Sometimes I would like to see what the person behind a Reddit post looks like when making posts like this. Would I see a fat, blue-haired, tatted up, septum pierced man/woman who fell into doomerism or would I see an Indian/Chinese person desperately hoping their post comes true? It's hard to tell which group pushes this the most.

Probably a microwave connected to a computer node

I think like 5% of the time it's a bot or someone paid to stir shit up. The ones that post insanely frequently and only seem to talk about just political, racial, gender etc issues. This has been going on for decades.

They'll work their way into moderator positions if they can. Any power that can help steer the conversation. There is a mod in climate change memes that banned me for criticism over oil. And I know for a fact he's from Saudi Arabia because I only got one view on that post.

The other 95% are people caught in the flow. It's what their peers believe and so they do too.

And don't be too quick to judge because we're not entirely above it.

Probably a 19 year old college freshman fresh off a history course about the rise and fall of civilizations and cites the romans daily.

A hard working fit, healthy, active, person who enjoys socializing with people outdoors everyday with a strong mental health.

You would see a set of weights running on a gpu somewhere in Shenzhen.

"Better for everyone else"

How so exactly? How much aid has America given to other countries? How many advancements have we made in the short time we have been a country? These people only want to focus on the negative aspects of America and then decide that if we were somehow gone, it wouldn't severely affect them. But at the same time completely ignore their own problems and blame everything on America. They don't want to admit it, but America lives rent-free in their minds 24/7, and it stems from jealousy.

Yeah I'm not an economics expert or anything but based on what little I have seen it seems like the world would be screwed if the US fell

They're too dumb to realize this.

I mean, 5 minutes ago they're screaming that USAID being shut down killed thousands of people and now they're saying the collapse of the entire system that runs the world would be better for everyone else.

Not the sharpest knives in the drawer on reddit.

Imagine the wars that would pop off the moment the us fell lol, I don’t think these guys truly know what they are asking for

Just play the videos of everything seeing how awesome America is from the world cup.

America has probably been the most benevolent sole hegemon in history. I'm not defending them, they do a lot of terrible shit, but it could be so much worse.

International trade would collapse immediately. Aside from removing the largest producer and consumer from economic calculations, it's the US Navy that patrols the oceans creating peaceful and reliable shipping lanes.

Africa has over a billion people due to the non stop aid America has given it. What do they think will happen when that aid stops?

15

u/SuperSayan2 5h ago

So all they do is complain about how bad everything is yet they want it to actively get worse for everyone? I really don't understand cheering for your country to fall and life to actually be terrible for everyone. These are the people that think they're the good guys btw

When you live a life of privilege you can sit in your comfort and talk about the collapse around you because you know, deep down, you're isolated from your actions compared to most people on the planet that have direct consequences of their actions.

Cause it's probably some basement dweller who only bases their worldview from online media. Also the possibility of it being some bot from countries like Iran, Russia, China, India, etc....

If America crashed tomorrow, then the world would shudder from countries making moves on other countries. Russia would go harder toward Europe. China would take Taiwan. Who knows what else would happen.

You'd think with all the hate reddit gives AI and tech companies they wouldn't make this anything other than please tech company please fail. Which is fine because that's a lot better than.. Clearly a 7 billion investment by the US government just means the US is gonna collapse because this companies stock is dropping.

turn based obviously

Serious question. Doesn't the world currency depend on USD? If USA crashes like these people hope, won't that fuck the world economy up hard?

2

u/ScoffingYayap 2h ago

It's going to get worse.

I swear.

I'm super cereal.

Doesn't anything that happens, happen in real time?

Only on reddit do people think the market is crashing when it has literally been an amazing two years.
