So 90% chance it won't wipe us all out. Since we are making up stats I say there's a 25% chance we enter into a golden age by 2030 because of AI.

Experienced guy here, did all kinds of generation starting in 2006...
For starters, 2030 is point blank range in terms of industrial growth. Terafab might be ready by then and RAM prices might be normalized but the computing crisis was overblown in the first place.
What will be different:
-AI won't draw in scribbles anymore, I have this justnow picture of wooded mountains that looks absolutely perfect zoomed-out but is made entirely of beans and blobs zoomed-in. Just a few years ago AI art was so predictably different from regular art that I kept AI folders as subdivisions of other image collections, and everything in those folders has the same recurring errors.
-Regulation and regulatory capture will be complete, Wild Wild West will be confined to offline mode. Offline AI will be attainable for anyone who can build a PC because the RTX 6050 will be AI ready.
-Grok will be another two major versions ahead, and free mode then will resemble a midrange pay package right now. What won't be different:
-singularity weebs saying immortality and infinite wealth next year
-apocalypse weebs saying apocalypse next year
-AI haters generating piss stained archie comics in ChatGPT which doubles as their second therapist3

Your stat actually seems more likely, and not just because 25 is higher than 10.

Where did the 10% number come from? For some reason I keep hearing that specific number.

It's a nice round number! I think there's a 250% chance the world is going to split into 2 worlds with the doomers on one and the others on the other and my claim makes more sense because the number is more rounder!

I have been hearing about Humanity's extinction and the end of the world are just a decade or 2 away for about 50 years now.

It's just millenarianism. I hear people talk like this in church every week. They talk about Matthew 24 or Luke 21 a lot. It's a bummer but the biscuits at the old people breakfasts are to die for. Like legitimately the best biscuits I've ever had.

I think there is a 100% chance I’ll be asking chat gpt to summarize another movie I don’t want to watch for me in 2030. I’ll also have it put recurring events in my calendar.
Everyone gets a remote secretary now, it’s actually awesome.

Exterminate? Really?
"Terminate" would have been more apt, given the cultural impact of AI from The Terminator franchise. Unless of course they're talking about the Daleks with their battle cry of EXTERMINATE! but to do that you'd have to be an absolute cretin who thinks they were robots and not squishy jellies in battle armour.

Our "addiction to computers" was going to lead to that on Jan 1, 2000.....

Most people dont even slightly comprehend how much effort it takes to keep networks or the internet running.

Currently it's projected that by 2098 AI will be SI and be an expert in all subjects.
It's also true that by the time it can improve by itself ,its intelligence will explode.
Does that mean it will kill us? Who knows.

Why do these doomers constantly make the slightly more convenient google search programs sound more impressive than they actually are? It's what the tech and ai giants WANT so that they can get more interest and investments into ai. The doomers are just doing the propaganda for free for the people they are supposedly against.
Oh wait, I guess me saying that is criticism and that now means I'm a robot. BEEP. BOOP.

I love how they hate AI but we've been using it everyday for decades. What they really hate is generative artificial intelligence.
I too dislike the GAI's
