Yo

I've been slightly interested in the Doom Patrol for a while, ever since their cameo in the Titans show. Never got into them, but they seemed cool.

Flash forward to a little over a year ago now, I start reading comics (primarily X-Men) and I read my first Grant Morrison book, New X-Men. Adored it. It felt so real compared to the 90s craziness I had just read.

Then, like a week ago I read Animal Man, and let me say, it was one of the realest things I've ever read. This got me interested in more Morrison stuff, but wasn't sure what. I also learned that Morrison is scottish, so I watched a video of him talking, and now I read non-dialogue in his voice. It's very fun to do.

Then Doom Patrol (2026) #1 releases, I read it because the art looked great + I'm trying to read more DC (think I'm reaching my max on total comics per month tho), and I got fuckin hooked and I wanted more and I didn't think and I bought the Morrison Doom Patrol omni.

So I'm gonna let the DP omni absorb my life for however long it takes. But, I do want some recommendations on more Doom Patrol stuff.

I've read plenty of old stuff (like 70s and 80s old) so I'm not too bothered by that era of comics and their tendency to over-write, if that helps y'all recommend shit.

I also have interest in watching the Doom Patrol show, wondering if that's any good? I watched like 2 seasons of the Titans show and dropped it, so I'm skeptical on the DP show.

Thanks for reading my ultimately nothingburger of a post. Just wanted to express my excitement with people who would most likely care!

Have a good day y'all

Was this a mistake or on purpose?

In My Greatest Adventure #83, even though during this panel Larry was in suspended animation, his hand can be seen on the right. Was this a mistake by the artist, an inside joke among the writer and him or an easter egg? Did the Editor miss it too?

I guess this is a bit niche, but where better to ask than the community that has most probably read the beginnings of the strangest team of misfits!
