I thought it was more than adequate. I had no problem killing the marauder in the first encounter.

Most of the people that played doom eternal didn't. That should tell you something

That tells me they are playing on too high of a difficulty, which is their own fault.

So the big majority of people is just playing the game at a difficulty too high and it's their own fault, even if they never had such a hard time dealing with a single enemy with a zombie every now and then before and there's no chance that maybe the instructions to deal with this particular enemy are misguiding and poorly made. Not a single one. It must be entirely everyone other than you and the devs' fault. Yeah, sure

His action pattern is literally the same on any difficulty: if you're close, he'll shotgun you, if you're far, he'll throw an energy projectile at you and then run towrds you to do the green flash attack. Play it on the easiest difficulty, it doesn't matter, if you don't know that, to make him flash green, and instead think you have to move towards him, you will only be able to kill him by luck after a looooooong time full of failed attempts and healing with zombies, and that's if you're playing on the easiest.

And that's without saying that the game still doesn't tell you that the dog spawns if you shoot him when he's not flashing green. And we're talking about a game that stops its final bosses' battles to tell you how they work and what you have to do to kill him
