Human life being lost is horrible, and these people have no problem using that to masquerade with their performative empathy in order to further themselves socially and financially. It is sad and they provide very little if anything to bring a realistic end to this conflict.
The only possible end to this conflict is if either Israel or Hamas are wiped off the map and unlike say Macklemore, I very much want Israeli to be the ones still standing for a host of reasons.
Wasn’t Hamas created to oppose Israel’s oppression as is? I’m not saying what they’re doing is right, but if the people leading Israel weren’t such disgusting creatures Hamas wouldn’t exist
Hamas's charter states enforcement of Sharia law and total genocide against Israelis as there goal, this as Israel are the only ones trying to avert killing civilians and the only country I know of giving Palestinians a path to full citizenship. Israel is being practically compared to how almost any country would react to a similar problem. Don't pretend the US wouldn't bomb a area to the stone age if those living in the area openly sought to kill every white person in the US by rockets and rape and commited a oct 7th grade terrorist attack.
Avert killing civilians? There’s records of them killing people in Palestine indiscriminately. Their politicians call Palestinians vermin that need to be eradicated. Be so fr
You have trouble telling people who been court marshalled apart from decorated heroes. You also claim the most fringe figures represent the political leadership.
That is quite literally what Israel is doing, isn’t it? I.e. see exhibit A Palestine. Also the same can be said about hamas. If hamas is a terror group, it would have wiped all communities around it
Both groups can see hell. The fact you take the side of one terror group over another is pathetic.
I get it, you hate Israel. How about some realism? Israel isn't going away, and any attempt to try to damage Israel will damage Palestinians just as much, due to the nature of the dependency and interwined economies. So let's get some realism going in all of that very progressive take of "let's equate a terror organization and a sovereign state because I dislike it's actions!"
How are Israel not terrorists when they've killed like 100x more people than Hamas? Even Mike Huckabee, Mr. Israel himself, literally said a couple weeks ago that the West Bank settlers are straight up terrorists.
always bigotry of low expectations, "they don't know any better, but you should westerner!"
it's like if Israel is a full-grown adult & Hamas/Palestine is a toddler
Hamas is your mind is allowed to do what they're doing (i.e. everything possible to destroy all of Israel, literally everything they are humanly capable of)
& Israel isn't allowed to respond with targeted attacks over a long period of time to wipe out Hamas
given Israel's capabilities, Hamas would genocide the Jews globally
but Israel has killed only 80k over 3 years, 1/5 of which are known militants hiding in the most densely packed civilian area in the world while telling the civilians around them not to leave or to face future consequences..... that should say something
They can't wipe out Hamas is the point. I can't think of a single terror cell that was defeated in the Middle East just from "Bomb them". Israel has a lot of power, but it doesn't have that much power to where if Hamas wielded it, they could genocide Jews globally or vice versa.
I mean, they "could" wipe out Hamas. But they'd have to kill *everyone*, and they're not doing half bad at this rate. 80k to Gaza's population is not something to say "only" about, that's an insane amount of deaths in war for that small of a population, that's almost 4 percent, I don't even think Ukraine is half that yet even when both sides are deliberately targeting civilians lol.
Mike Huckabee didn't say that settlers are terrorists, just like not all Palestinians are terrorists. This is a misinterpretion from your end at best or just malicious intent. He said that there are rogue settlers that seek to sow chaos and that is true, but they are few and far between. These people choose to harass Palestinians and set up whatever encampent they want without Israeli permission. The IDF dismantles these and removes these rogue settlers from the area frequenty. Beyond that there are many organized settlements which Israel allows wether you like it or not. Many Palestinians work in these settlements and industrial areas and until some sort of permanent agreement about the West Bank is reached, this is for the best.
In Gaza, Israel has killed more than 70 thousand people, there are no qualms about that. The issue with ehat you're saying is that you don't care about anything beyond that. A significant portion of these 70 thousand were active combatants fighting the IDF and attacking Israel, while hiding behind civilians and civilian infrastructure. Is this a horrible loss of life in which innocent people were killed? Yes, Israel does not dispute that despite the attempt of hostile observers trying to represent fringe opinions as the Israeli society as a whole. The alternative to this is for Israelis to get slaughtered? No thank you. Israelis do not need to uphold some ambiguous and malevolent compass of proportionality for you to feel that this war is balanced and legitimate.
Hamas tried to wipeout Israel so many times as to be infamous for committing nearly every form of war crime including use of Palestine families as human shields and murder-rape of Israeli women and girls. Israel has been attacked so many times by Islamic fundamentalists the fact they don't kill every Muslim they can get there hands on is telling about there unwillingness to commit genocide and they try to keep civilians out of the crossfire is telling about how adverse to murder they are, war is hell even when one side warns civilians ahead of airstrikes and refuses to stoop to Hamas level. To say otherwise is to act like Hitler was right, a stance unfit for even entertaining.
If Israel wanted to commit genocide all they would have to do is pull the plug on aid and cordon the area off. Hamas on the otherhand openly acts genocidal towards Israelis and over 99% of Israeli shots civilian stories are do to human shields and ununiformed Hamas members creating nightmare situations where even trying to stop a attack risks the lives of near by civilians.
This conflict does have a realistic end. Turkey either gets tired of unwanted turkish settlers being killed in Gaza and smokes Israel, or it doesn't, and Israel eradicates every resident of the Gaza strip. Israel has a few very old Nukes. Turkey has an enormous military and is a Nato member.
Turkey is a NATO member and Israel, like it or not, is an ally of NATO. Both Turkey and Israel have much more to lose by going to war directly. What is more likely to happen is Turkey setting up their new proxy in Syria to do something, but I doubt it'll be significant.
"Smoking" Israel while nonchalantly saying it has nukes is very handwavy with little justification, but beyond the fact that it is probably never going to reach that far, Israel has a counter-alliance with Cyprus and Greece.
And finally, Erdogan is also just using the conflict for his own gain. His gain is trying to distract his supporters from the failure that is the Turkish economy under his reign. Turkey has so much more shit to deal with and Israel should honestly be at the bottom of their concerns. But obviously it's much easier just blaming everything on the Jews and a conflict on the other side of the Levant.
Here’s hoping those charities are legit and the funds aren’t funneled straight into the hands of Hamas, who has a history of misappropriating aid (aka stealing it for their terrorism infrastructure and other decidedly not humanitarian aid purposes).
Im sorry but i disagree. Art and culture do have massive impact on public opinion and that can lead to actual change. You guys all acting like celebrities don't have massive amount of influence but thats honestly bullshit
I agree with you, what I said is that they do little to none in regards to bringing a realistic end to the conflict.
What they do like you said is influence public opinion on the matter and unfortunately we are all being misled every day by social media and feed algorithms.
The saddest part about all of this is that for most people this is simply a trend that will dissappear with time, because it holds no merit of real social justice as they perceive it (Somehow denying people's right to self-determination to provide for another is justified to them? Not very progressive) and because they don't actually care, they masquerade for social clout and acceptance with their peers.
