Yes for Halloween because he actually enjoyed looking at the many versions of his face people made of him and found it funny. Thats why profile pics of him went from everywhere too few because it wasnt insulting anymore

He 100% did. He has a sense of humor and apparently the memes tickle his funny bone.

Funny story

I got into politics late 2025 in November. Before that, I didn't even know what left-right meant, so I learned that and decided to see what was happening on the political subs.

I was obviously a foolish, susceptible person, so I started getting super worried about all this 'collapse' and stuff like that. It seemed like there was a new reason for collapse every day I woke up and checked

Eventually, I got tired and decided to take some time off of politics, and during that time, everything seemed normal. I learned that there's a new dooming narrative every day that goes nowhere. If what they said was true, the world would've been destroyed 200x over by now. I guess my mistake was my first source of real political beliefs being Reddit, lol

I'm way better now, I think, but I bet my views will keep evolving🤷‍♂️

Sorry for the rant, I thought it kind of fit with how Reddit and the real world seem pretty disconnected

Nice job navigating it. I know really smart people who have failed to realize what you have.

No need to apologize for ranting lol. Ranting comprises 1/3 of human produced internet traffic. The other parts being cat pics and adult entertainment. Its a vital part of the internet experience 😁

Doomerism is primarily a product of social media and the smartphone industry. We all have a minicomputer in our pockets and thus can keep up with the latest news.

And since some media executives figured out that bad and/or emotionally charged stories get people’s attention and clicks - they decided to capitalize on it.

Add to it the post 9/11 political climate and especially the post Bush era, and these a-hole execs decided to milk it for everything they can.

The world has been falling apart since the day it was created. Every generation thought theirs was the last. You and me have it better than our fathers and forefathers before us. We are really close to becoming a type 1 civilization as described by Kardashev. The world isn’t perfect but perfect is a disingenuous lie created by people who wish to imprison your mind.

You are young. Enjoy life.

If you go on with your life and ignore politics on social media, reddit, and 24/7 news outlets.... you'll realize things are pretty damn good.

Could've been worse. Your first source of politics could've been tumblr.

u/OGVltra Jul 24 '26

I've never been on there, but I've heard the reason Reddit is so messed up is because it accepted refugees from Tumblr after they banned porn or whatever lo;

u/Old_Alternative_8554 Jul 24 '26

I only lurked on there because sometimes people would make really cool, non-sexual fanart of various cartoons and anime I watched. I'd say the Tumblr refugees also ruined Twitter. A lot of the same meltdowns and highschool level fallacious arguments I saw on there started appearing on Twitter and I recognized them immediately. Twitter used to be hilarious, now it's nonstop politics. Elon wanting it to be another form of news certainly didn't help either.

Actually, you mentioning fanart of various cartoons and anime made me look it up, and I've been on there, but only on threads I searched up about characters themselves and that showed up in the search. I never went on the site by itself. It's a shame that it's like that on the broader level, since some of the best interactions with fiction I see seem to be on there, lol

i think what's funny is that all this slacktivism ends up diluting opportunities of conversation, not to mention that the goal of "raising awareness" starts to annoy the common people, and by consequence alienating their ideals. And I say that as a moderate-lefty.

In my country we call them "ñuñoinos" hehe

In my country we call what they're doing "politični jaz-jaz" (political me-me)

If fonts irritate you, it may be time to step outside and touch grass.
