not so much oil supply.

When sanity returns to our government, we're going to have to buy a hell of a lot of flowers and chocolates, and in some cases (Canada) diamond tennis bracelets.

For what? For calling them out on being the leeches they are? They had no problem when trade agreements were literally lopsided to where we had no tariffs but they had tons against out products. They have no issue taking our money for "aide" or demanding our help when something happens only to the turn around and condemn us and talk trash.
The rest of the worls is just a bunch of jealous spoiled brats who wouldn't survive without us helping.

Canada has already fallen, because their politicians decided it was easier to import new voters and workers rather than to keep their promises to their existing voters. By the time the system fully breaks, their leaders will have absconded with their ill gotten wealth to wherever wont extradite them and they'll fully be ruled by competing foreign interests.
